Abstract: A bulk liquid (e.g. wine, etc.) container of the type having an outer carton and an inner flexible pouch or bag, and means including a tap for dispensing the liquids. The tap is normally disposed in a separate housing that is attached to one wall outwardly to dispensing position, whereby a seal is established between one end of the tap and a fitting on the pouch, a sealing membrane of the pouch is disrupted and finally a secondary seal is established. Also a tap construction having means for establishing the second seal and a housing tap assembly.
Abstract: A beverage container has an internal vertical tube joined to an upper part of the container. An external L-shaped tube has one end interconnected to the container top in alignment with the internal vertical tube. The L-shaped tube can be rotated so that in one position the L-shaped tube overlaps the cover in a storage position and in a second position part of the L-shaped tube extends outwardly of the container for drinking. In the stored position, a porthole in the L-shaped tube is non-aligned with a porthole in the container. The portholes align when the L-shaped tube is rotated for drinking.
Abstract: A self-contained pouring spout which can be attached to a container over a single opening in the container. The structure includes a spout which is attached to the side of a container by a hinged tab and swings in and out through an opening in the container. The spout is controlled by a slide plate mounted in a guide channel, which is fixed on top of the container above the opening, the slide plate being connected to the spout by flexible straps on opposite sides, leaving a dispensing opening between the straps. A detent on the slide plate and guide channel holds the spout in closed position, and a finger pad is provided on the slide plate for positive grip and to make the spout action a one hand operation.
Abstract: A dispensing closure can be constructed utilizing a washer spring around an opening through the cap of such a closure so as to resiliently bias a sealing surface carried by the washer spring against the spout of such a closure.
Abstract: A hollow device which can be easily carried in a pocket or purse and in which can be inserted a spray can used to carry substances for inhalation. Mechanical means are provided wherein the device is kept in a closed position when not in use but can be easily activated to expose the nozzle portion of the spray can to permit utilization of the can.

Abstract: A dispensing closure having a cap adapted to be mounted upon a container and a spout mounted on the cap so as to be capable of being moved between an open and closed position can be made child resistant through the use of an engagement structure on the spout such as, for example, a notch in the base of the spout located so that a vertically directed force exerting against the engagement structure will not tend to move the spout from the closed position. The cap and the spout employed should be dimensioned so that the spout is incapable of being manually engaged so as to be manipulated when in the closed position.
Abstract: A safety-type dispensing closure can be constructed using a spout rotatably mounted on a closure body so that it is capable of being rotated between open and closed positions and using a retainer movably mounted on the retainer body. The retainer used in such a closure is capable of being moved to a position in which it does not interfere with spout rotation between the two positions specified and to other positions in which it blocks such movement. The retainer used is preferably a ring rotatably mounted on the closure body so as to be conveniently accessible and so as to appear as a part of the body.
Abstract: An improved spout for a dispensing closure of the swivel-spout type for use with a container for fluent substances has a hollow cylindrical knuckle received with a snap fit in mating bearing openings in a base for rotatable relation therewith to position the spout between "on" and "off" positions. A hollow nozzle intersects the knuckle wall. The knuckle has sealing and sliding contact with pads on the base and with a protuberant ring circumjacent a passage in the base for exit of the contents of the container through the bore of the nozzle when the spout is in the "on" position.
Abstract: A bottle screw cap carries a dispensing nozzle member on its top face for swinging about a vertical axis in a recess in the top face between retracted and extended positions in which the discharge end of the nozzle is within and beyond the peripheral edge of the screw cap top, the nozzle proximal end being out of and in registry with a port in the cap communicating with its interior when the nozzle member is in its retracted and extended position respectively. In one form, the top face is oval and includes a vertical tubular post having an outlet port and the nozzle member terminates at its proximal end in a cap rotatably engaging the post. In another form, the top face is circular and the recess is delineated by a chord and the periphery, the shoulder along the chord having a housing recess in which the retracted nozzle member nests.
Abstract: A child resistant dispensing closure can be constructed by modifying a known type of cap and a known type of spout so that the spout fits entirely within an elongated groove in the cap when the spout is in a closed position. When the spout is in such a position the end of the spout which is normally engaged to move the spout between opened and closed positions is located within this groove in the top of the cap facing the interior of a part of the skirt. This part of the skirt is preferably separated from the remainder of the skirt by slits leading from the top of the cap along opposed sides of the part. This part is capable of being temporarily distended by manual manipulation so as to permit spout movement. Preferably such spout movement is initiated by applying pressure to a portion of the spout remote from the noted end of the spout.
Abstract: There is provided a safety closure container in which the neck portion of the container has slots and a notch. A cap having lugs is secured to the neck portion, with the lugs being accommodated by its slots. The cap is also provided with a latch at its forward end and a hinge. In addition, the cap has a depending cam portion on the underside thereof. A sleeve surrounds the cap and the neck of the container. The sleeve has an internally extended rod which extends into the notch portion of the neck of the container and interlocks with the latch on the cap to prevent inadvertent opening thereof. A bar provided interiorly of the sleeve also extends into the notch in the neck of the container limiting the movement of the sleeve. The neck of the container also has an inwardly extending shoulder upon which the cap rests. A gasket is normally disposed on the shoulder and underneath the cap.
