The airflow by the cooling fan goes towards the inner part of the microwave oven from its outer part, thereby primarily cooling the lighting lamps. In addition, part of the airflow cooling the lighting lamps is exhausted from the microwave oven through the inside cavity of the microwave oven inner air of cavity in harmony.

Abstract: A high-illumination lighting system for microwave ovens which employs a small, low-voltage microwave-immune incandescent lamp located within the oven cavity, thereby utilizing up to the full 4.pi. steradians of emitted light. The lamp, which may be integrated into the oven cavity during manufacture or may be included in aftermarket ovens as a complete lamp module, preferably is located at the upper front of the oven in order to front-light the over contents. The lamp may be electrically connected to one of several existing oven power supplies, or alternatively, may be an aftermarket module powered by microwave energy within the oven cavity. In the latter case, a microwave antenna is connected to the lamp to supply operating power.

Abstract: A microwave oven includes a cooking chamber closed by a door. The magnetron is operated by a control mechanism which includes a circuit board and safety switches which permit the magnetron to be operated only when the door is closed. The opening and closing of the door causes a switch-actuating mechanism to be operated for turning the safety switches on or off. The safety switches, together with a lamp for illuminating the cooking chamber, are mounted on the circuit board. The circuit board is arranged horizontally, with the switches and lamp being mounted on a bottom surface thereof.
