Because of the interlock mechanisms, a plurality of the containers may be stacked and shipped, such as on a pallet, without the use of support bands.

There is also provided an assembly of plural such food containers, each reversibly connected to at least one second similar food container by a mating connection.

Abstract: A unified container includes a plurality of individual storage units that are interlocked, each storage unit including at least one compartment and at least one lid. Each storage unit further includes an interlocking mechanism, for example, a tooth and groove mechanism. Through the interlocking mechanism each storage unit interlocks to adjacent storage units, thereby forming the unified container. However, the interlocking mechanism also allows each storage unit to be detached from adjacent units and thereafter reattached/interlocked with any other unit, thereby forming unified containers of varying sizes. According to one example application, the interlocked storage units form a pill case, each unit holding medication for a different week-day. Through the interlocking mechanism, users can detach one or more storage units and take them as they travel, the individual units being easier to carry. Thereafter, the detached units can be reattached and reused.

Also included in the dispensing units are rails for holding dividers that allow the units to hold tickets of different sizes and ticket fasteners that permit the tickets to be displayed at the front of the units.

Abstract: A vanity case which comprises a case body having a cavity, a lid coupled to the back section of the case body, an inner plate received in the cavity, and a slide piece housed in between the case body and the inner plate. The lid has an engaging claw piece formed hanging down on the front of its underside; the slide piece has an engaging arm protruding above and is always biased backwards. When the lid is closed, the engaging claw piece engages the engaging arm. A rear end wall in the rear of the case body is formed to be elastically deformable toward the front, and when the rear end wall is pushed toward the front, the slide piece whose rear end is opposite the rear end wall is moved forwards, thereby releasing the engagement between the engaging arm and the engaging claw piece and opening the lid.

Abstract: Chain linked capsules comprising multiple capsules interconnected in a chain by chain links. The capsules comprise a sleeve and a piston whereby a powder product can be sealed within the capsule. The capsules are for use in inhalation devices, for example for entraining a dose of an inhalable pharmaceutical powder product to a patient's respiratory tract.

Abstract: A bottle carrier includes a plurality of walls. At least one of the walls includes a recess on an exterior surface for retaining a bottle thereon, when the carrier is in a horizontal orientation and the bottle is in a horizontal orientation partially disposed in the recess. The carrier may be stackable and connectable to similar carriers to form display or storage racks. At least one of the walls includes a plurality of feet extending therefrom. The feet are interlockable with feet on a similar carrier. When similar carriers are stacked, the feet interlock to improve the stability of the stacked carriers. Adjacent carriers may be connected via corks or other connectors inserted into adjacent walls of the carriers.

Abstract: A modular packaging system of containers each having a generally tubular, hollow container body of a fiber-reinforced composite material with cooperative mating interlocking elements extending axially along its length. The interlocking elements allow the containers to be stacked and palletized in a stable manner. An interface between a closure mechanism and the container body provides a good seal and prevents fraying or brooming of the fiber-reinforced composite material at the end face of the body.

Abstract: A multiple chamber package is illustrated which includes two or more containers that are connected by a tear strip in which the tear strip is connected to each of the containers by a tear line. The container can be torn away from the tear strip to thereby provide a smaller package and as such may be more desirable for being carried around in one's pocket or otherwise. By connecting multiple containers together and using a tear strip, a large billboard area is also provided for marketing information to more easily convey information along about the contents of the package to the consumer. The overall package may be formed as a unit, single molded plastic component part with simple as opposed to complex molding techniques.

The other component of the ensemble is a cup member formed of a polymeric material defining a plurality of cups which are integrally formed and also separably joined to each other, the cups including a bottom, a sidewall, and a brim about an upper opening of each cup. Each cup has a skirt extending outwardly from its brim provided with tearable portions to facilitate separation.

Abstract: The invention relates to packaging for food products, particularly for baked goods such as muffins, cookies, pastries, cupcakes, breads or the like, wherein a container comprises a base or article-receiving portion, and a lid portion that is hinged to the base or article-receiving portion. Both portions have side flanges, wherein the flanges are selectively connected to one another by a fastener system to close the article-receiving portion with the lid portion. The article-receiving portion is formed to conform to and house a single-serving baked food product. The base portion may also have at least one stability member extending therefrom to provide stability of the base portion on a surface. A package of a plurality of containers may be provided, with each individual container being selectively detachable from the package.

Abstract: Packaging for elongated articles comprises a plurality of modular plastics units capable of assembling together to form an elongated packaging. Each unit has a lower portion engageable with an upper portion to close the unit and form therebetween a bore and a bore opening in at least one end of the modular unit. An elongated article is supported through the bore and bore opening and spans across at least two modular units.

Abstract: A coupling piece for joining two containers (35, 36) that are stacked one atop the other, particularly onboard ships is provided. Such a coupling is provided at corner fittings (43, 44) and each include a stop plate (21) and a coupling projection (22, 23) on each side of the stop plate (21). A first coupling projection (22) can be placed on the corner fitting of one container (36) and the other coupling projection (23) is provided with a locking catch (28, 46, 54) for locking inside a corner fitting of the other container (35). The drawback that front-side openings in upper corner fittings (43, 44) of a container (36) are obstructed by a locking catch of the coupling piece, hindering the use of lashing means is overcome with the coupling piece locking catch (28, 46, 54), when viewed in the longitudinal direction of the containers (35, 36), being arranged laterally on the other coupling projection (23).

Abstract: The present invention consists of a water or soda bottle or vessel which is designed to allow for the bottle to interconnect with other bottles of similar design and standard dimensions to form useful second use products. A recess in the lower surface of the bottle receives the neck of another storage bottle. There are recesses perpendicular to the vertical axis of the bottle capable of receiving the mating side recess of another storage bottle. There are two such recesses on each storage bottle, one on each side of the bottle, parallel to each other.

Abstract: A magnetic pill dispenser consisting of a plurality of modular pill cases configured to be magnetically attachable to one another to form an arbitrary array tailored to a user's schedule of administrating medications, or to an external ferromagnetic surface, such as a refrigerator door. Each pill case has two substantially planar parallell walls and a plurality of boundary walls one of which is openable. In the preferred embodiment, two strips of permanent magnet and ferromagnetic material configured to mateably engage each other are formed respectively on the two parallel walls so that any two cases can be magnetically connected thereby. Similar magnetic strips may be formed on one or two boundary walls for further magnetic attachment to a ferromagnetic external surface or other pill cases. On the openable wall of each case, a day-of-the-week indicator and a time-of-day indicator are imprinted for facilitating orderly, scheduled administration of medication.

Abstract: A multi-cellular polypropylene container with a cut-scored region connecting the cells of the container is described. By varying the cut-score depths depending on the orientation of the plastic material, greater consistency in the tearability of the individual cells is achieved. One or more star-cut patterns may be provided between the cells. The star-cut patterns have curved edges that lead to the separation region. The curved edges provide a generally smooth surface that does not cut or snag the user.

Abstract: A device for holding freight is composed of two containers, which are connected to each other by at least two connecting elements. The area where the containers are connected to each other is sealed off from the environment by at least one sealing element. Each container has a closable access opening at the end which faces the other container. The sealing element extends around the area of the outside edges of the two facing ends of the containers. The connecting element is installed on the containers in such a way that, when the containers are not connected to each other, an external contour of the connecting element is essentially in an interior position with respect to the external contour of the container.

Abstract: A food and drinks serving tray is created to include two separate areas for drinks and glassware. The separate areas are formed by an outer rim and inner rim which partially or fully prevents spillage on or off of the tray. The food and drinks serving tray includes a billfold drawer and a coin reservoir to collect and conceal a waitress' cash payment for the orders she takes. A handle can be added to the underside of the tray for easy tray handling. The food and drinks serving tray can be manufactured of different materials and have different shades of color. In addition, the food and drinks serving tray has a flat base surface which can be manufactured to come in different shapes such as a circle or rectangle.

A sidewall portion extends from the shoulder region to a base portion. The base portion closes off an end of the container. The sidewall portion is defined in part by at least two vacuum panels formed therein. The vacuum panels are movable to accommodate vacuum forces generated within the container resulting from heating and cooling of its contents. The shoulder region and the base portion each define an interlocking structure suitable to achieve a nesting relationship with complementary mating surfaces of an adjacent container.

Abstract: A recycle container is adapted for use with a refuse container that has wheels and a lift bar to be engaged by a hydraulic lift unit of a refuse collection vehicle. An engagement flange extends outwardly from a rear wall of the recycle container at a height that enables a hook portion of the flange to engage the lift bar of the refuse container when the containers are supported on level ground. Engagement of the hook portion of the flange on the lift bar enables the recycle container to be joined to the refuse container to facilitate movement of the recycle container and refuse container together. Once the flange is engaged on the lift bar, the refuse container is tilted backward about its wheels and the two containers can be transported together to a curbside location, and detached from each other to await pick-up by collection vehicles.

Abstract: A multiple-tray, multiple-compartment food package that allows for individual trays to be initially packaged together in a connected manner, yet later be separated from each other while a film remains intact upon the trays to allow opening at different times. The film covering the food compartments and a back panel attached along the bottom of each tray initially maintains the trays in an attached, sealed state. The film contains a weakened portion along which the film and trays are separated. The back panel is a single, continuous piece, however, it can be removed or separated into at least two pieces by tearing along an area of weakness thereon, which also separates the trays from one another with a portion of the back panel remaining on each tray. The back panel is used to provide either a stand-up display feature or an overhead hanging hole in the top of the panel.

Abstract: Individual elongated containers, preferably square or rectangular in cross section are provided for holding tools and materials necessary for a dental procedure. The containers all have structure on two or more sides thereof to allow them to be assembled together into a single structure so that the practitioner can assemble his own procedure kit. This allows the user to assemble a series of containers holding different sized devices or different devices in a small assembled structure for easy access, to vary the components of the structure as required for each procedure and to remove an empty container or a container with the incorrect contents from the assembly and replace it with a proper device or material. The containers are particularly configured to hold thin, elongated devices, such as a series of containers for different size endodontic files, gutta percha, swabs, absorbent paper points, posts, or other dental tools or materials.

The body recess defines at least one recess bottom corner having a recess bottom corner wall thickness which is at least identical to the second body wall thickness of the second container body. This specified bottom corner wall thickness of the body recess allows the second container to withstand the single impact or repeated impacts.

Abstract: A multi-compartment trash storage apparatus assembled from individual components comprising two flat side pieces and a plurality of connecting panels. Each of the side pieces comprises a vertical bar and a plurality of panels projecting at an angle from the vertical bar and disposed one below the other. The panels include a plurality of slots along their bottom, front and back edges. The connecting panels are rectangular comprising top, bottom and a pair of side edges. The side edges are adapted to be snapped in the slots in order to connect the two side pieces and form a plurality of compartments. The assembled apparatus is self-standing and the compartments are located one below the other, inclined at an angle to facilitate easy access and adapted to receive conventional plastic or paper grocery bags.
