Ball Valve Patents (Class 220/203.21)
  • Patent number: 8936169
Abstract: A vacuumized container box having a box body opened at its upper end and constructed in a shape of a container; a box cover is provided at the upper end of the box body; an air outlet opening is provided on the box cover; a vacuumizing device is provided on the air outlet opening for vacuumizing the box body; the vacuumizing device comprises a vacuum operation button and air pumps; the vacuum operation button is provided at an upper end of the box cover; the air pumps are actuated by the vacuum operation button and are provided at a bottom end of the box cover. Since the vacuumized container box is configured to incorporate the vacuumizing device, no other extra vacuumizing devices are required. The vacuumized container box is therefore convenient to use and attains good vacuumization.

  • Publication number: 20120248110
Abstract: An airtight container includes a jar, a cover, a sealing ring and a check valve. The cover includes an opening defined therein. The sealing ring is used to block a gap between the cover and the jar when the cover is located on the jar. The check valve includes a plug and a ball. The plug is fit in the opening and made with a chamber and a tunnel in communication with the chamber. The ball is used to contact the wall of the chamber when air tends to enter the jar via the check valve. The ball can however be lifted from the wall of the chamber by air leaving the jar.

  • Patent number: 8177088
Abstract: An adjustable sealing device for a storage container is disclosed that has a compressible sealing ball to provide a seal with the inner surface of containers having a variety of sizes and shapes. The device's valve ball for its vent is normally biased closed by a tensioner, and is selectively opened by a flexible lead. The lead passes through a container lid and compression washer(s) located between the sealing ball and lid. To insert the sealing ball into the container the lead is tensioned, to orient the longitudinal axis of the washer(s) perpendicular to the lid and sealing ball, so that pressure on the lid will be transmitted to the sealing ball through the compression washer(s). Releasing the lead's tension enables the lid to be placed on the container, and the lead and compression washers to be compactly draped over the sealing ball inside of the container.

  • Publication number: 20110284542
Abstract: A cover for a vented fuel tank cap comprises a cover body in which a cavity and a vent are formed. The vent may be built into the cap by drilling at an acute angle through a lower surface and an interior sidewall, and into the ceiling of the cavity. A hollow member extends from the ceiling into the cavity, allowing the cavity to remain in fluid communication with the vent. The exterior surface of the structure forms a barb for securing a flexible tube. The position of a moveable element within the cylinder, such as a ball, acts as a valve allowing air to enter the fuel tank through a slot when the cover is in place, while preventing loss of fuel if the tank assembly becomes inverted. The fuel cap cover features a low exterior profile, without protrusions, and the cover preferably has no articulated or detachable parts.

  • Patent number: 7950541
Abstract: An apparatus for magnetically sealing a cover of a beverage container comprises a body having an opening, at least a first magnetic member of a first polarity disposed on at least a first portion of the body and a second magnetic member of a second polarity, substantially opposite the first polarity, disposed on at least a second portion of the body, the first magnetic member magnetically retaining the second magnetic member in first and second positions, independent of mechanical assistance, to expose at least a portion of the opening to allow fluid flow to and from the container when in the first position and sealingly occlude the opening to prevent spillage when in the second position.

  • Patent number: 7143783
Abstract: A fuel tank cap provides a safety valve mounted on a tubular vent stem for venting fluids from a fuel tank. The safety valve is adapted for engagement with the tubular vent stem so that the fluids may enter the safety valve. A pair of upper cavities communicate with the vent stem through small channels offset therefrom. The upper cavities contain valve balls seated by gravity against valve seats for restricting fluid flow from the vent stem into the upper cavities. One upper cavity provides a biasing spring seating its valve ball against the its valve seat. The upper cavities provide restrictors positioned for limiting movement of the valve balls away from their valve seats, and a cover sealingly engaged with the safety valve to form a small chamber. The upper valve body further provides exit channels for conducting the fluids to exit.

  • Patent number: 7083062
Abstract: A closure/retainer for the end of a tubular hollow having a plurality of engagement surfaces such as windows formed about the inner periphery. The closure/retainer has a plurality of locking fingers disposed thereabout, with the number, width and spacing of the fingers such that each window is engaged by at least one locking finger for any random rotary orientation of the closure/retainer. The closure/retainer is particularly suitable for automated axial assembly as for example in a fuel tank vapor vent valve for retaining the float in the tubular valve body.

  • Publication number: 20010040162
Abstract: A closure valve for the filler neck of a vehicle fuel tank includes a plastic ball with a vapor impermeable plate attached to it to form part of its surface. The ball is held between a carrier on the inside and a seal carrier on the outside, the seal carrier being held against the ball by a screw cap, a spring washer and a vapor seal. When the valve is closed the plate, the seal carrier, the vapor seal and ring seals form a relatively impermeable barrier covering the end of the fuel filler pipe and preventing the escape of significant amounts of fuel vapor.
