  • Patent number: 9557097
Abstract: A refrigerator includes a cabinet defining a fresh food compartment and a door pivotally mounted to the cabinet and including an interior surface in communication with the fresh food compartment when the door is closed. A liquid dispenser is arranged on the interior surface of the door, and a container is supported on the door and configured to receive liquid from the liquid dispenser. A sensor is configured to sense a property of the container, and a control is in communication with the sensor. The control is configured to regulate dispensing of liquid into the container based upon the sensed property of the container. In one example, the sensor is resiliently biased into contact with the container to sense a property of the container. In another example, the control indicates a stale liquid condition if a timer expires before the container has been removed from the door.

  • Patent number: 9521926
Abstract: The present disclosure provides various methods, apparatus, and systems for wireless regulation of temperature of contents of a receptacle. The apparatus includes a receiver coupled to the receptacle, which receives pockets of energy generated in response to radio frequency waves. These radio frequency waves can be emitted by a pocket-forming transmitter in response to communication from the receptacle. The receiver coupled to the receptacle then provides electrical energy to a temperature regulating component associated with it. This temperature regulating component is configured to alter temperature of contents of the receptacle to desired temperature. Also disclosed is a cup containing liquids, such as beverages, which may be controllably heated to, or maintained at, a desired temperature using wireless power transmission.

  • Patent number: 8944290
Abstract: A recirculation loop for a beverage dispensing system. The beverage dispensing system has a fluid supply, a cold plate, a valve/manifold assembly, and a bar gun connected to the valve/manifold assembly. The recirculation loop draws off fluid being carried from the cold plate to the valve/manifold assembly and, having a pump as part thereof, pumps some of that fluid to a point just upstream of the cold plate. In this manner, the recirculation loop keeps fluid cool, even when the bar gun is not dispensing beverages therefrom, for long periods of time. That is, the pump runs independent of the bar gun and is typically on all the time, so that fluid in the line from the cold plate to the valve/manifold assembly stays chilled.

Abstract: Fixed-volumes of liquid are measured and dispensed from a container by empirically determining the liquid surface height and opening a dispensing valve for a time period that is calculated using a volume of liquid specified to be dispensed and the empirically-determined liquid surface height. The liquid surface height in the container is determined empirically for initial and subsequent volumes of liquid that are dispensed. Dispensing accuracy is maintained whether the container is full or nearly empty.

Abstract: A multipurpose nozzle access door, content management insert, and anchor for a flexible cooler and dispenser alternative is an insulated beverage cooler/utility bag body that accepts a waterproof and water tight content management insert. The content management insert lines the inside of the cooler body and is fastened to selected portion of the interior of the cooler body. In concert the liner covers the entire inner cavity which is the storage space of the cooler. Individually the liner permits arrangement, separation, variable insulation of items placed in the cooler storage space. The cooler has a cascading door with a cancelable cup holder attached. Additionally, the cooler has two types of anchors that allow the carrying strap to act as the linkage between the cooler body and either one of the anchors so that the cooler can be restrained near a fixed point.

Abstract: A water server includes a baffle which interferes with the downward flow of water introduced into a cold water tank through a water supply line. The baffle has a water transfer passage is formed by a downwardly recessed surface portion formed on the top surface of the baffle and having a distal edge, and an edge portion having a predetermined thickness and located over the distal edge so as to overlap the distal edge. The water transfer passage is configured such that the recessed surface portion deflects the flow of water flowing down through the water transfer passage in a horizontal direction or a direction close to a horizontal direction. Water is thus discharged from the terminal end opening defined by the distal edge and the edge portion into the lower portion of the cold water tank in a direction close to a horizontal direction.
