  • Patent number: 11560265
Abstract: The invention is directed to a packaging film (2) comprising: a top layer (4) with at least one aperture (4.1); a bottom layer (8) adhered to the top layer (4); a tear layer (6) adhered to the bottom layer (8) and extending along the at least one aperture (4.1) so that upon traction on the tear layer, said layer tears the bottom layer (8) through the aperture(s) (4.1). The tear layer (6) extends beyond the at least one aperture (4.1), between the top layer (4) and the bottom layer (8), preferably longitudinally in two opposite directions. The invention also relates to a condom wrapping with such a film and to the manufacturing method for such a film.

Abstract: A container lid for a fluid container is formed of a flexible resilient material includes a body member having a drinking aperture and a valve. Upon application of a first force to an actuator region of the body member, the valve unseals the drinking aperture and upon removal of the first amount of pressure, the valve reseals the aperture. Upon the application of a second force to the actuator region that is greater than the first force, the valve engages a locking mechanism and the aperture remains unsealed upon removal of the applied second force. In a second embodiment first and second actuator regions are employed and the application of a force to the second actuator region secures the valve in an unsealed orientation.

  • Patent number: 9611069
Abstract: A composite container is provided for holding products (e.g., stacked chips). The container includes a tubular body and a peelable membrane. The tubular body is made of at least one paperboard body ply having an inner surface and a metallized Oriented Polypropylene (mOPP) liner ply adhered to the inner surface of the paperboard body ply. A liner sealant is disposed on the inner surface of the mOPP liner ply, and the paperboard body ply and the mOPP liner ply are rolled outwardly to form a rim. The membrane, which has a membrane sealant on its inner surface, is sealed to the liner sealant in the area of the rim to close the container. When the membrane is peeled away, the membrane sealant and the liner sealant remain sealed to each other and cause separation within the mOPP liner ply, avoiding tearing and exposure of the paperboard in the rim.

  • Patent number: 6769557
Abstract: A bottle security device includes an inner member and an outer member that cooperate to lock the bottle security device on the neck of a bottle. The inner member includes a plurality of fingers that are adapted to fit under the bead on a bottle neck. The inner member further includes outwardly extending teeth. The outer sleeve member of the device slides over the inner member and forces the fingers against the bottle. The outer sleeve member further includes a plurality of upwardly extending arms that have inwardly projecting teeth that engage the teeth of the inner member to lock the two members together. A key is used to separate the two pieces and release the security device from the bottle. The key extends down through the top of the outer sleeve member to physically engage the upwardly extending arms and to move them radially outward to where they disengage the inner member.

  • Patent number: 6745923
Abstract: An automatically opening pour spout fitment to be applied to a container over location where the container wall has a weakened area. The automatically opening fitment is comprised of a cap which is threadably attached to the fitment and which has a depending cam extending downward from the top wall. The fitment is comprised of a annular sidewall which defines a pouring zone and which provides a boundary for a hinged flap. The flap has an upwardly extending cam follower which is engaged by the cam of the cap such that when the cap is removed from the fitment, the cam initially applies a horizontal force on the cam follower to open the package to which the fitment is attached to.

  • Patent number: 6454161
Abstract: An opening device (2) attached at a hole (4) in a top wall portion (16) of a packaging container (12) and positioned adjacent a fold line (14) of the packaging container, including a base portion (8) connected to the top wall at the hole, and a lid portion (10) releasably connected to the base portion, in which the base portion has a portion (26) protruding from a main circumferential portion (24) towards the fold line (14), for providing increased stability of the container during storage and transport. A tamper evidence protrusion (11), also functioning as a pull tab for opening the lid portion, extends from the lid portion to be connected to an outer side (6b) of the top wall portion. A reduced thickness tearing edge (28) is provided between the base portion and the lid portion for facilitating opening, and a bistable hinge (9) releasably biases the lid portion to stably remain in an open position, for avoiding interference of the lid portion during product dispensing.
