Patent number: 4219129Abstract: A moist tissue dispenser in which a web of absorbent sheet material divided by transverse lines of perforations into interconnecting tissue is saturated with a liquid cleansing agent and coiled into a roll having a hollow core, the roll being housed within an open-mouthed container. The leading end tissue of the roll extends upwardly from the core and passes through a frusto-conical central orifice in a removable cover received over the mouth of the container. The orifice functions as a converging passage whose constriction forces the end tissue to rope and to effectively plug the orifice, thereby maintaining the container in a sealed state to prevent evaporation of the cleansing agent. The orifice constriction and its configuration are such as to impose a drag on the roped end tissue as it is pulled from the dispenser by a user and funnelled through the orifice.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 1979Date of Patent: August 26, 1980Inventor: Henry D. Patent number: 4138034Abstract: A dispensing package for individual sheets pre-moistened with a volatile component. The package comprises a container impervious to the volatile component with a stack of the pre-moistened sheets therein in discrete, interleaved condition. One surface of the package has a restrictive dispensing orifice so sized as to just permit the passage therethrough of two of the pre-moistened sheets in tightly gathered form so that, as each sheet is pulled through the orifice, it will pull a sufficient amount of the next sheet of the stack through the orifice to be conveniently grasped by the consumer when desired and to serve as a plug for the orifice until it is extracted therefrom by the consumer. During the packaging process a sufficient portion of the topmost sheet of the stack is caused to extend beyond the opening to enable the consumer to grasp the topmost sheet and extract it without having to open the package container and pre-start the topmost sheet through the dispensing orifice.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1976Date of Patent: February 6, 1979Assignee: The Procter & Gamble CompanyInventor: Robert F.
