The tank halves have welding flanges (22a, 22b) that are placed against each other in the joint dividing plane (7) and are joined together by welding or melting of the flanges (22a,22b) to a watertight tank. The plate thickness is calculated according to the maximum test pressure of the tank and not limited by the welding. An efficient welding of the internal welding seam (24), by placing the tank in a rig and rotating the tank, provides safe protection against corrosion in the weld.

The wall is characterized by a thermal conductivity that is lower near its gravitational top than its gravitational bottom. The tank has two exit passageways, one being direct, and the other passing through a vapor shield that extends through the wall between two layers of aerogel. A control system controls the relative flow through the two passages to regulate the boil-off rate of the tank.

The first-level interlocking panels include at least retaining rib and at least one vertical support member. The third flange of each first-level interlocking panel includes a guide pin. The first flange of a first-level interlocking panel is connected via suitable fasteners to the second flange of an adjacent first-level interlocking panel. A number of second-level interlocking panels may be positioned on a top surface of the first-level interlocking panels. The second-level interlocking panels may be similar to the first-level interlocking panels. The guide pin of a first-level interlocking panel is inserted into a corresponding guide pin hole on the fourth flange of a corresponding second-level panel.

    Abstract: Reservoirs for fuel tanks, which can be filled via an opening that can be closed by a closing element, are already known. Such a closing element interacts with a sealing seat and is arranged on a bearing that is located in the region of the opening and is fixed to an edge area of the opening by at least two struts. In prior art, the opening, with the bearing and the struts, is often produced as a single-piece together with the reservoir and the base by injection molding. A disadvantage thereof is that the struts can undergo material shrinkage during production, which leads to a tension of the struts between the edge area of the opening and the bearing. This can lead to an irregular deformation and hence to an uneven sealing seat, so that the closing element does not seal in a tight manner and that the valve has a leak. in the reservoir according to the invention, the sealing of the opening is improved by at least one strut not having a rectilinear form, thus obtaining elastic expansion compensation.
