Adjustable Size Patents (Class 221/304)
  • Patent number: 4658983
Abstract: In this tubular cup dispenser, resilient cup-engaging fingers are secured to the inner wall of a tubular housing and extend both forwardly toward a front opening and radially inwardly. At the foremost end of each finger is a radially outwardly extending leg. Each leg has a forwardly extending foot which is guided by a radially extending slot in a ring attached to the tubular housing and surrounding the front opening. The inner face of the ring and the legs have interengaging teeth which, when engaged, prevent radial movement of the cup-engaging fingers. Disengagement of the teeth and adjustment of the fingers is accomplished by manipulation of the forwardly extending feet.

  • Patent number: 4298142
Abstract: An article holder and dispenser assembly including an elongate hollow container especially suitable for storing and dispensing nested articles such as ice cream cones, cups and the like is disclosed herein along with a particular arrangement including article retaining members for releasably retaining articles of different sizes at the discharge end of the container. The overall assembly, as disclosed, also includes a retainer locking ring removably positioned within the hollow container and cooperating with the article retaining members for preventing the latter from allowing the articles, once dispensed, from being reinserted back into the container through the discharge end.

  • Patent number: 4261480
Abstract: An article holder and dispenser including an elongate hollow container especially suitable for storing and dispensing nested articles such as ice cream cones, cups and the like is disclosed herein along with a particular arrangement for releasably retaining articles of different sizes at the discharge end of the container. This arrangement utilizes a plurality of article retaining elements having resilient but wear resistent article retaining segments located within the hollow container adjacent its discharge opening for establishing the effective size of the opening and for releasably retaining the articles to be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4234101
Abstract: There is disclosed a cup dispenser which employs a cam actuated cup accommodating and release assembly. A cam ring employs four cam surfaces about the periphery thereof. Each cam surface is associated with a flexible rocker arm. The cam ring is rotatably mounted within a dispenser housing and upon rotation of the ring by means of an associated lever, the rocker arms are moved inwardly or outwardly according to the diameter and dimensions of a cup to be accommodated. The position of the cam ring in regard to the rocker arm is predetermined according to fixed graduations associated with the lever mechanism. The rocker arms have a unique surface configuration which coacts with the cups to enable the top most cup to be withdrawn, while simultaneously exerting a counter force on succeeding cups within the stack. The force is in a direction to retain these cups within the housing, thus facilitating the removal of one cup at a time.

  • Patent number: 4085863
Abstract: Folded documents are singly fed from the bottom of a stack by an ejector having a pin, hook or catch along one edge which moves below the bottom of the stack and is selectably slidable so as to engage the lowermost document. The lowermost document is slidingly delivered through an aperture by the ejector which, in one embodiment, grips the rear edge of the document while, in other embodiments, the bottom surface of the lowermost document is embedded with a pin or otherwise frictionally engaged. An adjustable slide restrictor plate can be positioned so as to prevent more than one document from exiting from a slot while permitting sufficient vertical motion of the plate so as to accommodate variable document thicknesses such as from folding irregularities associated with the document being ejected. An additional plate follows the top of the document stack and includes an engaging stub to prevent machine actuation when the stack has been depleted.

  • Patent number: 4079858
Abstract: A nested cone holder and dispenser making use of an adjustable cone release mechanism for safely dispensing different selected sizes of fragile products such as ice cream cones, cups and the like. The device employs an elongate flexible container for holding cones, cups and the like nested items to be dispensed, together with the cooperating adjustable release mechanism which dispenses individual nested items from the bottom without crushing the edges of the same. The release mechanism includes pads of brush-like material carried at the lower end or edge margin of the container and positioned adjacent the discharge opening. The pads are mounted on rigid U-shaped clips which are readily removable and which can be disposed variously around the lower edge margin to vary the effective size of the dispensing opening.
