  • Patent number: 6892895
Abstract: A collapsible container configured to lay substantially flat in a collapsed position and maintain an extended or usable position by utilizing load-bearing means rigidly disposed among and affixed to various support members. The load-bearing means are adapted to receive support members and sustain the container in its usable position when a load is placed therein. The load bearing means resist movement of support members in the direction caused by the load exerted on the container. When the load is removed, the load-bearing means is adapted to permit the support members to be withdrawn there from so that the container may be transitioned to a substantially flat collapsed position.

  • Patent number: 6179150
Abstract: A folding wire frame includes first and second end panels and first and second pairs of hingedly coupled front and back panels, with each front and back panel also hingedly coupled to an adjacent end panel. When expanded, the folding wire frame forms a rectangular structure open at the top and bottom. Moving the two pairs of front and back panels inwardly toward one another where they are hingedly coupled allows the frame to be folded along its length in an accordion-like manner and to assume a collapsed configuration. The folded frame is adapted for insertion lengthwise in the open top of an upright refuse bag such as of paper and extends beyond the open top. The frame is then expanded, or unfolded, by grasping the front and back pairs of panels where they are hingedly coupled together and moving the front pair of panels away from the back pair of panels until the frame assumes a rectangular, semi-rigid configuration, with each panel engaging an inner surface of a side wall of the bag.

  • Patent number: 5967360
Abstract: A frictionally adjustable wire basket having a bottom or base section and a continuous, circumferential wall section connected thereto. The wall section is comprised of a plurality of intertwined, frictionally engaged resilient wire loops. Each of the wire loops also is connected to the base section in a hinged yet frictionally biased engagement. The basket wall can be moved in various configurations relative to the base section and secured in the desired configuration by the combination of the frictionally engaged intertwined wall loops and the frictionally engaged hinge connection. The wall is capable of movement about the hinged connection from a nearly vertical relationship to the base section to a flat arrangement for packing and shipping. The base section and the wall loops can be constructed from any appropriate resilient material such as wire.

  • Patent number: 5305686
Abstract: An improved basket for the preparation of fried food products includes a wire mesh bottom wall and three upstanding wire mesh side walls. A perforate gate is pivotally attached along the fourth side of the basket and is secured in a closed configuration by a latching arm pivotally attached to a top edge of each side wall. Handles including a grip are also attached to the top edge of the side walls and can be used for the insertion and removal of the basket containing food products from a hot oil bath. The fried food products can be gently removed from the basket and deposited onto a worktable by conveniently tilting the basket to an inclined orientation so that the latching arm disengages from the gate either by gravity or by downward pressure on a lever arm attached thereto.
