  • Publication number: 20020139802
Abstract: A two-piece container for mints or similar tablet type contents in which base and cover elements are arranged for relative sliding movement in opened and closed condition and are of curvate configuration so as to approximately conform to the figure of a user when the device is disposed in a side pocket of a jacket or similar garment. The cover element is configured such that the upper surface and the lower surface of the base element are exposed for contact between the thumb and fingers of a user, thus permitting the opening and closing of the container using the thumb and fingers of a single hand.

  • Publication number: 20010020620
Abstract: A storage box including a body, a lid and an arm member. The body is provided with a storage portion and a guide portion. The lid is provided with a sliding portion engaged with and directed by the guide portion. The arm member is held rotatably by the body at an opposite end, and is held rotatably by the lid at a remaining opposite end. This construction accommodates various loads or forces applied to the lid during opening and closing, thereby decreasing overall strain upon the storage box and eliminating the need to reinforce the body, the lid and the arm member. The result is a functionally simplified yet strengthened storage box capable of being manufactured at reduced costs.

  • Patent number: 6173854
Abstract: A port closure and method of installing the same. The port closure includes, in combination, a tank, a closure member and an actuator. The tank has defining walls, an exterior surface, an interior surface, an interior cavity and an access port. The closure member is disposed within the interior cavity of the tank. The closure member has an access port engaging face that is larger than a cross-sectional area of the access port. The actuator is coupled with the closure member and moves the closure member between a first position in which the access port engaging face closes the access port and a second position laterally spaced from the access port.
