Liquid Trap Patents (Class 220/203.03)
  • Patent number: 8714391
Abstract: A system of opening and closure with lever servomechanism for pressure cooker of the type comprising a lever handle (1), a flexible lid (2) and an arc-shaped cross member (3) with the curved surface or back turned towards the handle, characterized in that said system comprises a fork (4) connected to the lever handle with a first hinge (8) and to the flexible lid with a second hinge (9), and a third hinge (7) for connection between said handle and the cross member (3), so as to reduce the force to be applied to the lever handle (1).

  • Patent number: 8267272
Abstract: A venting device that may be used directly with a container or via a vent cap for a container, includes a venting mechanism having one or more collapsible dome structures and an absorbent material to prevent leakage of liquid or flowable contents from within the container. The construction relies on a combination of venting domed structures and expandable absorbent material to seal one or more openings in a container and or cap.

Abstract: A label type degassing valve with a vented flexible cover and a base with a central aperture. The base is adhered to the cover with an adhesive layer or coating that is positioned and shaped not to interfere with the vents. The vents are generally positioned off center in the cover. For the adhesive coating, there is a deactivated central region of the coating facing the base so that no part of the deactivated central region is adhered to the base and at least one of the vents is cut through the cover and through the deactivated central region.

  • Patent number: 7909192
Abstract: The invention is a vent for use with a container, such as commercial steel pails and drums, and a method for venting containers. The vent has a cap seal with one or more semipermeable membranes covering an orifice in the cap seal. The membrane prevents the passage of at least one atmospheric component, but allows the free passage of air. When a product is filled into the container at an elevated temperature and cools, a vacuum is formed within the container. The resulting vacuum opens a vacuum release device in the vent and pulls air through a hole in the cap seal, which is protected by a micro-porous membrane. The venting of air into the container relieves the vacuum without damage to the container or the product within the container.

  • Patent number: 6629621
Abstract: A gauge hatch is provided that has a cover structure that incorporates a pallet/diaphragm combination and that is cooperatively associated with a pressure responsive liquid seal subassembly. The gauge hatch also incorporates a vent neck and a radially adjacent wall that defines with the vent neck a circumferentially extending reservoir. An exterior preferably radially extending arm permits the cover structure to be opened and inclined at an angle relative to the vent neck. Optionally, the cover may be kept in a closed position. The diaphragm normally seats upon the vent neck. A sealing liquid in the reservoir has a closed chamber over the reservoir liquid. When the arm is not held in a cover closed position, and up until a set vent neck pressure is reached, the liquid seal subassembly eliminates low level fugitive vapor emissions escaping from the diaphragm/seat region.
