Flexible, Ringlike Vent Closing Member (e.g., O-ring) Patents (Class 220/203.12)
  • Patent number: 11873148
Abstract: A container assembly includes a vessel and a lid removably coupled to the vessel. The lid includes a circumferential rim at an interface with the vessel, wherein the rim is separated from the vessel by a gap, wherein the gap is open to the atmosphere outside the container. The container includes a gasket disposed at a sealing position between the lid and the vessel to seal a reservoir of the vessel from the gap. The rim includes a recess extending circumferentially along a first portion of the rim. The recess forms a portion of the gap and defines a venting zone extending circumferentially along the first portion of the rim. In response to the internal reservoir of the vessel reaching a threshold pressure, a portion of the gasket moves from the sealing position through the gap such that fluid held in the reservoir is vented past the gasket through the venting zone to reduce the pressure of the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 8025178
Abstract: According to the invention a drinking vessel (10) comprises a generally cylindrical container (11) adapted to contain liquid and a generally cylindrical lid (12) adapted to close the container. The lid comprises a generally cylindrical outer member (20), a generally cylindrical inner member (22) located within the outer member so as to define a generally cylindrical aperture (50) between the outer surface of the inner member and the inner surface of the outer member, and a generally cylindrical sealing element (21) located in the aperture. The sealing element normally forms a seal between the outer surface of the inner member and the inner surface of the outer member but is deformable by suction at the end of the aperture remote from the container so as to cause liquid within the container to flow, from the end of the aperture adjacent to the container, out through the aperture under the action of the suction.

Abstract: A closure lid for a connecting element of a computer container, comprising an inner part which is maintained on an outer part of said lid and which is provided with an annular groove on the outer periphery thereof, said groove being defined by an annular web on the outer side of the lid and having a sealing ring inserted therein. In order to provide a closure lid which is embodied in such a way that it is possible to prevent the sealing ring from being raised radially from the base of the groove as a result of existing pressure and therefore to relieve the pressure inside the container before the open position of the closure container is reached, the annular web disposed on the outer side of the lid is provided with an uneven bearing surface for the sealing ring.
