Abstract: This invention relates to the transfer of liquid products, having special application to oil drums and including a pouring spout which is characterized by an attachment which is extended, on the opposite side to the inlet cross-section of an oblong opening, by a chute connected to the attachment by an articulation zone perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, the chute being provided with catch-type assembly members which co-operate with complimentary members carried by the attachment and which together ensure the maintenance and immobilization of the chute in a direction differing from that of the attachment.
Abstract: A method of making an extruded construction for bags, comprising forming in an integral one piece plastic extrusion a flexible collapsibly foldable thin wall closure web area joined at its opposite ends to proximal ends of a pair of pull flange portions of substantial length, and as part of the extrusion forming separable resiliently flexible interlocking complementary fastener profiles adjacent to said proximal ends; collapsibly folding the closure web area away from the flange portions and the profiles, coupling the fastener profiles together, and enveloping the collapsibly folded closure web area within bag body side wall panels having end parts joined to the extrusion adjacent to the profiles. The side wall panels may be extruded integrally with the closure web area, the flange portions and the fastener profiles; or the side wall panels may be separately formed and sealed to the collapsibly folded closure web area or the flange portions adjacent to the profiles.
Abstract: A portable water carrier and dispenser comprising a pillow-shaped enclosure of strong, lightweight, flexible material; a reservoir, similarly shaped, of impermeable material, adapted to receive and retain water disposed within the enclosure; a conduit for establishing fluid communication with the reservoir interior; and shoulder straps and waistbelt attached to the enclosure to allow a user to carry the dispenser on his back. The volumetric dimensions of the reservoir are slightly greater than those of the enclosure to allow the enclosure to provide bottom and side support for the reservoir when containing water. One end of the conduit is interior the reservoir, and secured to the bottom corner thereof. The other bottom corner of the reservoir is held in place within the enclosure when the reservoir is empty by a special clamp provided for this purpose.
Abstract: A capillary tube applicator for dispensing anaerobic and cyanoacrylate adhesives is penetratingly inserted and retained in place by an interference fit within a cap attached internal to the neck of a container for the adhesive.
Abstract: A new and novel mounting for a flexible hose in a gasoline dispensing apparatus is disclosed. Contrary to a conventional mounting in which the hose is fixed to the apparatus housing at the one end and the other free end provided with a valved nozzle which is normally hung on the housing so that the intermediate length of the hose is suspended like the letter of "U", according to the present invention the hose is extended upwardly and then suspended downwardly so that this inverted "U" form is normally maintained by an elastic means such as a coiled spring fitted on the hose along at least the upwardly extended length. Thereby the force necessary for manually bringing the nozzle to the fuel inlet of a car can be considerably decreased and undesired hose dragging can be avoided which makes it possible to realize self-service system in a gasoline station.
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying materials having first and second support members movable longitudinally with respect to each other, a third support member positioned between the first and second support members and movable along a line extending therebetween, first and second rigid conduit sections having one end supported respectively by the first and second support members and a third rigid conduit section having its ends swivelly connected to the other ends of the first and second conduit sections and supported by the third support member, whereby as the first and second support members move longitudinally with respect to each other, the first, second and third conduit sections expand and retract accordingly.
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for supplying glass to glass melters, the glass specifically being glass bodies in the form of marbles or balls. The marbles are fed by gravity from a hopper to melting units therebelow through flexible supply chutes. Between the hopper and the supply chutes are ejector chutes for ejecting pieces of broken marbles prior to reaching the flexible supply chutes, to avoid jamming therein. The ejector chute has at least one elongate opening extending the length thereof and of a size to pass through broken marbles.
Abstract: A container and pouring spout assembly is provided in which a pouring spout of resilient material cross threadedly and sealably engages a threaded filler neck. In one embodiment, the pouring spout comprises a rectangular sheet of plastic having first and second edges, a filler neck opening intermediate the first and second edges, and a trough that is formed by securing a portion of the first edge to a portion of the second edge.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a trough and fall plate particularly adapted for use in producing continuous buns of polyurethane foam which trough and plate are expansible relative to the transverse axis of the plate for forming buns of variable widths. The trough is comprised of a pair of open ended trough sections and detachable end portions, one of the sections being slidably mounted with the other for varying the length of the defined trough and correspondingly the width of the forming bun.
Abstract: A drink-through closure lid for hot potable open-top containers, in which at least the portion of the lid that is in contact with the inner surface of a user's upper lip during the imbibing of the hot potable is composed of heat insulating material or an insulating layer to prevent harm or discomfort to the drinker.
Abstract: The regulator assembly comprises body member carried by a support and defining a cavity for detaining a pool of abrasive slurry. An overflow device is associated with the body member for establishing the upper level of a pool of abrasive slurry in the cavity. At least one flow-restrictive conduit component is secured at one end to the body member, communicates with the cavity at the lower end of the pool of abrasive slurry, and presents an outer end from which abrasive slurry is discharged. One of the above-indicated elements is movable whereby to selectively adjust the vertical distance between the plane of the upper level of the pool of abrasive slurry and the plane of the outer end of the conduit component.

Abstract: A closure lid for capping the open top of a container. The container is of a type adapted to receive a potable liquid, usually one which is dispensed within a relatively close distance of the point at which it will be imbibed. Such containers with the closure lids emplaced thereon are used for "carry-out" services, as from a luncheonette, or for "carry-about" services, as from an on-the-premises beverage source such as a coffee brewer, a milk container, a carbonated or non-carbonated liquid vessel or a supply of hot water for tea or chocolate. It is customary to cap such containers with closure lids for carry-out purposes and to remove the lids when the potable is to be consumed; indeed it is quite usual to supply lids with the containers -- although not attached -- when the containers are sold to carry-out stores and to on-the-premises facilities where there are a large number of persons.
