  • Publication number: 20150122813
Abstract: The invention is directed to the mitigation of nuisance insects, predominantly common flies and wasps, attracted to and gathering in discarded food, spills and related waste in garbage receptacles. A solar-powered, programmable or programmed dispenser of an aerosol agent releases the aerosol agent into the waste receptacle at selected intervals. The solar panel acts both as a power source and as a dusk-to-daylight sensor to turn the dispenser system off at night when insect populations are less troublesome but on in the morning to clear any accumulated insects and prepare the receptacle for use during the day. The dispenser system of the invention reduces the exposure of visitors to stings suffered by both patrons of a given establishment as well as the sanitation workers providing for a more enjoyable recreational experience and workplace.

  • Patent number: 8727181
Abstract: Trash receptacles are rarely cleaned. These containers can contain germs and disease in them in many situations. This liquid dispensing device will spray a liquid of choice with in the interior of the trash receptacle automatically every time it is emptied and replaced onto the support surface. These liquids may drastically reduce the amount of bacteria, germs, insects, and disease with in the container. This device will provide this sanitation service automatically. This liquid dispensing device may be attached to industrial dumpsters as well as to residential trash containers. This device does not require a power supply.

  • Publication number: 20140027452
Abstract: A trash can with the deodorization and sterilization function contains a body with the cover and an ozone generator fixed in the body. The ozone generator is fixed at a predetermined position of the cover of the body and is in connection with a controlling member. The controlling member is mounted at a position of an inner surface of the cover adjacent to the body and couples with the ozone generator and a wire for electrically connecting with a power source, such that when the cover covers the body of the trash can, it triggers the controlling member by which the ozone generator is started to produce the ozone in the body, hence the odor from the litters is eliminated, and the bacteria are disinfected.

  • Patent number: 8146779
Abstract: An orienting skirt joined to an aerosol can, the orienting skirt having a generally arcuate rim extending outward such that when the can is placed on a flat surface, the rim urges the can into a predetermined generally stable horizontal configuration with the discharge nozzle oriented in an upright direction. A full release actuator is disposed adjacent to the valve stem of the aerosol can and has a trigger and a discharge nozzle such that when the trigger is pressed the contents of the aerosol can are dispensed through the discharge nozzle. With the discharge nozzle in an upright direction, the contents of the can are dispersed more evenly on the interior surfaces of the trash can.

  • Publication number: 20110303664
Abstract: The Trash Can Fogger is a deodorizer and disinfectant that infuses a refuse container with a refreshing, sanitary substance when impacted on the inner surface of the unit. This product is packaged in a pressurized metal canister, which releases a measured portion of its contents in response to applied pressure. A safety tab removed prior to use is incorporated into the design of the dispenser nozzle, thus preventing accidental release of the spray. In addition, encircling the top of the canister is a raised rim, which prevents the dispenser nozzle from coming into contact with other objects, should the canister be knocked over or fall to the ground. The exterior of the Trash Can Fogger boasts the product logo, while important safety information and instructions for use are boldly imprinted on the back of the unit. Inside, a pressurized vapor made up of non-toxic, environmentally safe disinfectant and deodorizing solution, upon release, linger in the air, attaching to airborne bacteria and odor molecules.

  • Patent number: 7878359
Abstract: A trash can with a deodorizing mechanism comprises a body having an opening formed at the top of the body, a lid pivotally coupled to the top of the body for performing an opening or closing movement, and a deodorizing mechanism installed on the body and including a bottle and a nozzle. The nozzle includes an actuating element propped by an elastic body to provide a restoring elasticity, such that if the lid is closed and covered onto the opening, the actuating element will be pressed by the lid to compress the elastic body, and the nozzle will suck a deodorant stored in the bottle and spray the deodorant towards the interior of the body. If the lid is closed and covered onto the opening, the elastic body will be compressed to slow down the closing movement of the lid.
