Abstract: A one-piece dispenser cartridge of the type having an extrusion orifice at one end and open at the other end to receive a movable bottom plug, which is adapted to be displaced inwardly toward said orifice by the plunger of a suitable holder and thus to extrude the contents of the cartridge in selected quantities, wherein the movable bottom plug is contoured to expel virtually all of the contents and wherein the orifice is sealed with a disc which is pre-scored or pre-cut to form a multi-segmented nozzle when extrusion pressure is exerted thereagainst.
Abstract: An improved lid for covering containers, sucn as tumblers or the like, has a mouthpiece with at least a portion of the mouthpiece shaped to fit within the lips of a person drinking from the container. The mouthpiece has a valve therein operated by the drinker's lips or by the application of pressure on opposite sides of resilient walled containers. The mouthpiece with valve on the lid prevents spilling of the liquid, if the container is accidentally dropped, precludes spilling of the liquid during the time the drinker is engaged in drinking the liquid from the container, even when the drinking is done under adverse conditions, and provides facilitated means for adding condiments to a hot beverage for consumption by a user. Features are further provided for more effectively securing the valve to preclude inadvertent spilling from "wave action" of the liquid within the container.
Abstract: An applicator for liquid from a container including a flexible resilient inlet portion for placement in communication with the container, a control membrane extending across the inlet portion, a slit in the control membrane, a rib in the inlet portion for bearing on the control membrane when the inlet portion flexes to thereby open the slit and for preventing the inlet portion from obstructing the slit in the control membrane during flexing of the inlet portion, a frame on the opposite side of the control membrane from the inlet portion, fabric mounted on said frame, and a plurality of lugs on the control membrane for maintaining the fabric a relatively fixed distance therefrom to thereby maintain the size of the chamber defined by the control membrane and the fabric substantially constant.
Abstract: A disposable manually operable wall mounted dispenser having a deformable rubber teat on the bottom of the container, which when pressed by a user's finger compresses and forces liquid through a dispensing slit in the bottom thereof. The dispensing unit is mounted to the wall by a mounting plate with a projection and a cooperating depression in the container.
Abstract: A liquid dispenser bottle of a resiliently flexible material has a relatively thin, resiliently flexible septum of circular planform seated on and spanning the dispenser outlet, peripherally sealingly clamped in place by a dispenser nozzle cap. The septum has a 90.degree. butt cut slit formation defining at least one resiliently flexible valve flap integrally joined along a hinge line area to the septum proper for outward deflection of the flap by internal liquid pressure when the dispenser is squeezed. The septum is also formed with at least one tiny hole, preferably on or in the vicinity of the hinge line area to increase flexibility of the valve flap, to serve as a vent to greatly accellerate relaxation and normalization of the squeeze bottle wall.
Abstract: Disclosed is a single piece integrally formed safety closure for a container including a body portion designed for fluid tight engagement with the neck and finish of a container and a depending portion including a passageway which extends into the container. A valve is integrally formed in the side wall of the closure and opens upon insertion of a dropper-dispenser. The valve closes upon removal of the dropper, thereby preventing spillage or inadvertent removal of the contents of the container.
Abstract: A re-enterable, waterproof, encapsulated splice assembly and method for electrical conductors. The splice enclosure utilizes a pair of deep, cup-shaped housing members of supple material having a snug telescopic fit with one another about the splice junction. This junction is encapsulated in a water-repellent, non-setting, gel-like potting compound charged into the inner end of the two cup-shaped members prior to their assembly.
Abstract: A toothbrush having an elongated handle provided at one end with a head comprising a surface from which bristles project in the usual manner. Within and extending longitudinally of the handle is an elongated cartridge chamber terminating at the head end of the handle with an opening communicating at one end with the chamber and at its other end with the bristled surface. The cartridge chamber is adapted to receive therein an elongated, tubular, flattenable, dentifrice cartridge insertable through an opening at the end of the chamber remote from the head. A dispensing member slidable longitudinally of and within the chamber is engageable with the cartridge to flatten such cartridge progressively from the remote end of the handle toward the head end thereof, thereby dispensing the dentifrice into the bristles of the toothbrush through an elastomeric, tubular cartridge tip disposed in the opening in the toothbrush head and extending beyond the bristled surface.
Abstract: The check valve comprises an integral body of elastomeric material of generally exterior hemispherical shape with an annular flange portion on the base of the hemisphere. An inlet passage is formed in the base and terminates within the hemispherical portion, there being provided a cut from the end of the inlet passage to the outer periphery of the hemispherical portion defining a slit of given dimensions. This slit is formed at an acute angle to the plane of the base of the hemisphere; that is, the plane normal to the axis of the inlet passage. The geometry of the configuration is such that the slit will open to pass fluid either liquid or gas from the inlet to the exterior of the body when a differential pressure of the fluid across the body is exceeded and collapse or close when the differential pressure reverses to block reverse flow of fluid through the body.

Abstract: This invention is a seal for a moulded plastics container for pressurised fluid, consisting of a resilient flap normally held closing an opening in the container wall by its resilience and by pressure differential. The container can be made by a compression moulding process in which the moulds are progressively closed after the material is injected.
