Patent number: 8714392Abstract: A lid includes a first surface defining a cavity, a first joint defining an inlet, a second joint defining an outlet, a center hole communicating with the inlet, a circular channel communicating with the outlet and extending along a periphery of the first surface, and a number of branch channels radially extending from the center hole to the circular channel. The first surface includes a screen plate retained within the cavity, capable of letting the side-effect particles adhere thereon. Each of the plurality of branch channels communicates with the center hole and the circular channel, allowing liquid of a predetermined temperature to circulate within the lid.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2012Date of Patent: May 6, 2014Assignee: Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shao-Kai Pei

Patent number: 8607813Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for reducing the oxygen content drawn from the atmosphere that enters the insulating fluid-containing expansion vessel of high-voltage systems. The apparatus is provided with inner and outer tanks that include a liquid that provides a diffusion barrier for capturing oxygen from the atmosphere. The tanks are in communication with the atmosphere on one side of the barrier and in communication with the expansion vessel on the other side of the barrier. Further provided is a moisture-capturing dehumidifier upstream of the diffusion barrier to dry the gas passing into the expansion vessel. The apparatus limits degradation of the insulation system caused by moisture and oxygen, thereby increasing the life span of the high-voltage system.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2009Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: GATRON GmbHInventor: Eckhard Braesel

Patent number: 7654410Abstract: A vehicle reservoir tank has an anti-spill chamber and an overflow channel. The anti-spill chamber has a body portion, an inlet at one end of the body portion and an outlet at another end of body portion. The anti-spill chamber is configured and arranged to restrict fluid flowing from a main reservoir chamber. The overflow channel has a first end portion, a second end portion and an intermediate curved portion. The first end portion is fluidly coupled to the outlet of the anti-spill chamber. The intermediate curved portion extends from the first end portion to the second end portion such that the second end portion of the overflow channel extends downwardly relative to the first end portion. The second end portion extends along an area of the body portion of the anti-spill chamber to restrict the flow from the anti-spill chamber.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2006Date of Patent: February 2, 2010Assignee: Nissan Technical Center North America, Inc.Inventors: Antonio Prince, John R. Patent number: 7044327Abstract: A supplemental fluid tank, preferably having two chambers each partially containing a fluid, fluid communicated intermediate a fuel tank and vent to reduce fuel vapor emissions, particularly for a boat. More specifically, when fuel is used or cooled, pressure or volume, respectively, of the remaining fuel in the fuel tank is reduced in prior art systems. Accordingly, air is drawn into the fuel tank through the vent line and becomes saturated with fuel (i.e., fuel vapor). Conversely, when fuel in the fuel tank is warmed it expands and fuel vapor is forced out of the vent into the environment. An exemplary embodiment reduces entry of air in through the vent and escape of fuel vapor out of the vent using two intermediate chambers in fluid communication with each other, each preferably having a non-evaporative fluid (e.g., oil), to provide volume/pressure compensation of the fuel in the fuel tank.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2004Date of Patent: May 16, 2006Inventor: Stephen P. Patent number: 5449029Abstract: An apparatus for controlling fuel vapor discharge from within a vehicle fuel tank includes a valve housing having vapor inlet and outlet openings, a float valve in the valve housing, and a skirt extending around the valve housing to define an annular channel therebetween. The float valve is movable in the valve housing to open and close the vapor outlet opening. The skirt has a bottom edge adapted to lie in spaced-apart relation to a top wall of a fuel tank carrying the valve housing. The vapor inlet opening lies between the outlet opening and the bottom edge of the skirt, which edge is positioned to lie in coextensive relation with a top surface of liquid fuel in the interior region of the fuel tank equal to a predetermined maximum fuel capacity of the fuel tank. The skirt is configured to cause a pump nozzle to shut off at the proper time during refueling.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1994Date of Patent: September 12, 1995Assignee: Stant Manufacturing Inc.Inventor: Robert S. Patent number: 5183087Abstract: The invention incorporates a high flow, pilot actuated pressure relief/rollover valve into a refueling vapor recovery system having a vapor vent line for recirculating vapor past the aspirator of a refueling nozzle and a nozzle seal for engaging a refueling nozzle in an airtight manner. All vapor of evaporative hydrocarbons created during the act of refueling are routed directly to an onboard storage canister.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1991Date of Patent: February 2, 1993Assignee: Borg-Warner Automotive Electronic & Mechanical Systems CorporationInventors: John A. Patent number: 5103877Abstract: A tank vapor vent valve for a vehicle on board fuel emissions vapor recovery system has a liquid-vapor separator integrated into its design. A blocking valve is held closed when the tank is not being filled, but springs open when the nozzle is inserted to fill the tank, allowing venting flow out of the tank. A cup suspended below the valve catches entrained liquid fuel to keep it out of the canister line, and pulls the blocking valve shut when full. When the nozzle is removed, a drain plug at the bottom of the cup is automatically pushed open.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1991Date of Patent: April 14, 1992Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventors: Carl H.
