  • Patent number: 10870534
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a water impenetrable barrier between an underground duct and an access opening. The apparatus may cover a secondary opening in a corrugated containment sump of an underground storage tank or the manway of a sanitary sewer, catch basin or other manhole system. The apparatus includes a cover, inflatable seal and a tank of compressed nitrogen to inflate the seal. When sealed to the access opening, the cover restricts the inflow of water or other debris into the interior of the underground duct and nitrogen may be released into the sealed access.

The valve arrangement (5) comprises a first (7) and second (8) valve body which can move between an unblocking position and a blocking position in a to-and-fro manner. The first valve body (7) is prestressed in the direction toward the interior of the container and is supported in this direction on a first sealing seat (13) located on the cap inner part (4) and on a second sealing seat (14) located on the second valve body (8), said second sealing seat lying inside the first sealing seat (13) in a radial manner.

Abstract: A vehicle fuel or gas tank is subject to either a build up of pressure or a negative pressure, and in view of this inlet and outlet vents are provided in the fuel cap to balance the pressure with the atmosphere, and this balance of fuel tank pressure is attained by covers of vents in the fuel cap and the covers having an umbrella or parabolic shape or the vents may be covered by reed valves. The disclosure of covers of vents as described in this invention then obviates the use of coiled metal springs to control vents in vehicle fuel caps.

Abstract: Filler neck for a fuel tank of a motor vehicle Filler necks have, as well as the filler pipe, additional lines for venting, valves and compensating reservoirs. Due to the multiplicity of individual parts and connections, filler necks involve a high outlay in terms of assembly and, because of the connections, have high fuel permeation. The new filler neck is to be easily mountable and have low permeation values.

  • Patent number: 6273286
Abstract: According to the present invention, a ventilating system is used to equalize a first pressure within an enclosure, and a second pressure outside of the enclosure. The ventilating system includes a body member having an exterior surface adapted to seal against an inner surface of the enclosure. The body member has an interior surface forming a conical section oriented in a first direction. The ventilating system also includes an overpressure relief member for venting fluids from within the enclosure when the first pressure is greater than the second pressure. The overpressure relief member has an outside surface that forms a conical section oriented in the first direction. The overpressure relief member includes an outside surface that separates from the interior surface of the body member when the first pressure is greater than the second pressure.

Abstract: A fuel tank fueling device for feeding fuel through the fuel passage of an inlet pipe into a tank main body is provided. The fueling device is easier to manipulate when the fuel cap is opened and closed, and also has better fuel tank sealing properties against the outside air. The fueling device includes a handle provided on a casing main body, operated to open and close the fuel passage; a sealing component interposed between the casing main body and the seat surface of the fuel inlet pipe; a spring disposed so as to urge the sealing component against the seat surface; and a cam mechanism whereby the operating force of the handle in the closing direction is converted via the spring into the sealing force of the sealing component pressing against the seat surface.
