Abstract: This invention relates to a component door assembly for an electronic device which hides and protects removable electronic components. The door has separate locking and moving mechanisms so that two operations must be performed before the door can be opened. Specifically, in the preferred embodiment a resilient sliding door is mounted on tracks or grooves in the housing of an electronic device. The door has a button on one end and a handle on the other end. To open the door, the button is pressed inward while the handle is pulled in the direction of the button.

Abstract: A cover for an ice cube tray includes a top portion for covering the top of an ice cube tray and sidewalls joined to the top portion which permits the top portion to be raised to a position at which the top position is spaced above the tray top. The cover also includes flanges joined to the sidewalls for limiting the distance that the top portion can be raised above the tray top. Once the cover raised to its spaced, or elevated, position and the tray and cover are inverted and canted to an inclined condition, the top portion and sidewalls provide a chute for accepting ice cubes dropped from the tray and for directing the dropped ice cubes off the lower end of the cover.

Abstract: This invention to a case for storing and dispensing sockets from matching grooves. A desired socket can be visually selected through at least one of transparent end pieces which close opposite ends of the grooves. The desired socket can be dispensed by positioning a belt which wraps around the grooves to retain the socket therein, to bring an aperture opposite the groove matching the desired socket.

Abstract: A cassette for storing a plurality of electronic component chips employed for providing the plurality of electronic component chips to an apparatus for supplying electronic component chips comprises a plurality of electronic component chips; a case for storing the plurality of electronic component chips, which is provided with first and second outer wall surfaces adjacently intersecting with each other and an outlet formed in the first outer wall surface, the case also being for discharging the electronic component chips; and an openable closure for closing the outlet. The closure is formed by a flexible plate. The case has a guide portion for slidably guiding the closure over a portion along the first outer wall surface, and a portion along the second outer wall surface. The closure is guided by the guide portion to open and close the outlet, while one end portion thereof is positioned along the second outer wall surface whether the outlet is opened or closed.

Abstract: A padlock cover with storage compartment, having a first portion which covers the case of a conventional padlock, this first portion having a pair of openings for passing the legs of the padlock shackle. The cover has a second portion having spaced apart walls that define a storage compartment, with an access opening in one wall. A flexible, resilient, elongated lid member is mounted in guide means such that it has a closed position in which one end portion covers the storage compartment opening and the other end abuts the releasably locked leg of the shackle to hold the lid closed; and the lid member being slidable to an open position in which the compartment opening is uncovered when the shackle leg is released from the padlock case thereby unobstructing further guided movement of the lid.

Abstract: A sharps disposal system includes a holding chamber and a collecting chamber. The open bottom of the holding chamber is closed off by a bottom cover plate as sharps are accumulated. The bottom cover plate is confined by a locked articulated safety door which prevents accidental premature opening of the bottom of the holding chamber. When the accumulated sharps are to be removed from the holding chamber, the articulated safety door is unlocked and slid in a track from the bottom of holding chamber to the front wall. The collecting chamber is then inserted into the bottom of the holding chamber. The open top of the collecting chamber has a track holding a top cover plate. The top cover plate interlocks with the holding chamber bottom cover plate, and the two cover plates are withdrawn as a unit to allow the accumulated sharps to drop into the collecting chamber.

Abstract: A sheet cover for a swimming pool adapted to become arched over the pool when air under pressure is projected under the cover. The cover has a pending skirt adapted to hang in the water adjacent the peripheral sidewall. The skirt is provided with a series of holes at a distance from its lower edge. When the cover is arched, the skirt raises until the air leaks through the holes to maintain the cover at a desired height.

Abstract: An audio disc storage container having a movable flexible, transparent wall which allows inspection of the contents, the wall having an aperture provided in it to permit insertion and removal of audio discs. The aperture in the wall may be aligned with a seal member to prevent the entrance of contaminants into the storage container which may damage the discs.

Abstract: A digital audio disk enclosure is disclosed, having a semi-rigid generally rectangular top and bottom portions, with sided disposed about the periphery of the top and bottom portions to form an enclosed space therebetween. An elongated aperature is disposed through one side, of a size sufficient to pass a digital audio disk therethrough. Guide means are disposed within the enclosed space in aligned spaced relation substantially along the aperature side and one adjoining side. A flexible closure strip is disposed within the guide means, with a tab disposed near one end of the closure strip, suitable to be manually biased between open and closed positions. Ribs, inclined ramps, or guide means extending above top portion and below bottom portion are disclosed for ease of removing the digital audio disk from the enclosure. The digital audio disk enclosure is preferably sized to receive a pamphlet and a digital audio disk within the enclosed space.

Abstract: A shutter of the type used as a closure for boxes or containers, or for garage doors, includes a series of interconnected elongated strips having at each end of each strip an integral male and female connecting member so that the female connecting members of one strip are capable of interlocking with the male members of an adjacent strip to form the shutter. Each strip also includes an elongated recessed area and a corresponding overlapping portion positioned below the recessed area. When a series of strips are interconnected to form the shutter, the overlapping portion of one strip is received in the recess portion of an adjacent strip. Lastly, each strip includes at least one vertically oriented pair of tongue and groove members positioned intermediate the ends of each strip so that when a series of strips are interconnected to form a shutter, the tongue of one strip is received by the groove of a corresponding strip so as to prevent tampering.

Abstract: A toner container unit wherein an opening part of the toner container unit is sealed by a film-like sheet surrounding a sliding cover. When the sliding cover slides forwardly the film-like sheet is torn off from the opening part of the toner container unit. When the sliding cover slides backwards the film sheet seals again the opening part.

Abstract: A rolltop diskette container which requires no more desk area when in the open position than it does when closed. The rolltop diskette container holds 100 of the 51/4 inch (133 millimeter) diskettes and requires approximately the same desk area as the conventional flip-top diskette container. The flip-top diskette container holds only 50 of the 51/4 inch (133 millimeter) diskettes.The rolltop diskette container is comprised of two side panels 1 and 2, a bottom panel 3, and a rolltop 4. Partitions 6 and 7 may be utilized to index and separate the stored diskettes.

Abstract: The top closure of the present invention comprises a flexible sheet member sized to fit in covering relation over a top opening of a box. One edge of the sheet member is attached to the upper edge of one of the box walls. A pair of tracks are each positioned at the opposite ends of the box and an elongated shaft extends between the two tracks. The tracks guide the shaft from an open position adjacent one edge of the box to a closed position adjacent the other upper edge of the box. The flexible sheet member is rolled around the shaft when the shaft is in its open position, and the sheet member unrolls from the shaft as the shaft rolls towards its closed position. When the shaft reaches its closed position, it engages a plurality of flaps which are mounted along the edge of the box. These flaps wrap around the shaft as the shaft rotates, and become attached to the shaft, thereby fastening the shaft to the sidewalls of the box with the tarpaulin in covering relationship over the opening.

Abstract: There is provided a card file box comprising a pair of mirror-image side panels, a U-shaped member comprising a bottom panel, and front and rear end panels secured to the side panels to form a rigid structure and a tambour for slidingly enclosing the top of the box. The lateral edges of the tambour are slidably disposed in channels in the side panels. A removable clip at the bottom of the card file box forms a stop in the channel. Removal of the clip forms a passage for removal of the tambour. The card file box further comprises generally vertical ribs on the interior of each side panel for subdividing the interior of the box into card-supporting compartments and generally vertical ribs on the front and rear end panels for facilitating removal of cards adjacent to the end panels.

Abstract: The invention relates to freight containers, in particular containers for air transport with a supporting frame which is made of profiled sections or the like, the long sides of which frame comprise polygonal frames which have roof sections and reinforcing vertical struts, and are joined by transverse sections. In spite of being made according to standard, it should be possible to stack these readily on top of one another and secure them to each other. They should also feature facilities which allow access at all times to the freight to be transported. The supporting frame (7) of such an improved container (5) features, between the roof sections (18), clamping elements (21,24) to secure neighboring, stacked containers in place; also for stacking purposes, the roof sections are reinforced and the vertical struts (16) are positioned at the places of greatest load. If desired, the reinforced roof sections house facilities (40,41,42) to guide closure means (35) for stacked freight containers.

Abstract: A homogeneous, one piece container cover of stiff but flexible material including two or more cover portions interconnected by integral hinges. The hinges include parallel ridge and groove portions extending across the cover but terminating short of the periphery thereof, and nonridged, preferably generally flat hinge portions extending from the ridges to the periphery of the cover. One portion of the cover is adapted to be attached to a flange around the opening of a container, and the other portion or portions can be opened by flexing the hinge portions. The ridge and groove portions preferably terminate in smooth round or cone type sections, and thickening of one or more of the vertices of ridges and grooves is disclosed to prevent tearing or separation. An insert of stiffer material is configured to conform closely to the shape of a section and is attached thereto to increase the stiffness of a section of the cover, which may span a considerable distance in the case of large containers.

Abstract: A magazine for a protected storage of a set of drills and for enabling a selective withdrawal of drills arranged in individual pockets in the magazine. The magazine includes a flat magazine body having narrow end faces with at least two straight rows of parallel pockets being provided in the magazine body into which drills are inserted and are accommodated over their full length. The pockets have an open end which opens in a direction of one of the narrow end faces. The narrow end faces of the magazine body are interconnected by curved transistion faces and form a sliding face for a covering strip which is slidably guided along a narrow surface area of the magazine body, which surface area is formed by the narrow end faces and the curved transistion faces. The covering strip includes a number of selector openings corresponding to the number of rows of pockets in the magazine body.

Abstract: An improved container and lid construction includes a rectangular box of molded plastic with one pair of opposed sides of the box having a shaped lip member that cooperates with a compatible shaped flange member of the lid. The lid is fabricated from an extruded plastic material and designed to snap on the top of the box in an automatic filling operation. The lid may then be slidably removed from the box.

Abstract: An endless tape cassette including a stationary reel having a slit communicating the inner and outer peripheral sides and carrying an endless tape wound on the outer periphery, guide plates for guiding the endless tape wound on the stationary reel such that it is pulled out from the inner periphery of the tape roll through the slit and taken up on the outer periphery of the tape reel, and a housing accommodating and supporting the stationary reel and guide plates. The housing includes a bottom plate formed with an opening for permitting a tape drive mechanism to be inserted therethrough into housing for operative coupling to said endless tape, a top plate facing said bottom plate, a pair of side plates, a front end plate and a rear end plate.

Abstract: A compass hood construction is disclosed capable of closing entirely the face of a compass yet also providing higher viewing angles than is usually possible with available hood constructions. An outer stationary hood segment frictionally engages an annular flange in which the compass is mounted. Mounted within the hood segment are inner and outer hood sectors which are pivotally pinned to the stationary hood segment. The inner hood sector includes a tongue which engages a groove in the interior wall of the outer hood sector. When fully opened, the hood is defined essentially by the stationary hood segment. When fully extended, the inner and outer hood sectors form a hemispherical enclosure with the hood segment, completely enclosing the compass face.

Abstract: A storage container is disclosed for items, such as tabulating cards, magnetic cards, magentic tape cassettes as well as smaller items. The container comprises an integrally formed tray to which container side panels are attached. Each of the side panels is larger than the side walls of the tray and contain a channel along the periphery for receiving a sliding closure means therein for closing the container. A second removable tray of substantially identical outer proportions as the first tray can be placed within the container above the first tray and can be seated on horizontal flanges integrally formed with the side panels. The flanges additionally impart structural rigidity to the container and have a number of notches for receiving members that divide the lower tray portion into compartments. The closure member has spaced transverse ribs bonded to a flexible fabriclike substrate.

Abstract: A storage unit comprising an outer structure within which is supported an inner structure the bottom and ends of which are spaced from the bottom and ends of the outer structure, said structures being comprised of a rigid synthetic foam material such as provides heat and shock resistance to articles stored within the unit and an articulated closure situated in the space between the structures which is arranged to be withdrawn therefrom along tracks provided in the side walls of the outer structure to cover the interior of the unit.

Abstract: A display container comprising a molded plastic base having spaced elongated oval sides tapering to a open curved front end and a larger curved rear end. A bottom wall extends integrally from the periphery of the sides in a continuous length from a point on the top adjacent the front, around the front end, along the bottom, around the rear end, and on to the top. The opening extends from the front to the rear edge of this wall. The sides have opposed grooves extending adjacent the edges. A plastic flexible cover is slidably mounted in the grooves so that when it is pulled forwardly against the front edge of the wall, the container is closed, and when it is pushed rearwardly, the container is opened. An elongated bar is pivotally mounted adjacent the front end. A support extends from the bar designed to hold an article, such as a travel clock, or a watch, for display.
