Coaxial Only Patents (Class 222/273)
  • Patent number: 7735700
Abstract: An assembly for controlling delivery of material from a bin opening includes a movable bin gate for closing the bin opening and providing a high flow rate of material when the movable gate is open, wherein a low flow aperture is formed in the bin gate to provide a low flow rate of material when the bin gate is positioned such that only the low flow aperture is open. A two-stage flow enhancer within the bin includes a first stage for impelling material in the direction of the low flow aperture and a second stage for impelling material to exit through the low flow aperture. A controller controls operation of the bin gate to adjust a flow rate of material from the bin opening.

  • Patent number: 5845818
Abstract: A metering system is driven by a transmission for metering product from a product tank. The metering system has a meter housing, within which is mounted a meter cartridge having an inlet releasably coupled to the product tank. A meter roller which has an axial bore is rotatably mounted in the meter cartridge. A drive shaft extends through the axial bore of the meter roller for rotating the roller with the drive shaft. A meter drive is fixed to an end of the drive shaft against rotation relative to the drive shaft. The meter cartridge has an engaged position wherein the meter cartridge is mounted in the meter housing and the meter drive is engaged by the transmission for rotating the meter roller, as well as a disengaged position where the meter drive is not engaged by the transmission for allowing the meter cartridge to be removed from the meter housing and for allowing the inlet of the casing section to be at least partially uncoupled from the product tank.

  • Patent number: 5092494
Abstract: An apparatus for metering fluid has a casing (1) accommodating a rotor (2) having a closed interior space. The interior space of the rotor (2) is divided by partitions (3) into measuring chambers (4) each accommodating a free piston (5) dividing the measuring chamber into a metering space (6) and a control space (7) located on either side of the piston (5). There is provided a batch controller having a variable capacity chamber (18) communicating with all control spaces which are connected in parallel with one another. Each chamber (4) has a port (10) regularly communicating through a port (8) with a metered fluid supply line and with a port (9) for discharging metered fluid.

  • Patent number: 4969583
Abstract: A storage bin type ice dispenser includes a storage bin having front and rear walls, opposed side walls, a bottom wall and an inclined wall formed between a lower end of the front wall and a front end of the bottom wall to form a semicylindrical internal surface extending upward from an internal surface of the bottom wall. The bin is formed therein with a guide groove which is located at the center portions of the bottom and inclined walls in a lateral direction and extends upward from the bottom wall to a lower part of the front wall. The guide groove is formed at a front part thereof with a dispensing opening which opens downward through the inclined wall. The ice dispenser further includes an agitator having a rotary shaft rotatably mounted within the bin and positioned laterally in parallel with the semicylindrical internal surface of the inclined wall. A finger assembly is mounted on the center of the shaft to rotate along the guide groove.

  • Patent number: 4597510
Abstract: An improved feed screw impeller apparatus primarily for use in an impeller bag packing system that is especially suited for filling bags with finely divided and aerated powders. The apparatus comprises an elongated cylindrical shaft having impeller blades extending radially therefrom at about the midpoint thereof and a plurality of feed screw flights of generally helical configuration, at least two such flights connected to said shaft on each side of the impeller blades in substantial coaxial alignment with the shaft. In one alternative embodiment of the invention there are four impeller blades and four helical feed screw flights, two on each side of the impeller blades and each terminating along an edge extending in substantial alignment with a different impeller blade. Another version of the novel impeller is employed in a packing machine also having a novel pre-conditioning hopper.

  • Patent number: 4156486
Abstract: The food material to be processed is alternately transferred from two sources to an elongated treating chamber. The apparatus for carrying out the method includes rotary valve means employing two pocket areas, each pocket area including a plurality of pockets with each pair of diametrically located pockets having an interconnecting passage. The pockets of one area are angularly displaced or out-of-phase with the pockets of the other area. Owing to the out-of-phase relationship, the food material to be processed is alternately received by one pocket of one area, then by the next pocket of the other area and so on through each revolution of the valve means in which the pockets are contained, the material being discharged in the same out-of-phase relationship through the interconnecting passages and diametrically disposed pockets into the inlet of a pressurized elongated treating chamber.
