Single Inflow-outflow Trap Passage Patents (Class 222/444)
  • Patent number: 11913311
Abstract: A flow control shuttle to provide the ability to block flow in either direction initially, while allowing a high-pressure differential capacity in one direction and does not produce free floating pieces of the plug in the flow stream after actuation. The mechanism is actuated by a pressure differential opposite the high-pressure direction, in which the actuation pressure can be set independently of the pressure rating of the high-pressure direction. Upon actuation the flow path opens allowing flow in either direction by moving a shuttle plug from a sealed to an unsealed configuration. The direction of high pressure and actuation pressure can be chosen by direction of installation on based what is required for the application. This mechanism can be incorporated into an existing tool or a new tool design, or can be provided as a standalone tool.

Abstract: An oil storage and filtration system for an engine unit includes an on/off valve that defines an operating phase when receiving supply air and in an on position and a standby phase when in an off position or not receiving the supply air. The system also includes a fill/drain valve that defines a drain state and a fill state which respectively correspond to emptying and filling oil from/into the engine unit. The system also includes a control valve, a pressure/vacuum valve, and a storage tank. The storage tank stores oil in a pressurized condition during the fill state, a vacuum condition during the drain state, and an atmospheric condition during the standby phase. The also includes a vacuum generator in fluid communication with the storage tank during the drain state and fluidly isolated from the storage tank during the fill state.

Abstract: A gravity based dispenser for use with a bottle of liquid. The dispenser hangs about the neck of a user and allows the user to selectively dispense water from the water bottle while the user maintains a valve of the dispenser in an open position. In a closed position, the valve of the dispenser prevents the flow of liquid from the bottle to which the dispenser is attached. The valve is biased to the closed position. In this way, a user may use water to wash their hands using a single water bottle without using unnecessary quantities of water.

Abstract: A method, device and system for metering powder material from a powder material source by a metering device connected to the source. The device is charged from the source with a batch of powder material in a charging configuration. The batch is discharged from the device in a discharging configuration. The source is connected with a metering piston space in the charging configuration via a first channel of a fixed metering channel hub. The volume of the space is controlled between a metering piston and a hub peripheral surface by controlling the piston position in the space, to charge the volume with material by gravity. The metering space is turned around the hub, to the charging configuration. The volume filled with material is enclosed until reaching the discharging configuration. The metering piston space is connected with a discharge opening via a second channel of the hub for discharging the material.

  • Patent number: 5823401
Abstract: A ball-valve for precise and accurate sampling and dispensing is disclosed. The ball-valve includes a body having a through-bore having a first end and a second end lined with a two-part sleeve which partially surrounds a ball. The ball is rotatably mounted within the sleeve and in sealing engagement with the sleeve. The ball includes a blind-bore of a known volume. The ball rotates between a first position, in which the blind-bore registers with the first end, and a second position, in which the blind-bore registers with the second end. Rotation of the ball transports a known volume from communication with the first end to communication with the second end. The sealing engagement between the ball and sleeve will prevent depressurization through the ball-valve of a vessel mounted to the ball-valve, both when the ball is at rest and when rotating. In addition, the sealing engagement between the ball and sleeve ensures only the desired volume of fluid is transported between the first and second positions.

  • Patent number: 5758799
Abstract: A method and apparatus for drawing and measuring an amount of liquid agrichemical and dispensing the measured amount of agrichemical for mixture with water and eventual application onto a field. The agrichemical is drawn into a measuring vessel by suction pressure, created in one embodiment by an air compressor and valving system, and in another embodiment by a valve-pump in conjunction with a 3-way valve. The agrichemical is then dispensed from the measuring vessel either by positive pressure created by the same air compressor/valving system, or by suction pressure created by valve-pump/3-way valve. The valve-pump provides both a mixing chamber for the agrichemical and water prior to tank storage for eventual application, and controllable suction pressure for drawing the agrichemical out of the measuring vessel for mixing. The valve-pump is also self-cleaning thereby reducing the possibility of cross-contamination.

Abstract: A core-material container constituted of a container main body whose opening is covered with a sheet-like lid member made of an air-permeable material. In order to charge powder core material through a core-material charging inlet uniformly as well as densely, the charging operation of the core material is carried out in the following manner: housing the core material container in a housing space formed by a positioning guide and a plate member; releasing air from a suction outlet, thereby making the core-material charging inlet adhere around a nozzle; releasing air located inside a sealed space enclosed by an upper frame and a lower frame through an air outlet; and charging the core material through the nozzle while evacuating the core material container. Thus, the core material is uniformly charged by air flows caused by the air release, and the charge is densely carried out since air contained in the core material is removed.

Abstract: A self-contained, portable, closed, chemical transfer system is described. The system includes a support frame, a container, a vacuum pump, a leveling means for the container, a valved inlet line, and a valved outlet line. The leveling means allows for use of the portable, self-contained system on various surface levels. The vacuum pump can provide solely a vacuum to the container of the system or can be structured to also provide pressure to the container of the system to facilitate emptying of the container. When a pressure means is not provided, gravity is utilized to facilitate emptying of the container. The vacuum pump of the invention which provides alternatively for both vacuum and pressure includes a single operating lever operatively connected to two 3-way valves which are used in conjunction with a motor, air pump, and appropriate air lines. The system is operated through the use of a minimal number of valves which provides for simple construction and operation.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispersing an active ingredient, such as a fumigant, fertilizer or room freshener in which the active ingredient is placed in a sample cylinder and a pressurized solvent/propellent is subsequently introduced from a source. The solvent/propellent expands to adopt a liquid phase and a gaseous phase. The liquid phase serves to absorb the active ingredient and the gaseous phase serves to propel the borne active ingredient out of the apparatus through a dispensing outlet where further expansion takes place and the active ingredient is dispersed in a fog or mist. Flow restrictors create a pressure differential between the sample cylinder outlet and a by-pass portion to enable total absorption of the active ingredient. The flow restrictors and conduits for the system are contained in a mixing head for the sample cylinder.
