  • Patent number: 11819171
Abstract: Exemplary soap, sanitizer and lotion dispensers are disclosed herein. An exemplary dispenser includes a housing; a receptacle for receiving a container; a container of fluid comprising soap, sanitizer or lotion; a pump in fluid communication with the container; a power source; a pump coupled to a motor and pulse width modulation circuitry in circuit communication with the power source and the motor. The pulse width modulation circuitry is initially set to cause a selected dose of fluid to be dispensed at a base speed. A sensor for detecting a parameter indicative of an actual speed of a dispense of the fluid is also included. When the actual speed of the dispense of fluid is less than the base speed or greater than the base speed, the pulse width modulation circuitry adjusts the pulse width to cause the speed of a following dispense of fluid to be closer to the base speed.

  • Patent number: 8757448
Abstract: A dispensing device for a fluid container, which includes a container cap, a switching nozzle, a securing mechanism and a dispensing compartment. The container cap has apertures, and the switching nozzle has a closing and an opening state. In the closing state the switching nozzle hermetically seals the apertures. An oval skirt is attached to the switching nozzle embracing the container cap, having protrusions for fixing the skirt to the container cap. Pressing the skirt releases the fixing and allows switching to an opening state. A setting mechanism determines the limited volume of the dispensing compartment and secures the volume from undesired variation. An annular portion has clefts and quantity markings. The setting mechanism encompasses the annular portion and has setting bumps bulging proximate to the annular portion, and barrel apertures. Upon mating the setting bumps with a cleft, a marking is exposed through the apertures.

  • Publication number: 20130153608
Abstract: A dosage dispensing cap system is configured to release a fixed amount of medication from a container as a result of a single actuation by a user. A first cap element of the system may have a first aperture and be adapted to be attached to the container, which is configured to house a multiplicity of pills of a generally uniform size, or liquid medication of a particular volume. A second cap element may be flexible, have a flange member extending generally radially outward from a diaphragm member and be disposed between the first cap element and the container. The diaphragm member may have a mouth portion, a throat portion and a cavity generally disposed therebetween. The cavity may be generally large enough to contain a fixed number of pills or a dose volume of liquid. By way of a simple actuation, the mouth portion opens and the throat portion closes, thereby allowing the cap system to release a discrete number of pills or a dose volume of liquid medication.

  • Patent number: 8028865
Abstract: A two-way dispenser cap has a main cap member and a toggle valve. The main cap member has two passages that allow material from inside an attached container to dispense. The first passage leads to a trap chamber that is defined by the main cap member and the toggle valve walls. The second passage leads to an outlet passage for continuous pouring dispensation. The toggle valve pivots in relation to the two-way dispenser cap between one of three positions: no dispensation, metered dispensation from the trap chamber passage or continuous pour dispensation. When the toggle valve pivots to open the trap chamber passage, the trap chamber inlet is closed off. Abstract: A bulk foodstuff dispenser for dispensing predetermined amounts of foodstuff from a hopper. An auger is driven by a handle capable of movement in two directions, while a clutch allows movement of the auger in only one direction. The forward movement of the handle causes the auger to rotate and move foodstuff forward to be dispensed. The forward movement of the handle is predetermined by setting a stopper, thereby regulating the amount of rotation of the auger and thus determining the portion of foodstuff to be dispensed. A spring returns the handle to its at rest position, so that the dispensing process may be repeated from the same handle position. • Patent number: 4508143
Abstract: A drain discharging apparatus capable of automatically discharging drain in compressed air, comprises a body formed therein with a drain reservoir chamber for receiving the drain and compressed air and with an inlet port and an outlet port both communicated with the drain reservoir chamber. A pair of poppet valves selectively communicate the drain reservoir chamber with the inlet port or the outlet port. A cam rotatable within the reservoir chamber alternately opens the poppet valves. A motor rotates the cam, which also is manually operable.

  • Patent number: 4463876
Abstract: A measuring device for dispensing preferably viscous liquids comprising a container (4) for the liquid with a main space (28) and below the main space, a smaller space (29) which is in communication with the main space through a passage (37) and opens out through another passage (30). The portion which constitutes the smaller space (29) and the two passages (37, 30) is compressible. A member (3) is adapted, under the influence of spring forces, in a first position to compress the second passage (30). The member can be moved, against the action of said spring forces, into a second position in which it compresses the first passage (37) while the second passage (30) is open, so that in a third position, in which the member compresses the smaller space (29) and still the first passage (37), the liquid squirts out through the second passage (30).

  • Patent number: 4238056
Abstract: A cabinet forms a frame mounting a dispensing mechanism, a soap reservoir comprised of a sump and container, and an actuating lever, all of which are selectively removable from the frame for maintenance purposes. The dispensing mechanism and reservoir sump are formed unitary slideably connected to the frame with the actuating lever pivotally connected partially overlying the dispensing mechanism in cantilever extension vertically pivotal by a forward broadened hand engaging portion to actuate the dispensing mechanism therebeneath. The reservoir container is supported inverted on the reservoir sump emptying downwardly therein and partially forwardly overlies the actuating lever, being forwardly supported to prevent the container from inadvertently depressing the actuating lever dispensing soap from the dispensing mechanism when the container is removed forwardly and replaced rearwardly to replenish the soap supply.

  • Patent number: 4230239
Abstract: Apparatus for dispensing flowable particulate materials from a storage container while protecting the material from unnecessary exposure to ambient atmosphere through a double vapor control mechanism. The apparatus includes a funnel unit mounted below the container for receipt of particulate material therefrom. A flow control disc is mounted between the container and the funnel unit to control the flow of material into the funnel unit, irrespective of the head of material within the funnel. A hollow, moveable, metering bell, and moveable funnel outlet closure are mounted on a common reciprocable rod within the funnel and are normally seated between cycles to provide double isolation of the material from the ambient atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4189793
Abstract: A liquid dispenser for dispensing liquid from an inverted bottle into a tank at times when water in the tank drops below a buoying level. A hollow annular stationary member closes off the bottle's neck and has an annular diaphragm leading to a tube with seats at its upper and lower ends. A movable member has two portions that are slidable in the said tube and are joined by a measuring portion. It seats against one seat in its upper position with the measuring portion then wholly above the tube and against the other in its lower position, with the measuring portion then wholly below the tube, and it is moved between them by the change of water level in the tank. This movement is aided with a buoying skirt having an annular chamber that is normally filled with water and drains only after falling; the same chamber helps to dispose the measured charge of the other liquid.

  • Patent number: 4109834
Abstract: A device for discharging a constant volume of fluid which is relatively simple in construction and requires little space. The device comprises a cylindrical chamber with a tangential inlet to induce vortical fluid motion. Within the chamber is a ball having a specific gravity different from that of fluid and adapted to block an outlet which is disposed at the vertex of a cone-like surface disposed at one end of the chamber. When displaced from the outlet by a suitable mechanism, a combination of fluid and gravitational forces cause the ball to follow a spiral path and return to block the outlet, having discharged a certain amount of fluid. Two embodiments are described utilizing a ball having a specific gravity greater than, and less than, that of the fluid.
