  • Patent number: 6554159
Abstract: Dispensing device can include a looped member having a plurality of stiff segments connected by hinges. For instance, the device can have five or six stiff segments connected by living hinges, at least three of which face outward and the other(s) inward in relation to the looped member. The device with six stiff segments can fold up so as to be placed inside a beverage container. As well, a dispensing device can have a member upon which a can or carton can rest and a reversible can-stop connected to it. The can-stop can be formed by a small, reversibly folding loop at one end of the member. In general, cylindrical objects exiting an opened carton can be restrained by providing a dispensing device having a generally flat base member and a can-stop; placing the base member under the objects in the carton with the can-stop outside the carton; and allowing at least one of the objects to roll from inside the carton to outside the carton where it is stopped by the can-stop.

  • Publication number: 20020185499
Abstract: A multicarton pack which can be easily separated into individual cartons, without destroying the integrity of any of the cartons in the pack. Cartons may have an improved dispenser at one end of the carton, which preserves the integrity of the carton when the carton is opened by permitting a bottom end flap attached to the bottom panel to remain in place and also a portion of each side end flap that is adjacent to the bottom end flap. The dispenser may also provide a safety net for the first container that is automatically dispensed when the carton is opened. This is achieved by a novel method of providing a pattern of cuts in adjoining side walls of the cartons and for the cartons to be glued together by gluing the cuts on one of the adjoining side walls. The location of glue spots and their size and number are sufficient to maintain the pack together but yet allow the cartons to be separated without destroying the integrity of the panels glued together.

  • Patent number: 5429346
Abstract: In terms of their operational reliability, apparatuses for discharging from a magazine of flat-laid packaging container blanks of the type used for manufacturing packaging containers for liquid contents are greatly dependent upon the quality of the packaging container blanks themselves. In the event of variations in friction or abutment pressure between the packaging container blanks, there is a risk that more than one blank is discharged at a time, or alternatively that no blank is discharged at all. In order to ensure a dependable function with repeated discharge of one blank at a time and at a predetermined rate, the apparatus according to the present invention includes a pivotal lever provided with at least one suction cup. The lever displaces one packaging container blank at a time from the discharge end of a magazine past a segmented wheel which grasps the discharged blank between a rubber cladding and a counter wheel for further advancement to a conveyor.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for dispensing rollable articles from a package, container or the like. The apparatus includes a retainer for placement over an opening in a package to prevent rollable articles contained in the package from rolling en masse out of the package. The retainer also defines a port for controllably dispensing rollable articles from the package. In addition, the apparatus includes a holder for rollingly receiving an article controllably dispensed from the package through the port. The holder is capable of holding the dispensed articles to enable an individual to remove an article from the holder by grasping it. In addition, an attachment means is provided which cooperates with the retainer for securing the retainer to the package over the package's opening.

  • Patent number: 5390820
Abstract: An elevating dispenser for flexible sheet materials and more particularly for interleafed cosmetology end papers. The flexible sheets are contained in a carton with a dispensing aperture in the top wall. The dispensing aperture has flaps to retain the end of successively drawn sheets above the aperture for ease of withdrawal. The stack of sheets rests within the carton on an elevating platform which is flexibly attached on two opposing sides to the base of the adjacent side walls of the carton by flexibly folded extension panels which allow upward urging of the elevating platform. This facilitates the removal of sheets from a stack of diminishing thickness as the sheets are removed, one at a time. The elevating platform is retained in progressively upward positions by friction between its edges and the inside surfaces of the carton walls and by tabs in the end walls which are pressed into the chamber of the carton beneath the elevating platform.

Abstract: An adjustable tissue box (20) for accommodation of tissues (26) significantly larger in quantity, in comparison with an average tissue box, while all tissues (26) are allowed to be successively dispensed, comprising: a series of ascending steps (22) and a tissue tray (24). The ascending steps (22) are formed by way of series of triangular holes (23) punched to the two opposites walls of the box (20) and bent to elongated V-shapes. The tissue tray (24) that is preferably made of cardboard, is placed under the tissues (26), to advance the tissues toward the opening (28) of the box (20) as required. The bouncing capacity of the walls of the box (20), allows the tray (24) to fall in place without being damaged or damaging the steps (22) as it shifts from one step to the next.
