Joint Sealing Bias Only Patents (Class 222/337)
  • Patent number: 10124952
Abstract: The present disclosure relate to an actuator assembly for an aerosol can. The assembly includes a body attachable to a can and a disc provided with two opposing levers. The disc is hinged to the body and generally overlies a valve provided on the aerosol can. When either lever is depressed, a valve socket on the bottom of the disc engages the valve of the aerosol can to discharge pressurized liquid through a port formed through the disc. One of the levers is provided with a catching member that engages and selectively locks onto a latch provided on the body so that the lever is captured in a depressed position to cause the continuous discharge of liquid from the can. The captured lever can be released to discontinue discharge of liquid by pressing the other lever.

  • Patent number: 8272541
Abstract: A dispenser for measuring and dispensing powder materials includes a slide housing having a powder inlet slot, a slide having a measure slot, and an elastic element. The slide is pressed against the slide housing by the elastic element to make the slide move relative to the slide housing. The slide moves between the first position and the second position. On the first position, the measure slot is in alignment with the powder inlet slot and the powder is filled into the measure slot; on the second position, the measure slot moves away from the powder inlet slot and the powder is discharged from the measure slot. The elastic element makes the slide press against the slide housing during moving to reduce the clearance between the slide and the slide housing, makes the slide move smoothly, and reduces the precision demand of manufacture and assembly.

  • Publication number: 20080316857
Abstract: The invention is concerned with testing of inhalers used for medicament delivery. Such devices are often intended to be first shaken by a user to prepare them, and then fired by operation of some mechanical mechanism. In order to automate testing, the invention provides a shake device having a carriage 14 for receiving and releasably mounting one or more inhalers. The carriage is mounted upon a guideway for linear movement upon it. A linear motor 26 is operatively coupled to the carriage to reciprocally drive it to shake the mounted inhaler(s). A system embodying the invention may further comprise a fire device having a movable firing member 54, 56 for engaging with an inhaler mounted in the carriage and actuating its firing mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20030197035
Abstract: An apparatus for metering powdered filling material has a filling material container whose bottom is provided with bores which cooperate with tamping plungers and transfer plungers. Underneath the bottom is a stop ring which functions as a counter support for the tamping plungers. To prevent powder losses from the bottom the filling material container is axially movable in such a way that it can be pressed against the stop ring during the downward motion of the tamping plungers. This is achieved by means of hold-down elements which can be moved synchronously with the tamping plungers.

  • Patent number: 5704518
Abstract: A caulking gun and cartridge combination is provided with afterflow prevention. The cartridge has a tubular body, a forward dispensing opening at a forward end of the tubular body, and a backwall movably disposed within the tubular body. The caulking gun has a trough for receiving the cartridge, and a piston movable parallel to the trough. A trigger handle is used for pushing the backwall forward within the tubular body and causing a reduction of volume within the chamber in the cartridge. The backwall slides substantially in a contact-less manner within the tubular body, preferably by way of a reduced diameter of the backwall relative the inner diameter of the tubular body, so that it is pushed backwardly when the body retracts radially after actuation. Alternatively, the cartridge body may be prevented from expanding or may even be actively squeezed so that afterflow caused by the volume reduction of the relaxing tube body is safely prevented.

  • Patent number: 5137528
Abstract: An ampoule is disclosed having a stopper slidably mounted therein adjacent the proximal end and a rubber diaphragm secured to the distal end. An aperture barrier is provided in the ampoule between the proximal and distal ends, and has an aperture sealed by a plug. Sterile acidified liquid local anaesthetic is contained in an proximal compartment defined in the ampoule by the barrier and the stopper. Sterile alkaline neutralizing reagent is contained in the distal compartment defined in the ampoule by the barrier and the rubber diaphragm. In use, the ampoule is placed in the barrel of a hypodermic syringe, and is then manually advanced in the barrel toward the distal end of the syringe to cause the proximal end of the hypodermic needle of the syringe, which proximal end extends into the barrel of the syringe, to perforate the rubber diaphragm and communicate with the distal compartment of the ampoule. The distal end of the hypodermic needle is then inserted into the oral tissues of the patient.

  • Patent number: 4915265
Abstract: A rotary feeder includes a housing which accommodates a rotor including a plurality of vanes supported on a shaft. The rotary feeder is sealed in axial direction by slide rings which are acted upon by a pressure fluid and in radial direction by displaceable sealing strips which are contained in the peripheral end face of the vanes. The required contact pressure in axial direction as well as in radial direction is provided by a pressure fluid source which acts upon the annular piston-type slide rings. Each slide ring is pressed against a slide disk which is part of a lateral disk member of the rotor and is rotatable in circumferential direction to the slide disk. Each slide disk is provided in circumferential direction with slant grooves which are engaged by retaining bolts of a sealing strip unit contained in the peripheral end face of each vane and providing the radial sealing of the rotor vanes.

  • Patent number: 4805811
Abstract: A dosage device for dosing with high accuracy a particulate material containing a pharmacologically active substance, including a storage chamber, a rotatable dosing unit adjacent the storage chamber, and an operating unit to cause relative rotation between the dosing unit and the storage chamber. The dosing unit is provided with a plurality of upwardly opening recesses opening into said storage chamber to receive particulate material therefrom through an outlet opening from the storage chamber. Scrapers are positioned in the outlet opening immediately above these recesses to pack and level the particulate material into the recesses and level the material off with the upper surface of the dosing unit as the dosing unit rotates relative to the storage chamber.
