Abstract: A liquid feeding device for roasting or stewing pots is described which permits a supply of liquid, to be continuously added to the interior of the pot to compensate for liquids and flavors lost by evaporation, and to add additional flavors to the cooking container. The liquid feeding device is in the form of a fluid reservoir mounted on the cover of the pot, the reservoir having at least one hole through which the liquid stored in the reservoir may slowly escape into the below pot. The rate of flow of liquid from the reservoir to the cooking container may also be regulated by providing structure which permits adjustment of the rate of flow of air into the interior of the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 8152015
Abstract: A semi-finished product for the rational manufacture and assembly of a two-part closure of a spout element and of a screw cap. The spout element and the screw cap are manufactured as one piece in a coherent manner via breakage bridges. Tooling costs for injection mold tools are thus saved, and the assembly of the closure of the semi-finished product is simplified because of the defined, radial alignment of both parts.

Abstract: A cooking vessel with a selectively configurable condensation collector. In one configuration, the condensation collector collects condensation impeding it from reaching the content of the cooking vessel. In another configuration, condensation is allowed to reach the content of the cooking vessel. A movable reservoir can be configured to either be flush with the lid preventing condensation from reaching the reservoir or configured to form a gap between the reservoir wall and the lid so that condensation can collect in the reservoir. Alternatively, a condensation collector can be detachably connected to a cooking vessel lid so that when it is attached condensation collects and when it is detached condensation reaches the content of the vessel. Alternatively, a condensation collector can be permanently attached to a replacement cooking vessel lid that is swappable with a conventional cooking vessel lid.

Abstract: A container of sheet plastic reveals when it has been opened after a clerk loaded it with food. The container has a base (12) and lid (14) that remain latched together until they are separated at an initial opening region (40) where the lid has a radially-outward projecting lid tab (44) and the base has a tear-away part (52) with a blocker (60) that blocks access to the lid tab. The blocker surrounds the radially outward edge and opposite sides of the tab. The blocker prevents access to the lid tab to lift it to open the container until the tear-away part (52) is torn along a tear line (81). The fact that the tear-away part is torn away, reveals that the container has been tampered with.

Abstract: A pot includes a pot body, an upper cover pivotally covering the pot body, and a cover-lifting mechanism connected between the pot body and the upper cover. The cover-lifting mechanism includes a piston rod. Both ends of the piston rod are pivotally connected to the pot body and the upper cover respectively. The piston rod extends corresponding to an angle between the upper cover and the pot body when the upper cover is lifted. With this arrangement, the user can lift the upper cover with a less force. Further, the upper cover can be prevented from covering the pot body suddenly to damage the components and electric circuits therein and to protect the user's finger from getting hurt if the user puts his/her finger on the upper edge of the pot body. Therefore, the present invention really improves the practicability and safety of a pot.

The outer periphery of the device is irregular, e.g., having flats, such that resting on a flat lowers the container to a stable position, and requires energy to rotate beyond the flat and consequently lift the container. The device may be slipped over a plug type cap or placed directly over the body of the container. In alternative embodiments, the device is provided in the form of a gasket, is made from a foam material, is split and resiliently grabs the container or has an elastic band holding it tightly to the container. Abstract: A closure includes a skirt and internal lugs on the skirt. The skirt has an undulating circumferential contour that includes alternate outwardly convex and outwardly concave portions, with the internal lugs being disposed within the outwardly concave portions of the skirt. The skirt preferably is sufficiently flexible to allow the outwardly concave portions of the skirt to assume an outwardly convex geometry as a result of outward pressure on the internal lugs during demolding of the closure. The closure thus may be simply axially stripped from the mold core during the demolding operation without requiring movement of portions of the mold core to clear a path for travel of the lugs. The lugs preferably are shaped as an inverted U that opens toward a free edge of the skirt, further to facilitate demolding of the closure.

Abstract: Disclosed is a drug free method and apparatus for defeating unhealthy personal habits based on the use of a container with a time driven access control system that allows the user to open the container storing the object of the habit or the means to access it only after a preset time interval expires. Optionally this time interval may be increased by a preset increment after each access to the container causing the time interval between the openings to grow gradually until the need of use of the object of the unhealthy personal habit is eliminated.

Abstract: A cap may include a threaded inner body and an outer cover. A ratchet mechanism may be operatively positioned between the inner body and the outer cover to directly transmit rotation from the outer cover to the inner body in the cap-unthreading direction and to transmit no more than a predetermined amount of torque from the outer cover to the inner body in the cap-threading direction. A gauge assembly may include a float, an indicator dial, and a pointer. The float is supportable at a level of fluid within the container, and the pointer is movable in response to movement of the float with the level of fluid in the container. The pointer cooperates with the indicator dial to indicate the level of fluid in the container. A translucent crystal may be positioned over the indicator dial and the pointer. The crystal may be fixed relative to the inner body.

Opening the top cap presents a straw ready for immediate use, or the straw may be grasped and pulled, to reveal ample straw length for keeping a consumer's mouth away from the bottle. The top cap and bottom cap connect by means to create a secure straw vault which prevents fluid from leaking out of the straw.

Abstract: A container closure assembly includes a closure, an inner seal, and a radio frequency identification tag. The inner seal includes a first surface for engaging a container sealing surface, and a second, opposed surface for engaging one of a backing liner, a facing liner, an induction seal liner, and a glued-in closure liner. The radio frequency identification tag includes a microprocessor electrically coupleable with an antenna for receiving, storing, and transmitting digitized information. The inner seal can minimize migration of fluids between a container interior volume and an exterior of a container when the inner seal is engaged with a container sealing surface. The radio frequency identification tag can be included in the closure assembly within a container interior volume or external to a container, or can be incorporated into the inner seal, without the closure assembly electromagnetically interfering with the receiving, storing, or transmitting of the digitized information.

Abstract: A protective casing for a mobile computing device includes a retractable mechanism integrating a thin, sliding, front surface cover with a fixed back panel. The retractable assembly includes a substantially robust spring torsion system secured on a metallic shaft at one end, and on a cylindrical barrel at the other. In one arrangement, this design allows the front panel of the case to slide open laterally with a slight prod, exposing the display screen of the device. In yet another arrangement, the front panel can be drawn back to a closed position by a minimal pull to the reverse direction until it unites with a locking mechanism at the opposite end. The casing is molded in a manner that it follows the shape of the device and allows strategically placed cut-outs to be created for easy access to the device's side buttons, openings and slots.
