  • Patent number: 6923339
Abstract: A sealing plug for a liquid-filled container having a lower opening therein with an extended skirt thereon. The plug comprises a peripheral cylindrical wall for sealingly engaging the skirt of the container. The plug further has a flanged annular base extending inward from the peripheral wall and has two or more supports extended upward therefrom, the supports each have an upper end for collectively supporting an ornament within the container. The plug further has a flexible inner wall extending upward from the annular base, to a height lower than the height of the supports, and contoured around and inboard of the supports. The plug finally has a flexible diaphragm extending across the upper end of the inner wall for compensating for changes in volume and pressure of the liquid within the container.

  • Publication number: 20040262309
Abstract: A lid for a container comprises a groove for engagement with a rim of the container. The dimensions of the lid may be reduced sufficiently that the groove can be disengaged from the rim of the container without the use of a tool. An elastomeric section is moulded between two polypropylene sections such that when the recesses are squeezed together, the elastomeric section deforms and thereby allows a sufficient reduction in the diameter of the lid that the lid can be removed from the container without the use of a tool. A catch may be provided across the elastomeric section such that when the catch is in the closed position, the elastomeric section is prevented from deforming and the lid cannot be easily removed from the container.

  • Patent number: 6805256
Abstract: The pump dispenser plug is a flexible, conical plug that could be easily adapted through the use of removable layers to fit any type of pump dispenser container. When the container is not in use, the plug would be inserted into the pump nozzle opening to prevent the contents from drying and collecting on the outside tip. The plug has a circular base with a perpendicular shaft upon which is mounted a conical structure comprised of removable layers. The conical layers are formed of flexible plastic, and each has a longitudinal access slit cut along its outer surface. To reduce the size of the plug for smaller nozzle openings, the user would simply peel off the appropriate number of layers and discard them.

  • Publication number: 20040056039
Abstract: A reusable pull plug for masking part openings in parts to be coated or otherwise worked upon. The pull plug has particular utility in masking irregular surface portions about the part opening including, without limitation threaded, chamfered, stepped and spot faced surfaces. The pull plug is comprised of a deformable, segmented body including plug, transition and tail body segments. A flange and void volume, or “dimple,” are formed in one plug body end adjacent the plug segment. The pull plug is pulled into the part opening by the tail segment and the plug segment forms a frictional fit with the deformable body tightly sealing the part opening. The flange covers the first thread in threaded part openings and further covers chamfered, stepped and spot faced surfaces protecting those surfaces from contact by the coating or other materials.
