Patent number: 6425492Abstract: The invention relates to a liner for use with an associated closure of an associated container. The liner comprises a central portion that has a periphery. The periphery defines a central portion diameter. At lest six tabs extend from the periphery, and each tab has a tab height. Each of the at least six tabs is about 20° to about 40° in arcuate length, and the tab height is about 1 percent to about 3 percent of the central portion diameter. Each of the six tabs is equally spaced from one another.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2002Date of Patent: July 30, 2002Assignee: Phoenix Closures, Inc.Inventor: Len Ekkert

Patent number: 6386382Abstract: A container for storage of items during watersports is described, having a base (10) affixed to the watersports equipment such as a surfboard or diver's gas tank and a body forming a waterproof enclosure detachably secured to the base. The top cover (14) of the body has tabs (44) which are retained under projections (22) of the base such that the bottom tray (12) and top cover of the body cannot be unsealed without disengaging the body from the base. The top surface (40) of the cover forms a ramp engageable by the foot of the surf rider and may have grip material attached thereto.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2000Date of Patent: May 14, 2002Assignee: Sunbum Pty LimitedInventor: William Thomas McCausland

Patent number: 6206227Abstract: A closure assembly for a pressure vessel having an opening in the external surface thereof, comprising a concentric guide track secured to the external surface of the pressure vessel, a curved concentric closure or door configured to conform to the curvature of the pressurized tank, means for interlocking the concentric door to the pressure vessel when the door is in the closed position and an inflatable seal that fills the void between the door and the pressurized tank when the door is closed and the seal inflated. The concentric guide track includes upper and lower concentric tracks upon which the concentric door is mounted and capable of moving along the track such that it can be rotated to the back of the pressure vessel when in the opened position and rotated to close and seal the opening within the pressure vessel in the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1999Date of Patent: March 27, 2001Inventor: Edward T. Patent number: 5167341Abstract: An immproved lid assembly for roll-off sludge containers is provided wher the lid assembly is supported by oppositely disposed lip portions which extend longitudinally along each side of an opening formed in an upper side of the sludge container. The lid assembly comprises a plurality of lid members and a roller assembly connected to each of the lid members so that the lid members can be selectively moved between a first position and a second position relative to the opening of the sludge container. In the first position the lid members are telescopically disposed in adjacent lid members, thus providing access to selected portions of the opening in the sludge container. In the second position, the lid members are extended and close off the opening in the sludge container.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1992Date of Patent: December 1, 1992Assignee: McClain Industries of Oklahoma, a division of McClain Industries, Inc.Inventors: Jamie S. Patent number: 4753343Abstract: An audio disc storage container having a movable flexible, transparent wall which allows inspection of the contents, the wall having an aperture provided in it to permit insertion and removal of audio discs. The aperture in the wall may be aligned with a seal member to prevent the entrance of contaminants into the storage container which may damage the discs.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1987Date of Patent: June 28, 1988Inventor: John M. Patent number: 4717020Abstract: A toolbox receptacle with a sloped face typically inclined at 5.degree.-85.degree. to the horizontal, with a preferred slope of 15.degree.-65.degree., contains a series of compartments inside, specifically designed for holding tools and materials of various sizes; the series of compartments may be removable; the compartments recede in a sloped fashion, but not necessarily with the same slope as the terminating margins of the receptacle; this design facilitates use by a user since all the tools in the sloped compartments can be seen at once and may be stored more easily; the toolbox may contain a top wedge shaped nesting section which slides along a flanged sloped face of the lower section of the toolbox assisted by longitudinal slots in the flanges of the bottom section of the toolbox and corresponding slots in the top wedge shaped section; the receptacle in its preferred form is made from metal or plastic, and may include folding wheels and support framework.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1987Date of Patent: January 5, 1988Inventor: Elmet Viira

Patent number: 4502610Abstract: The present invention is directed to a hopper cover having a pair of covering members and mechanism for moving each of the covering members toward and away from the other. Stops ultimately prevent the covering members from falling from the hopper, while mating mechanism and elastic straps combine to hold the covers together when they are moved together. The cover provides a wide central space for filling a hopper, while functioning simply to open and close and provide the necessary protective covering for the substance filled within the hopper.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1984Date of Patent: March 5, 1985Assignee: Bert Moore Sales, Inc.Inventor: Dale Todd

Patent number: 3985262Abstract: An actuating mechanism for a locking lid, capable of completely clearing an opening in a vessel and which, in the closed position, is flush with the inner wall of the vessel. The actuating mechanism comprises a sleeve which slides over a fixed rod at an angle of between 0.degree. - 30.degree. with the vessel wall. The sleeve carries at spaced points two pivotally mounted, parallel links of equal length which are pivotally connected to the lid. The lid also carries a guide wheel running in a guide track disposed perpendicular to the vessel wall and one pivotal connection between the sleeve and link carries a connecting rod displaced by a crank provided with an actuating lever. In the initial opening and final closing movements, the locking lid moves perpendicular to the wall guided by the guide wheel running in the guide track and after clearing the opening, the lid moves parallel to itself and is brought back in front of the opening.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1975Date of Patent: October 12, 1976Assignee: Nautamix Patent A.G.Inventor: Constant Johan Nauta
