Abstract: A microwave oven with halogen lamps is disclosed. In the microwave oven, two upper halogen lamps are installed on the top wall of a cavity of the microwave oven at a position corresponding to the central portion of a turntable. Two lower halogen lamps are installed on the bottom wall of the cavity so as to be diagonally opposite to the upper lamps and to not overlap with the upper lamps. Therefore, the light, emanating from the upper and lower lamps, is uniformly transmitted to the total area on the turntable. The upper lamps are positioned to overlap with the central portion of the turntable. The lower lamps individually have an output power of lower than that of each upper lamp. The lower lamps are positioned to be radially spaced apart from the central portion of the turntable. The microwave oven of this invention thus uniformly heats and cooks food laid on the turntable while effectively preventing thermal damage of a turntable motor due to heat of the lower lamps.

Abstract: A metallic supplementary pot having superior heat conductivity is newly provided which is attached in the conventional nonmetallic specialized pot which is placed on a turn table mechanism of the microwave oven. When bread is made in the microwave oven, the supplementary pot containing material is attached in the specialized pot before cooking, and the specialized pot is attached to the drive shaft of the turn table mechanism in the oven cavity. Since the tip of the drive shaft is fit into the supplementary pot in this case, a vane member is attached to the drive shaft in the supplementary pot. When cooking is started, the vane member is turned with the rotation of the drive shaft and the material is kneaded into dough. Thereafter, the dough is heated uniformly and in a short time in the supplementary pot, and bread is completed.

  • Patent number: 5804800
Abstract: A microwave oven includes a cooking chamber in which a turn table is disposed for rotation about a vertical axis, and vertical up/down movement along the axis. The turn table has an axle extending downwardly therefrom along the axis. The lower end of the axle rests on a cam surface of a rotary cam member whereby the cam surface causes the axle (and thus the turn table) to alternately move up and down when the rotary cam member is rotated by a first motor. A second motor is connected to the axle to simultaneously rotate the axle and turn table. A traction member is fixed to the rotary cam and overlies a portion of the axle. The traction member extends along a portion of the cam surface which causes the axle to move downwardly, whereby the traction member can pull the axle downwardly if the axle does not properly gravitate downwardly.
