Abstract: A radiator cap having an integral sacrificial anode inhibits corrosion of metal within the radiator. The radiator cap is placed on the opening of the radiator thereby immersing the sacrificial anode in coolant fluid contained within the radiator. The sacrificial anode is preferentially oxidized, thus providing cathodic protection. The radiator cap is easily removable and allows efficient monitoring of the condition of the sacrificial anode. When the sacrificial anode is depleted it is easily replaced to provide a fresh sacrificial anode.

Abstract: A vacuum seal container comprises a cylindrical container body having a peripheral seal extending therearound and a lid including an outer skirt for engaging the seal. The skirt defines an access port for communication with a vacuum-generating source. The lid further includes seating nodes which seat the lid in a raised position to form an interior air passageway for air evacuation. At reaching a threshold pressure difference between the inside and outside of the container, the seating nodes and the sidewall deform to lower the lid which blocks the interior air passageway to form a vacuum seal.

Abstract: A cover of polymeric material developed substantially in cup shape is disclosed. The bottom of the cover has stiffening ribs on its inner side. The stiffening ribs are developed as a cross bracing, the cross bracing being interrupted at least in part by gaps, the stiffening ribs being connected to each other by a secondary connecting element spanning the gaps.

Abstract: A container for liquids formed of a flexible tubular member which has a pair of ends. The ends are connectable to form a loop. One of the ends has an opening to permit access to the liquid carried in the container.

Abstract: A device for repressurizing an inflated ball container which includes a diaphragm dimensioned to fit snugly into an end of said container, a core slidably positioned inside the diaphragm and an actuator movable so as to cause the core to engage an interior surface of the diaphragm and seal it against an interior surface of the container. Upon pressing in on the diaphragm, air is forced into the container.

Abstract: A container for the reception of objects, and especially a spectacles case, is proposed, having two mutually opposing, circular-segment-shaped half-shells for the creation of a hollow body. In order to enlarge the angle of opening between the half-shells, these are joined together by a cross-strapped joint.

Abstract: A portable seat-container for outdoor use is mountable to a conventional five or six gallon bucket and provides a comfortable seat while allowing access to the interior of the bucket. The seat-container is comprised of a half cylindrical receptacle having a receptacle rim, a bottom, a curved sidewall and a flat sidewall. The receptacle rim includes a flange extending from the curved sidewall which is capable of supporting the receptacle on the rim of a bucket so that the curved sidewall abuts the sidewall of the bucket. A lid seat is hingably attached to a straight portion of the receptacle rim. The lid preferably includes a cushion which serves as a comfortable seat, and may also include a latch for releasably holding the lid seat closed on the receptacle.

Abstract: A drinking container cap is provided having an exterior surface, and an interior surface, with the interior surface having a stirrer depending downwardly therefrom. Preferably the interior surface has formed thereon a stirrer receptacle, with the stirrer receptacle itself being generally cylindrical. The stirrer mechanically engages with the stirrer receptacle, and is detachable therefrom. The stirrer receptacle has an inner and an outer surface, with an indentation in its inner surface. The stirrer has a shank end and a terminal end, with the shank end having a bulged area which engages with the indentation, and the terminal end having a bowl portion. In the preferred embodiment of the invention the stirrer receptacle has two notches formed therein, and the stirrer has two projections extending outwardly from the shank end, with the notches being on opposite sides of the stirrer receptacle and the projections being on opposite sides of the stirrer.

The lid is a substantially planar member having top and bottom surfaces and peripheral edge. The lid can be connected to the top of container by pressing a rim located on the wall into a first groove located on the bottom surface of the lid. The lid can be connected to the bottom of the container by pressing a lip located on the base of the container into a second groove located on the bottom surface of the lid. The units can be stored by locating each lid on the base of the container, and nesting the units within one another. Each lid includes a ridge and recess on its top surface for allowing stacking of the same or different size containers upon one another.

Abstract: A safety ring for a pail to prevent access to the contents of the pail by a small child. The ring is adapted to fit within and interlock with a pail. Preferably the safety ring is assembled with the lid for the pail, but is separable from the lid once the lid has been attached to the pail, whereupon the ring will remain in the pail when the lid is removed to expose the contents of the pail.

Abstract: A sealing cap for coupling with an upper edge of a container includes a base disc, a spiral spring, a sucking plate and a soft cap body combined together. The soft cap body is able to be pressed down manually and pushed up by the spring and the sucking plate, to force air from the container to flow out of a hole in the outer circumference of the base disc. The air in the container flows through a stop valve, formed in the bottom center of the base disc, into the space between the base disc and the soft cap body. The air is stopped by a leak valve fixed in the outer circumference of the base disc. A repeated pressing action on the soft cap body is capable of displacing sufficient air from the container to create a partial vacuum therein.

Abstract: The object of this invention is to provide a receptacle with a closure cap which is molded simultaneously with the receptacle body by using blow mold machine. A synthetic resin material is introduced into a pair of mold halves and a fluid such as air is injected into the tube to expand the tube against the walls of the mold thereby shaping the receptacle body. The synthetic resin receptacle of this invention comprises a tubular receptacle body 1, a small tube 2 at one end of the tubular receptacle body for filling, a closure cap fitting portion 3 formed at the top end of the vessel body, a diametrically small cut-out portion 5 joining the top end of said closure cap fitting portion and having a small bore, a cap body 4 having reversed-C like shape in a hollow configuration and joining the cutout portion 5. A projection 7 provided in the center portion of the vertical inner surface of said closure cap body plugs the small bore.

Abstract: The present closure is a measuring cup closure for a bottle which has bristles on the lower peripheral edge of the measuring cup portion. The closure can have a skirt disposed outwardly from the measuring cup portion, with this skirt having threads to attach the closure to the exterior threads on a bottle. In the alternative, the measuring cup portion can have threads to mate with threads on the inner surface of the bottle. There is at least a portion of the lower peripheral edge of the measuring cup that is free of bristles.

Abstract: A refuse container and corresponding lid for storing and transporting goods, wherein the lid is slightly domed and provided with one or more drain channels for conducting accumulated liquid out of a recessed portion of the lid. The container is also provided with handles having a double vertical wall support structure at the point of attachment to the container for increasing the rigidity and vertical and lateral load bearing capacity of the handle. The bottom of the container is shaped to correspond to the lid to allow for vertical stacking and to limit the lateral motion of the stacked containers. The container bottom also contains radially extending ribs which provide additional material to wear away when the container is dragged over floor surfaces. The ribs, which provide a very small contact patch area, reduce friction when the container is dragged over a floor surface. Also, the container bottom is provided with an indented hand grip which assists in the handling of the container.

Abstract: A bottle cap with an air removing device consists of a cap unit and an air stopper combined together. The cap unit includes an upper cap portion, a lower cylindrical portion and a valve formed in an interior of both the upper cap portion and the lower cylindrical portion and having a capsule-shaped cavity for a stopper of the air stopper to fit and move up and down therein to stop an air hole in a bottom of the valve so that the air in a bottle fitted with this cap may be pumped out by an extra air pump fitted in an open cavity of the upper cap portion. After the air in the bottle is pumped out, then the air stopper is pushed down by the air pump again, keeping the cap firmly fixed on the mouth of the bottle in an almost vacuum condition, wherein the food therein may not deteriorate for a long time.

Abstract: A closure for a beverage bottle includes a recessed compartment for accommodating a hidden prize or gift therein for promotional purposes. The compartment has an access opening with a snap-fit door therein. When the closure is on the beverage bottle the door can not be opened. However, when the closure is removed from the bottle it may be squeezed to snap open the door and provide access to the compartment to expose the prize or gift.

Abstract: A cap having two chambers provides a means for and method of decomposing or neutralizing a hazardous chemical residue in a container after it has been emptied at the point of consumption. One of the chambers is a screw cap which normally closes and seals the container prior to the consumption of the hazardous chemical. The other chamber contains a measured amount of a second chemical which decomposes or neutralizes the residue of the hazardous chemical. The other chamber may be sealed off by a rupturable membrane, a screw cap, a friction held stopper, or a tear-off top, any of which may be ruptured or removed at the time when the residue is to be decomposed or neutralized. In the preferred embodiment, a screw cap is removed from the second chamber and the cap is inverted and screwed onto the container rupturing the membrane in the process, thereby releasing the second chemical into the container.

Abstract: A closure device for a container having an opening sealed with a membrane comprises: a cap adapted to engage the opening of the container for closing same and comprising a first cylindrical wall connected to one side of a circular base; and a membrane-penetrating element comprising a second cylindrical wall connected to the reverse side of the circular base and, within the second cylindrical wall, means for penetrating a membrane when the element is pressed into contact with the opening of a container sealed with the membrane, the means comprising a plurality of arciform cutters that are connected to the base and are coaxial with and in close proximity to the inner surface of the second cylindrical wall, the plurality of arciform cutters together comprising a total of at least 300 degrees.

Abstract: An air valve apparatus for vacuum sealed containers comprises a cover having a groove at center portion and an aperture at center portion concentrically with respect to the groove. The aperture has projecting a pair of circular walls both from the upper side to receive an air releasing device and from the lower side to receive an anti-dust cover thereon, respectively. The air releasing device has a hollow body and includes a pressing knob at top portion, an integral pin extending downwardly in a distance near a ball which is seating on top of an O-ring which is fitted on top of the aperture to form a hermits seal between the vacuum sealed container and the outside. By pressing the knob downward, the pin will urge the ball to one side that allows air to flow into the container and releases the vacuum status.

Abstract: Disclosed is a film canister with an invertible cap having a first side and a symmetrical second side. Each side has oppositely facing circular engagement channels and are each engageable with a body portion that is sized for receiving and containing a roll of film. The first side and second side each have indicia indicative of "EXPOSED" and "UNEXPOSED" respectively to provide a convenient means of identifying the status of a roll of film contained in the canister. The cap is simply engaged on the body portion with the appropriate indicia displayed.

Abstract: A cartonless packaging system is provided which significantly reduces packaging waste and includes a container for containing a liquid and a nozzle disposed in one end of the container for dispensing of the liquid from the container. A cap is provided for enclosing the nozzle, and the cap is configured for being removably attached to the container. A support system is provided which encircles the nozzle for removably supporting a plurality of tablets with the support being disposed beneath the cap means when the cap means is attached to the container. In addition, instructional materials are incorporated into the cartonless packaging system, and thus no separate packaging materials are necessary for providing the separate elements to the consumer.

Abstract: An improved construction for a vehicle gas cap includes a threaded engagement portion, a main body for sealing the gas tank throat and for allowing manipulation of the improved cap, a disk, and a hinged C-clamp attached to the main body. The disk is dimensioned such that it allows for the retaining of the trigger of a gas pump handle in an operable position when fitted into the gas pump handle trigger slot. The C-clamp portion is dimensioned such that it allows for the retaining of the trigger of a gas pump handle in an operable position when fitted thereover. The disk of the cap is the same height as the clamp portion's thickness, and allows for a flush surface overall when the C-clamp is folded down into a closed position.

Abstract: A safety cap for a dispenser shaped to prevent choking thereof, particularly in small children. Specifically, the cap includes a lid portion including an attachment portion for securing the cap to the dispenser, and a flange portion extending radially from a lower portion of the lid portion to prevent the cap from becoming a choking hazard when removed from the dispenser. The flange portion is also shaped to complement a corresponding portion of the dispenser. Preferably, the flange portion is shaped to extend from the lid portion of the cap at an obtuse angle therefrom wherein the dispenser includes an upper surface which is also at the same angle. The safety cap of the present invention may also include a rotational assistance member which is attachable to the lid portion of the cap for frictionally engaging the flange portion.

Abstract: A universal replacement carafe is presented and which may be used with coffee makers of different types. It includes removable adaptors which may be inserted into the lid of the carafe. In this way, the lid/adaptor combination can be made of the required height to engage the activation element of any coffee maker. Abstract: An end closure for reclosable packages which is adapted for manual placement over an appropriately sized open package, container or box to substantially enclose a food product therein. The end closure comprises a substantially rectangular resilient end wall having side walls extending down perpendicularly therefrom at each edge. A thin, flexible, pleated sheet overlays the end wall and two opposing side walls. The two sidewalls include expansion joints, and the pleat is substantially coincident with the expansion joints, permitting the end closure to open against a bias when manual pressure is appropriately exerted. The end closure, when held open, therefore fits easily over the package opening. When the manual pressure is released, the end closure closes, forming a tight fit with the sides of the package, effectively protecting the food product from the environment.

The cutting board member serves as a cutting surface, a food preparation surface, and a handling surface, and the bowl member serves as the support for the cutting board member and as a container for receiving the foods which have been cut or prepared on the cutting board member. The cutting board member optionally serves as a lid for the bowl member to cover the contents of the bowl, before or after cutting or preparation.

The locking members are positioned for mutual alignment only when the cap is securely tightened onto the vial. A locking pin is provided for one-way insertion through the apertures of the locking members to prevent the cap from being removed without severing or destroying the locking pin. With this locking mechanism, the integrity of the contents of the vial is substantially ensured until the vial is selected for use and the locking pin is severed in the presence of a patient recipient. A secondary vial is also provided which mounts to the main vial.

Abstract: A safety device for disposing of used hyposyringes employed by home health care professionals is described. A closure assembly permits discarding hyposyringes safely into a container without the danger of hand contact with contaminated surfaces of the safety device, even for objects stuck within the opening to the safety container. A liquid tight seal and liquid absorbent provides additional protection for the home health care professional during the transportation of the safety device after use. The overall design of the assembly permits one hand operation of the assembly.

The mixing cap covers a mug opening to define a lower chamber for containing carbonated soda pop. The mixing cap has detachable interlocking upper and lower sections which can be alternately assembled to define an upper chamber or disassembled. The lower section has a cylindrical sleeve which fits within and sealingly abuts against an interior surface of the mug. The lower section has a floor which separates the upper and lower chambers, and an entrance aperture formed along the periphery thereof to provide fluid passage between the upper and lower chambers. Similarly, an exit aperture is provided in the periphery of the upper section to provide fluid passage from the upper chamber. The entrance and exit apertures are offset from a central axis to facilitate flow of the beverage and to help reduce the melt rate of the ice cream contained in the mixing cap.

Abstract: A coaster for use with a beverage can, bottle or other container, the coaster being provided with an absorbent member having a seat sized to receive the bottom or foot of the container and a multiplicity of interconnected capillary spaces sized to receive and safely retain any moisture present or forming as condensate on and running or dripping from the container. Fixed relative to the absorbent member is a coupling member having a series of semi-resilient contact elements positioned to releasably engage the container and couple the coaster to the container as the container is placed on the coaster. The coaster thus remains on the container as it is picked up and moved about by one consuming beverage from the container. Also disclosed are embodiments of the invention having structure for sealably engaging the upper rim of the container to form a closure or cap for the upper end of the container. The various embodiments also are adapted to carry indicia such as advertising and promotional messages.
