  • Patent number: 6390145
Abstract: A clean box has a container including a container body opened at one surface and a lid for closing the opening of the container body. An annular groove is formed in at least one of the container body and the lid so as to surround the opening. An elastic seal member is disposed within the annular groove along its whole length. A cross-section in a width direction of the elastic seal member has relatively thick end portions and a relatively thin intermediate portion in its dimension in a depth direction of the annular groove. Thus, when the lid closes the opening of the container body, an annular suction space is defined along the intermediate portion of the seal member. Also, the suction space is sealed by elastic deformation of the both end portions of the seal member between the container body and the lid. Further, the clean box has an intake/exhaust port mechanism for evacuation/release of the suction space from the outside.

  • Patent number: 6375024
Abstract: A vacuum apparatus for easily forming a vacuum in any bottle, container or the like and for providing a stable sealing. A lower cylindrical member together with a disc member forms a space portion in which a vacuum or an atmospheric pressure is applied, and the lower portion of an upper cylindrical member is inserted in the space portion and divides the space portion into upper and lower spaces. With a downward movement of the upper cylindrical member, the upper space expands and draws air inside of a bottle, and with an upward movement thereof, the air introduced into the upper space is vented outside. At this time, a check valve is selectively opened and closed and is operated by a pressure difference applied thereon. By repetitive reciprocating movement of the upper cylindrical member, a high vacuum is formed in the bottle and is sealed by the check valve. The apparatus is adaptable in a vacuum bottle, a medical suction instrument or the like.

  • Patent number: 6223923
Abstract: A safety pressure release locking gas cap is shown. The gas cap is comprised of a handle element, and a plug element. The plug element is rotatably housed in the handle element, and has external threads. A lock element is contained between the handle element and the plug element and can be used to lock the two components together. Locking arises by rotation of the lock element, for example by a key, about an axis of rotation which is a first manner of movement. The lock element has also a second manner of movement, which is axially along the axis of rotation. Movement in the second manner moves a valve from a pressure containing position to a pressure relief position. According to the present invention the movement in the first manner occurs independently from movement in the second manner.

The cover has an outer curved flange which overhangs the side of the pot, and reflects, recycles, reutilizes and directs heat back toward the utensil during everyday cooking processes. The cover of the present invention is a one-size-fits-all type since the amount of overhang over the side of the pot or vessel has little effect on its efficiency in recirculating the heat. In order to produce such a compressed-gas capsule in a very simple manner, it is provided that the holding means and the valve seat are held at least indirectly by an inwardly directed flanged edge of the capsule.

  • Patent number: 5405038
Abstract: This device has three main components: a storage container, an air-tight lid and a pump for extracting air. The storage container is distinguished by a ring-shaped protrusion in the concave bottom of the container. This protruding ring is designed to fit tightly into a concave ring on the lid of another container of the same design. This feature enables the containers to be stacked conveniently on top of one another. The storage container is further distinguished by an elevated lip on the upper rim of the container, which forms an air-tight seal with the lid. The lid is distinguished by a vacuum valve containing two layers with several holes in each layer. The vacuum valve contains an umbrella-shaped silicon piece, which can bend upwards to allow air to be drawn out by the pump, but is restricted from bending downwards (which would allow air to enter the container).

  • Patent number: 5398811
Abstract: A vacuum sealed canister unit which includes two parallel integrally constructed interconnected cylinders. A large cylinder defines a canister for storing food items and has a wide top opening with removable cover which can be sealed in place. The vacuum is released by a valve mechanism incorporated in the cover and handle of the large cylinder. The storage container is connected to a vacuum pump chamber by a passageway with a one-way check valve on the pump side. The arrangement of the vacuum pump shaft allows outside air pressure on the top side of the pump assembly shaft to be equalized and the pump handle to be stored in a down stroke position after pumping is complete. To operate, one places the thumb over a hole in the handle and depresses the handle. Space above a piston at the base of the handle shaft expands, drawing a vacuum in the storage container as air is drawn through the connecting passage between the cylinder.
