The side wall includes a first side area, wherein the plug is formed of a elastically deformable material and has a diameter at rest and resiliency enabling the plug to block, and be held in, a top portion of the attachment opening via resilient change in shape; and the top surface includes at least one first blind hole, the shape of which is such that, when the plug is subjected to an elastic deformation that causes a ridge to appear between the top surface and the first side area of the plug, the ridge is removed by elastic deformation of the blind hole.

Abstract: A container (10) has a base (12) on a cap (14). The container (10) has a chamber (38) for liquid. The base (12) on the cap (14) are arranged to be interengaged so as to seal hermetically the chamber (38). The base (12) and the cap (14) have multi-sided portions which interengaged to form the hermetic seal. The cap (14) has outwardly flared sides so that as the cap (14) is rotated relative to the base (12) the cap is caused to move out of the base and the hermetic seal is broken so that the contents of the chamber (38) may be accessed.

Abstract: A stopper for closing a dispensing opening of a container which includes a body element having a top face and a bottom face, the bottom face being directed towards the inside of the container; a moving element which is situated at the top face of the body element, wherein the moving element is movable from an initial position in which the moving element does not extend beyond the top face in the plane of the top face, to an opening position in which the moving element is moved to extend at least partly beyond the outer extension of the top face, wherein the moving element provides, a gripping surface for a user to remove the body element from the dispensing opening. The moving element substantially covers the entire top face of the body element in the initial position.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to a stopper (1) for closing a dispensing opening (70) of a container (8). The stopper comprises a body element (2) for closing the dispensing opening, the body element having a top face (20) and a bottom face (22), the bottom face being directed towards the inside of the container; a moving element (3) which is situated at the top face (20) of the body element (2), wherein the moving element is movable relative to the body element from an initial position in which the moving element does not extend beyond the outer extension of the top face (20) in the plane of the top face of the body element, to an opening position in which the moving element is moved relative to the body element to extend at least partly beyond the outer extension of the top face (20) of the body element (2) in the plane of the body element, wherein the moving element provides, in the opening position, a gripping surface (32) for a user to remove the body element from the dispensing opening.

The disposal device includes a cylindrical shell receptacle, a cap cover, and a clearing mechanism, adapted for removing objects from the receptacle. The clearing mechanism includes a lateral member, adapted to collect objects from the receptacle and a longitudinal member, implemented for conveying a physical force for the translation of the lateral member or serves as an actuator for the commencement of the translation.

Abstract: A liquid container (10) has a base (12) and a cap (14) which interengage to form a hermetically sealed chamber (42). The cap (14) has a curved outer wall (18) and the base has a curved inner wall (36). The outer and inner walls (18, 36) have perspective non-circular portions and are of complementary shape. The cap (14) is able to be rotated axially relative to the base (12) by means of a handle (24) so that the outer and inner curved walls (18, 36) interact such that the cap (14) is released from the base (12) upon axial rotation thereof and the hermetic seal is broken.

Abstract: A cover for covering an opening of a container for a food stuff includes a substantially flat cover body including at least one aperture and at least one substantially flat flap. The at least one flap including a linear proximal end configured to connect with the cover body and allow the at least one flap to rotate with respect to the cover body. A lower surface of the at least one flap includes a protrusion configured to close the at least one aperture when the at least one flap is at a first position in which the at least one flap is in parallel with the cover body. The cover body and the at least one flap are integrally formed by a co-injection molding. The container and cover are suitable for heating a food stuff in a microwave.

Abstract: A lid that can be sealed to a container to provide packaging includes an edge with a pull tab which facilitates removal of the lid from the container. The lid and pull tab are injection molded integrally, and the pull tab has the form of a flexible grid-like flap that is bendable to a substantially upright position. The pull tab is formed by a number of spaced, parallel and interconnected bars that extend in a direction substantially at right angles to the direction of pulling of the pull tab.

Abstract: A snap-on closure container is provided that comprises a body having a sidewall that is configured to engage a container neck. The snap-on closure also comprises a pull member for removing the closure from the container neck. The pull member includes an annulus that is dimensioned to fit tightly around the sidewall in a stowed position. The pull member is movable from the stowed position to a deployed position so that the pull member can be used to remove the closure from the container neck. Once the closure is removed, the sidewall is configured to re-engage the container neck, and the annulus is configured to be re-fitted around the sidewall in the stowed position so as to tighten the closure around the container neck.

Abstract: A lockable, reversible lid for a container having a lip. The lid includes a cover having a perimeter, a first side and a second side. A locking tab pivotally extends from an end portion of the perimeter, such that the locking tab is disposable between the container body and the container lip when the lid is positioned upon the container with the first side disposed toward the container. The lid may be inverted by slipping the locking tab past the container lip, removing the lid, and setting the inverted lid on the container with the first side disposed away from the container.

Abstract: A storage container assembly comprises a storage receptacle and a removable lid. The storage receptacle has a base and a continuous sidewall connected to the base. The sidewall projects upward from the base to a peripheral edge. The removable lid has a rigid central cover portion and a flexible seal portion that traverses a perimeter of the rigid central portion. The flexible seal portion has a release tab disposed along its periphery, and a pocket disposed inward of the release tab. The flexible seal portion further has a ledge disposed generally at the periphery of the flexible seal portion. The ledge contacts the peripheral edge of the storage receptacle. The flexible seal portion further has and a blade portion disposed below the ledge. The blade portion contacts the side wall of the storage receptacle and forms a generally fluid-tight seal with the sidewall.

Abstract: A tamper-evident rigid plastic food container system wherein the outer periphery of the mating surfaces of the lid and tray are permanently bonded together after the food product has been placed in the tray, a set of perforated rows at an inner periphery, the interconnect of which needs to be torn in order to open the lid. Intentional, inadvertent, or malicious ingress into the container can only be made by tearing at the perforations and thereby evidencing the potential tampering and contamination of the packaging contents. The lid and tray edges may further include mechanical interference fits, including snap-fit grips that may be of the releasably lockable kind to permit sealing, release, and re-sealing multiple times without deterioration in reliability, and which can further prevent or minimize leakage of liquid food product.

Abstract: The invention provides composite covers and reclosable containers using the covers. In a general embodiment, the composite cover includes a flexible lid and an overcap rim fixedly attached to the flexible lid. The flexible lid includes a flexible layer, a metallic layer, and a sealant layer. A tab can be attached to at least one of the flexible layer and the metallic layer to provide a method for opening the container.

Abstract: A device and system for temporarily sealing an orifice in a beverage container lid, comprising a plug having an upper surface, a body portion and a lower surface, said body portion adapted to be inserted and releasably retained in the orifice to provide a temporary seal thereof, and an external member located on the upper surface of the plug configured to allow a user to grip the plug for ease of removal from the orifice.

An edge (4) of the lid (3) is provided with a pull tab (5) facilitating the removal of the lid (3) from the container (2). The lid (3) and pull tab (5) are injection moulded integrally, and the pull tab (5) has the form of a flexible grid-like flap that is bendable to a substantially upright position. Abstract: Nano-silver infused container arrangements are presented including: a nano-silver infused container body defining at least one opening; and a nano-silver infused container lid configured to close off the at least one opening. In some embodiments, the arrangement is a composition of a polymeric compound and a concentration of nano-silver particles. In some embodiments, the polymeric compound includes polyvinyl-pyrrolidione, polypropylene and polycarbonate.

Abstract: A removable serving lid is provided that sealingly covers the opening of a pet food can. A sealing sidewall extending downward form a flexible lid cover circumscribes the upper opening of a pet food can, and thereby forms an air-tight seal. The flexible material is designed to apply and remove easily, even when cold such as to accommodate refrigeration of any un-dispensed contents of a pet food can. A gripping flange extending laterally outward from the perimeter of the sidewall provides a gripping surface to facilitate removal of the sealed lid. Finally, an adjustable scoop is perpendicularly disposed through the flexible lid cover through a scoop aperture that seals against the handle of the scoop, maintaining a sealed environment even as the sloop is vertically adjusted into the contents of the food can.

Abstract: A closure assembly for a container. The closure assembly includes a lid that sealingly engages a dispensing outlet in a closed position and is spaced a distance from the dispensing outlet in an open position. The closure assembly also includes a tab extending from a bottom portion of the lid and having a surface of sufficient dimension to engage a finger or thumb such that pressure on the surface of the tab with the finger or thumb transmits an upward force to the lid to disengage the lid from the closed position.

Abstract: A selectively detachable container lid includes a center panel and a peripheral sealing lip surrounding the panel. The peripheral sealing lip has a generally inverted U-shaped cross section so as to define a channel into which a bowl rim fits. The lid also includes at least one ridge formed between the panel and the peripheral sealing lip. The ridge is interrupted by at least one gap. The ridge and the peripheral sealing lip partially overlap when viewed in a direction substantially normal to the panel. The ridge also abuts the bowl when the lid is placed loosely on the bowl. Also disclosed is a container that includes such a lid.

Abstract: A protective cap for a threaded valve stem includes a generally cylindrical portion including a closed end, an open end and a cylindrical wall portion therebetween. A plurality of locating ribs are located on an internal surface of the cylindrical wall portion. A plurality of fingers project radially inward from the internal surface between the locating ribs. A tear strip formed by two frangible members, and a pull tab are formed on an external surface of the cylindrical wall portion. Each finger is located between a pair of the locating ribs and has a flexible portion adjacent the internal surface for locating the fingers in unlocked state and a locked state. The fingers in the unlocked state are inclined toward the open end, and the fingers in the locked state curl toward the closed end.

Abstract: A covered food container or serving platter incorporates a cover stand as part of the structure of the container. The cover may be temporarily stored on the stand while the user obtains access to the container. In one embodiment a portion of the cover is received within a suitably configured retention area formed within the container. Another covered serving container utilizes a central support extending from the platter and a corresponding support that extends from the cover, with an interlocking possible at the maximum extension of each support, thus separating the cover from the platter. A further embodiment utilizes a pair of covers, one receivable upon another to enable a nesting storage with access available to the exposed container storage area. A surface rib and groove formed in corresponding surfaces of the two covers provides stability when in the nested configuration.

When the lid is positioned so as to cover the bowl, the cup is securable within the interior of the bowl, and when the lid is placed underneath the bowl, the bowl is supported at a height above at least a portion of the lid such that an air pocket is defined between the bowl and that portion of the lid. When the container is heated in a microwave, for example, the air pocket heats up to keep the contents of the container warm.

The wall terminates at a top edge and defines an open top of the base. A rim extends at least partially around the base and extends radially outward from the upstanding wall. A lid is removably received over the open top of the base. The lid has a generally horizontal section with a lid perimeter that engages the top edge of the wall. An opening tab extends radially outward from part of the lid perimeter a sufficient distance to define an exposed tab segment adjacent a portion of the rim.

Abstract: Reusable containers and lids with date indicating devices and methods for using the same are disclosed, which allow the user to indicate one or more of the following: a date when the contents were stored, a date when the contents should be used, a time when the contents should be used, and a date by which the contents should be disposed. The date indicating device may include a plurality of resettable buttons, each of which may be located atop an individual platform. Both the buttons and the platforms may take on a variety of different shapes.

Abstract: There is provided a container having both male and female sealing regions disposed about its periphery in a pattern making it possible to seal a container with another container having substantially identical sealing regions. The male sealing regions used in the practice of the present invention may take the form of a U-shaped ridge which is undercut along at least one leg of the U. Typically, a container will be thermoformed from lightweight thermoplastic material giving the U-shaped ridge considerable flexibility. The female sealing regions used in the practice of the invention may take the form of an undercut channel adapted to receive and match the undercut U-shaped ridges found in the male portion of the container wherein the walls and base of the channel are sufficiently flexible that the undercut portions of the U-shaped ridge are urged into engagement with the undercut portions of the channel and the crest of the ridge is urged into the channel.

Abstract: A cover or lid device for attachment to a depressed top portion of a beverage can, said top portion being of a type having as an integral unit a wall, a can top member with pouring aperture providing means, and a recessed portion bridging said wall and said top member, said cover or lid device comprising a plate member, a circumferential ring member integral with said plate member, and a resilient member member attached to an outside face of said ring member, said resilient member having in cross section an upper lip portion, a lower bead portion and a concave portion therebetween, said lip portion for engaging said wall and said bead portion for fitting into said recessed portion. Said resilient member may be made from a soft material, such as soft plastics. An edible or non-edible article may be accomodated between said plate member and said can top member.

Abstract: A container lid and cutting board apparatus includes a rigid central panel portion and a flexible peripheral container-connector portion attached to the central panel portion. The peripheral container-connector portion includes a bridging ring portion attached to the central panel portion, and a container rim reception flange is attached to the bridging ring portion. The central panel portion has a panel thickness. The bridging ring portion has a ring thickness, and the panel thickness is greater than the ring thickness. The central panel portion and the peripheral container-connector portion are made as a unified structure from a single piece of plastic material. When the container lid and cutting board apparatus is placed on a surface upside down, the central panel portion can be used as a cutting board.

Abstract: A container including a combination of a bowl and a selectively detachable lid is disclosed. The bowl is a unitary structure including an upwardly projecting wall having a peripherally extending substantially U-shaped sealing lip. The selectively detachable lid is also a unitary structure including a body having a peripheral sealing lip which mates with the sealing lip of the bowl and at least one laterally extending tab member to assist in removing the lid from the bowl. Both the bowl and lid portions are preferably made from a resilient polymeric material suitable for both freezing and microwave reheating.

Abstract: A resilient microwavable container including a bowl and a selectively detachable snap on lid. The lid includes a sealing lip including an outwardly extending rigid tab member and a body including a substantially annular reinforcing bead which is interrupted adjacent to the tab member. The combination of the rigid tab member in association with the interrupted annular bead allows for readily removing the lid from the bowl when desired with a low separation force.

Abstract: A container system includes a one-piece, one-way valve. The container system can be evacuated by pressing the lid, thereby forcing air out of the one-way valve. The one-way valve does not allow air to enter the container system. The one-way valve includes an interface or release which allows air to enter the container system when the interface is pressed. The one-way valve is preferably an umbrella-shaped valve made of a silicone or plastic.

Abstract: A container for housing a food dish includes a receiving shell defining a first cavity and a cover shell that is releasably lockable to the receiving shell for providing a cover with a second cavity over the first cavity. The cover shell has side walls with inward projections for entrapping the food dish seated within the receiving shell when the cover shell is releasably locked to the receiving shell.

Abstract: The disclosure describes the combination of a plastic container and of a plastic lid which are adapted to be hermetically sealed to one another. The lid defines a tab that projects outwardly and includes a tangentially extending indentation that separates the tab into an inner portion and an outer portion. The indentation forms a hinge so that upward forces exerted accidentally on the tab causes only the outer portion of the tab to pivot about the indentation thereby preventing the inner tab portion from lifting and detaching the hermetically sealed lid portion from the container. The hinge also serves to enable the tab to be placed in a downwards pivoted position where it is fixedly attached to the container side wall prior to being used.

Abstract: A device for removing a cork from a bottle opening. This is achieved by a cork retriever. The cork retriever has two components, a sleeve and a plunger. The sleeve is adapted to be driven through the cork member while the plunger is adapted to be driven into the sleeve to thereby lock the sleeve in the cork. The cork can then be removed by way of a pull ring which is positioned at the upper end of the sleeve.

Abstract: A container (10) includes a base portion (11) and a cover (12). The base portion (11) has a bottom surface (22) with opposed walls (23, 24, 25, 26) extending upwardly therefrom to form an open top to be closed by the cover (12). A handle (30) is formed on opposed corners (27). A flap (18) is positioned on one of the corners (17) of the cover (12), the corner (17) being selected such that the flap (17) will not be positioned over a corner (27) of the base portion (11) carrying a handle (30). The base portion (11) is also divided by a wall (31) of the shape of an inverted U so that the base portion (11) of one container (10) can be stacked on the base portion of a like container.
