Abstract: A fixed and/or stationary modular unit consists of a hydraulic fluid tank, a variable frequency drive consisting of a variable frequency controller, a variable frequency motor, and a pressurization pump. A compressed gas transportation system consists of a cylinder or set of cylinders. Each cylinder has a charging port and a dispensing port. A pair of valves are located at each charging port of each cylinder, with one valve connected to an incoming hydraulic fluid line and the other valve connected to a hydraulic fluid return line. A valve is connected at the dispensing port of each cylinder. As gas is dispensed from cylinders, hydraulic fluid is pumped from the tank by the variable frequency drive into the cylinder at a rate substantially equal to the dispensing rate of the compressed gas to maintain a constant pressure within the cylinder.

Abstract: The present invention provides a compressed gas cylinder that is capable of storing a compressed fluid at high pressures. The cylinder of the present invention includes a body terminating in an inwardly domed cap. The dome included in the cap of the compressed gas cylinder of the present invention is formed such that the material near the tip of the dome is relatively thinner than the material near the base of the dome. The tip of the dome, therefore, creates a pierce region in the cap that can be pierced through the application of a relatively low pressure.

Abstract: A regulated gas supply system having a body defining a pressurized gas reservoir connected to a high-pressure regulator that regulates the high pressure gas from the gas reservoir to disperse the gas at a desired pressure. The gas regulating assembly includes a piston chamber with a piston slidably positioned in the piston chamber, the piston chamber having a secondary chamber connected to the gas reservoir. A spring is positioned between one side of the piston and the piston chamber, with the piston including a piston channel to allow pressurized gas to flow through the piston. Pressure is developed on the piston opposite the spring that is proportional to the force of the spring, providing a balanced piston.

Abstract: A paintball shooting structure includes a cartridge in combination with a percussion device to receive multiple paintballs therein and is provided for a paintball gun. When an impact section of a firing pin of the percussion device is struck, the striking force pushes the firing pin to move forward such that the total length from a plug head formed in a front end of the plug to the impact section is shortened. Meanwhile, compressed gas is released out of the cartridge to push the plug to move rearward along an annular section of an outer sheath. Besides, the compressed gas immediately rushes into each paintball feeder in the cartridge so as to shoot each paintball in a respective one of the paintball feeders out of the cartridge.

Abstract: A dual stage hybrid inflation device includes a first stage gas source having a pressurized gas stored in a first stage pressure vessel and a second stage gas source having a pyrotechnic gas generator having a gas output directed into the first stage pressure vessel. The first stage pressure vessel is in fluid communication with an inflatable device such as an aircraft emergency evacuation slide via an externally actuated valve upstream of a pressure actuated valve such as a rupturable diaphragm. A control circuit provides a signal to the externally actuated valve to begin a flow of gases from first stage pressure vessel to a chamber on the upstream side of the burst diaphragm. The control circuit also sends a signal to the squib that initiates the pyrotechnic second stage gas source.

  • Patent number: 6997347
Abstract: An apparatus and method for generating a low concentration of gas within a carrier gas flow employing one or more miniature one-piece cylinders filled under pressure with a pure gas, or a concentrated gas balanced with an inert gas or gas mixture. Released from the cylinder through a pierced or other controlled opening, the flow of the gas is regulated by a pressure regulator and a micro orifice to be blended into a steady stream of diluent gas, typically ambient air, to form a desired gas concentration. No gas is generated if the pressure of the gas in the cylinder, which is monitored constantly by a pressure transducer, is below a predetermined level. The apparatus can be built into a portable device, or an automated docking station (or calibration station) for testing and calibrating gas detection and monitoring instruments, or into a fixed gas detection system for performing such functions.
