  • Patent number: 10377546
Abstract: A reclosable flexible package is described that includes an inner film layer, an outer film layer laminated to the inner film layer, and reclose region defined in a portion of package film layers. The reclose region includes pressure sensitive adhesive disposed between the inner and outer film layers. A number of cut lines are provided in the outer film layer in the reclose region, such that the user, by manipulating the package film layers at the reclose region, can reveal the underlying layer of pressure sensitive adhesive. Once the pressure sensitive adhesive of the reclose region is exposed, the action of the user can serve to adhere the pressure sensitive adhesive to itself and/or other portions of the film, such that the package is cinched in the area of the reclose region and maintains the remnants of the package contents within the reclosed package for later use.

Abstract: Provided is an aseptic filling packaging machine that includes film feeder (1), plug feeder (2), welding devices (22, and 55), sterilizer (3), and filling packaging device (5). Film feeder (1) feeds strip film (8). Plug feeder (2) feeds plug (7) to a predetermined position of fed film (8). Primary welding mechanism (22), which serves as a welding device, temporarily welds plug (7) to the predetermined position of film (8). Sterilizer (3) immerses film 8 having plug (7), which has been fed from film feeder (1), in a sterile liquid. While forming film 8 having plug (7), which has been fed from sterilizer (3), into a bag shape, filling packaging device (5) fills the formed film packaging body having the plug with content to seal it. In filling packaging device (5), secondary welding mechanism (55) that serves as a welding device completely welds plug (7) to film (8).

Abstract: Unitized packages for containing and dispensing a product material are described herein. In particular, the unitized packages comprise a printed base card and a fluid vessel permanently bonded to the printed base card. The fluid vessel comprises a first laminate barrier layer comprising at least one layer of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic polymer, a portion of which is formed into a modified dome shape, and a planar second laminate barrier layer. The first and second laminate barrier layers are sealed together to form a fluid-tight enclosure, wherein the product material substantially fills the enclosure and the modified dome shape is resiliently sustainable. A method of manufacturing the unitized packages as described above is also provided. In particular, the method includes forming a portion of the first laminate barrier layer comprising the biaxially oriented polymer into the modified dome shape using a force such as pressurized gas.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are devices and systems adapted to position within a subject and methods of use therewith. The device includes a conduit body having at least a first layer and a second opposable layer manufactured from a biocompatible and malleable material that permits safe positioning within the subject. The device also includes an enclosed intervening cavity positioned between the first and second layers, the first surface of the first layer having at least one feature configured to interlock with the second surface of the second layer. The conduit body is configured to transition from a first state to a second state upon application of a suction force to the intervening cavity wherein the conduit body is less rigid in the first state than when the conduit body is in the second state, and wherein the conduit body is adapted to remain in the second state after removal of the suction force.

Abstract: A vessel defining a variable interior volume has a wall with a first and second wall portion, and a flexure zone parallel to a longitudinal axis. In a volumetrically reduced configuration, the wall portions are brought together by flexing of the flexure zone. A fixing element attached to the wall releasably maintains the wall in the reduced configuration by maintaining proximity of the wall portions. A spray bottle system includes a housing forming a receptacle for receiving a soft refill liquid container and having at least one opening representing a reduction in material of the housing. A spray head includes an operable trigger for causing dispensation of liquid from the container. A pivoting junction connects the housing to the spray head permitting flexing of the spray head.

Abstract: A jug has an essentially square base, four sidewall portions rising from the base formed together with corner portions, and a shoulder portion extending upward to a finish portion defining an opening into the jug interior. Creases intersect a midline crease on two opposite sidewalls of the jug. A base crease line folds upward and the two opposite creased sidewall portions folds inward along vertical midline creases above diagonal crease lines from lower corners of the jug as the jug is moved from a full-sized use conformation toward a compact conformation. A sidewall, other than the two opposite creased sidewalls, can include an integrally formed handle, or can include a horizontal groove adapted to engage a lower end of a separately molded handle engaging the neck of the jug. A cap including a movable ring can engage a tab protruding from a groove in the sidewall to ensure a rolled compact arrangement of the empty jug.
