  • Patent number: 9096355
Abstract: A container-mounted dispensing structure for dispensing gel or liquid fuel into a fuel-containment reservoir of a ventless fireplace. The dispensing structure having an upstream member and a downstream member which are connected to each other. The upstream member defining a plurality of flame-restricting apertures through which fuel exits the container. The downstream member having a substantially larger dispensing aperture. The number of flame-restricting apertures and their size being selected to prevent flame ingress into the container and to allow sufficient flow into a manifold to facilitate single-stream, splash-free flow of fuel from the dispensing aperture into the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 8931666
Abstract: A fuel dispenser includes first and second cylinders adapted to contain respective first and second fluids, one being fuel and the other being a fuel additive such as a lubricant. First and second pistons in the cylinders displace the fluids through outlets and into a mixing line. The dispenser typically allows the volume of fluids displaced from each cylinder to be accurately controlled and adjusted in order to change the ratios. This is achieved by an adjustable aperture adapted to be opened and closed and optionally varied in degree of opening, typically by rotation of at least one of the components, to release fluid contained in the cylinder in front of the piston without passing the fluid into a mixing line. The adjustable aperture includes an aperture in a piston head, allowing the fluid in front of the piston to pass into or through the piston.

  • Publication number: 20150001217
Abstract: A portable fuel container configured to prevent liquid fuel contained therein from being entirely emptied from the container. The amount of liquid fuel retained in the container can be sufficient to maintain a fuel-to-air ratio in the container at a fuel-rich level that prevents combustion within the container if the container were to be placed near an ignition source or if an ignition source were to somehow enter the container. The container can also include other safety features such as, for example, a flash suppressor located at the fill opening, an extra wide fill opening, and/or an easily controllable dispensing spout. When a flash suppressor is employed, the perforations in the flash suppressor can be configured to retain fuel therein after fuel has been dispensed from the container and the flash suppressor is no longer submerged in fuel.

  • Publication number: 20120189966
Abstract: A detonation flame arrestor including an outer cylinder, an inner cylinder, transition point/attenuation matrix and tortuous path media. The inner cylinder is secured to a canister flange and positioned inside the outer cylinder secured to the canister flange, altogether forming a canister. The torturous path media is positioned in the canister between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder to to provide turbulence and a large surface area which acts as a heat sink to extinguish a flame. Both the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder include a transition point/attenuation matrix which forms their respective cylindrical circumferences. Helical or parallel wire or rings create the transition point/attenuation matrix which attenuates and creates turbulence as the first stage of quenching a flame front.

Abstract: The storage container for a liquid chlorosilane of the present invention comprises, a tank which stores the liquid chlorosilane, a valve which is connected to the tank and to which an external pipe can be connected detachably, and a closing lid which seals the valve when the external pipe is detached from the valve. The valve comprises a housing and a valve body provided in the housing. The closing lid has a lid body having a sealing surface contacting the connecting surface of the connecting flange, a supply pipe which supplies an inert gas to a space between the closing lid and the valve body in the housing, a supply valve which opens or closes the supply pipe, a discharge pipe which discharges a gas in the space, and a discharge valve which opens or closes the discharge pipe.

  • Patent number: 6699035
Abstract: A detonation flame arrestor including an outer cylinder, an inner cylinder, and fill media. The outer cylinder and inner cylinder are secured to a canister flange on one end and include a domed face (cap) on the other end. On assembly, the inner cylinder secured to the canister flange is positioned inside the outer cylinder secured to the canister flange, altogether forming a canister. The fill media is inserted in the canister between the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder. Both the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder include a tapered spiral wound wire screen which forms their respective cylindrical circumferences. Contaminates are constrained between adjacent windings of the tapered wire screen.

  • Patent number: 6389739
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a container for holding a burnable coil bearing an active ingredient, such as an insecticide, insect repellant, deodorizer, or fragrance. The container includes a base having a raised coil support for mounting the coil and a spiral recess or spirally arrayed support peaks which permit air circulation beneath the coil and inhibit premature snuffing. The coil is enclosed by a cover having a downwardly depending hold-down aligned with the coil support to prevent the coil from moving in the container. The cover also has openings allowing air to pass into the container and vapors to be released. The cover is rotatably mounted to the base so that the cover openings can be selectively opened and closed to allow controlled venting and snuffing of the coil.
