Abstract: Tamper-evident features for containers. A tamper-evident film is target printed onto a sheet material that is thermoformable. The sheet is thermoformed into a container base or lid having a desired shape, such that the tamper-evident film is positioned in a desired area. A container lid is disposed on the container base, and heat sealed to a rim or edge of the container base. The heat sealing activates an adhesive of the tamper-evident film, and when the container lid is removed or separated from the container base, a first portion of the tamper-evident film remains on the container lid and a second portion remains on the container base. The separation of the tamper-evident film provides an indication of tampering.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to containers for holding non-food items having a living hinge and a quad or multi seal structure on the lid such that the seal created by the contact of the lid with the inside of the cup or container ensures a secure, friction fit orientation to prevent spillage or leakage of the contents therein. The quad or multi directional seal is created by multiple ribs on the lid that securably fit within the base of the container and indentations oriented in the bases, or by multiple ribs on the lid that securably fit within a channel structure in the top of the base of the container, the channel structure having the indentations in order to create a secure fit.

Abstract: A system and method are described for improved connector position assurance. A latch stop mechanism (10) on a first connector may be used to selectively limit movement of a latch (50) and attached latch lock (54) after the latch lock (54) has been engaged to secure the first connector to a second connector. The latch stop (10) mechanism may be attached to the connector housing (80) and have a series of hinges (12), (16) that allow a latch stop (10) to pivot into place, limiting movement of the latch (50) and latch lock (54). A terminal position assurance (TPA) (30) may be located on the bottom of the connector main body and when engaged, ensures proper positioning of the engaged wire terminal.

Abstract: The electric connector including a housing formed with a plurality of holes into each of which a terminal is inserted, the holes being aligned in a line in a first direction, a rear holder connected to the housing through a hinge such that the rear holder is rotatable relative to the housing, a first engagement unit for connecting the rear holder and the housing to each other, the first engagement unit being arranged at at least one of opposite ends in the first direction, and a second engagement unit for preventing the rear holder and the housing from separating from each other after the rear holder and the housing are connected to each other, the second engagement unit being situated between the holes located adjacent to each other.

Abstract: A cover for a pie pan or similar type of pan or plate has a ring and a lid pivotally attached to the ring by a flex joint. A pan is placed into the ring with a lip of the pan resting on top of the ring. The cover is folded over and pressed down onto the ring. Interlocking elements on tabs on the ring and lid engage each other and hold the lid down onto the ring, with the lip of the pan between them. The lid may include inwardly projecting teeth spaced apart on an inside surface of the lid, with the teeth adapted to hold the lip of a pan between the ring and the lid.

The container lid is attached to the container body by a living hinge such that the entire plastic container is a one-piece construction. The container lid is pre-curved such that in an open state the container lid is curved. However, when the container lid mates with the container body in a closed state, at least a portion of the container lid that was previously curved becomes substantially planar such that portions of the lid remain biased into the container body. The container can also incorporate a carrying feature for receiving and positioning articles therein, as well as a sealing chamfer for reducing the likelihood of the ingress of foreign matter into an interior cavity of the container.

Abstract: A plastic container includes a first portion including an outwardly extending peripheral flange and a second portion including an outwardly extending peripheral flange. The first portion and the second portion define a container volume. The plastic container also includes a hinge joining the peripheral flange of the first portion and the peripheral flange of the second portion. The hinge includes a pivot line and two arcuate segments proximate to respective ends of the pivot line. The pivot line is tangent the peripheral flange of the first portion and tangent to at least a portion of each arcuate segment. The flange of the first portion can extend further than the flange of the second portion proximate each end of the pivot line to create a seamless periphery about the hinge relative to a periphery of the first portion when the container is closed.

The container cavity (20) is defined by a pair of lids (14, 16) which are hingedly connected to one another. Primary lock means (50) includes a first lock assembly on one lid (14, 16) which engages with a second lock assembly on the other lid (14, 16). A primary lock actuation includes an externally open topped pocket (60) formed in the body of said one lid (14, 16). The pocket (60) has a pocket side wall (62) which is resiliently deflectable from a lock position to an unlock position. The pocket (60) is shaped and sized to permit a finger of an operative to enter the pocket (60) to effect deflection of the pocket side wall (62) to its unlock position.

Abstract: A carton for containing a product. The carton comprises a plurality of panels that extends at least partially around an interior of the carton. The plurality of panels comprises a first end panel, a first side panel, a second end panel, and a second side panel. A plurality of end flaps is respectively foldably connected to a respective panel of the plurality of panels for closing an end of the carton. The plurality of end flaps comprises a first end flap foldably connected to the first side panel and a second end flap foldably connected to second side panel. The first end flap and the second end flap have cooperating features for interlocking engagement of the end flaps in a closed configuration of the carton.

Abstract: The present invention pertains to a closure cap for a container, the closure cap including a top part connectable to a container body via a hinge, the top part being pivotable about the hinge. The top part further includes a sealing skirt to sealingly engage with an opening of the container body, and the top part includes a desiccant chamber for accommodating a desiccant. A spring element for pre-tensioning products received in the container body, the spring element extending from the top part in a single loop, is also an element of the container.

Abstract: A tamper evident container includes a first container portion, a second container portion, and a tamper evident closure. The tamper evident closure includes a first snap connected to the first container portion, a second snap connected to the second container portion, a tear strip connected to the second snap, and a third snap connected to the tear strip. In a closed position, the first snap is placed in a cavity in the second snap, the third snap is placed in a cavity in the first snap, and the tear strip faces outward from the taper evident container. The container is opened by removing the tear strip and then separating the first snap from the second snap.

The seal cap includes a lid, two annular sealing walls extending downward from the lid and adapted to seal the reservoirs, two closed dome-shaped structures extending upward from the lid and the annular sealing walls, a locking tab hingedly attached to and extending substantially co-planar with and outward from the lid, and a lid extension extending upward from the upper lid surface. The locking tab has a longitudinal slot therethrough and can be moved from its normal outwardly position to a securing position in which the longitudinal slot engages a securing member comprised in the base wall, preventing the seal cap from being unseated from the reservoirs.

A cap for the container has a depression constructed and arranged to fit tightly over a top rim of the container body to seal the contents within the hollow interior. The cap can be pried upward to an open position to allow access to the hollow interior. An opening tab hinged to the cap normally extends downward alongside the container body when the cap is closed, but is swingable upward to a horizontal orientation. The tab and cap have cooperating abutments that limit further upward swinging of the tab relative to the cap such that the tab can be used to pry the cap open.

Abstract: A child-resistant lift-off cap for a container is adapted to be difficult to unseat independently to open the container. An overlay portion associated with the cap is adapted for use to lift the cap from a container to unseat it. The overlay portion has a thumb tab and is deformable to engage and lift the seated cap only when the thumb tab is lifted. The overlay portion raises independently of the cap when the deformable portion is not deformed into engagement with the cap. Alternatively, a lift-top cap having a slot through it, the slot having a first opening near an edge of the cap to be lifted to unseat the cap and a second opening. A slide in the slot has a first end biased to be flush with or recessed into the first opening and a second end biased to normally protrude out of the second opening. The second end of the slide can be depressed against the bias of the slide to displace the first end of the slide out of the first opening to function as a thumb tab to assist in lifting the cap from a container.

Hinge-connections are provided between the cap main body and the discharge cylinder body, and between the discharge cylinder body and the lid body, for allowing a selective opening of the main discharge cylinder and the auxiliary discharge cylinder, thereby readily changing the discharge amount or discharge mode of the content liquid.

One or more such leaves define a dispensing opening having a smaller diameter than the mouth of the container. The leaves or other undercut structure can be formed using a mold element having a leading portion for forming a portion of the part beyond the resilient projection and a following portion for forming a portion of the sidewall short of the resilient projection. The following portion is withdrawn at least partially away from the outside surface of the resilient projection, leaving a space between the leading and following portions. The leading portion is withdrawn from the mold cavity against an undercut portion of the resilient projection, folding the resilient projection into the space left by retracting the following portion.

The container includes a base having a pair of inwardly recessed pockets for capturing a pair of extending latching portions on a lid. The pair of extending latching portions has concave grooves allowing the extending latching portions to flex inwards from an initial position for insertion into the pair inwardly recessed pockets. When the pair of extending latching portions are inserted into the pair inwardly recessed pockets, the pair of extending latching portions expand back to their initial position and protrusions within the pair of inwardly recessed pockets retain the pair of extending latching portions creating a tight fit and preventing the lid of the container from being easily disengaged from the base of the container.

Abstract: A container which indicates if the lid (14) has been opened after a clerk loaded food into the base (12) and closed the lid. The base and lid each has a trapping portion (20, 22) and a pull-open portion (24, 32) with a tear-tab, or tear -open barrier (80). To close the lid, a clerk projects a tab (30) on the pull-open portion of the lid through a slot (26) in the pull-open portion of the base, and then presses down the entire trapping portion of the lid into the trapping portion of the base. The lid cannot be lifted up because the tear-open barrier (80) forming the top wall of the slot lies over the tab. To open the container, a person tears the barrier (80, FIG. 8) along a tear line (90, 92) extending from the slot (26) to the outer edge (50) of the base, or the person tears the tab to leave a short tab part that clears the barrier. The tab has a partially vertical stiffener (77) to prevent radially inward tab movement through the slot.
