Patent number: 4726491Abstract: A pour spout container with a pour spout which may be pulled out of the container is disclosed as including a container (10) and a pour spout (24, 48). The sealing cap (20, 50) is provided for sealing the container and the pour spout. Threads (16, 22) are formed between the cap and a container neck (12). Threads (30, 32) are formed between an inner cap (20a, 50a) and pour spout (24, 48). Turns of threads (30, 32) are greater than the turns of threads (16, 22) so that the sealing cap may be removed from the container while remaining attached to the pour spout. Grasping of the cap may be utilized to extend the pour spout fully from the container without contacting the pour spout which has been in contact with the fluid in the container. Thereafter the cap may be removed from the pour spout for dispensing fluid. Patent number: 4306678Abstract: A holder for a coin-operated carwash wand containing a spring-biased, friction brake triggered by the pressure of fluid jetting from the wand. The brake prevents the wand or gun from being inadvertently jetted out of the holder should the user mistakenly insert his coins before the gun is removed from the holder. The frictional resistance engagement of the brake is sufficient to overcome the jetting force but is low enough to allow the user to pull the gun out of the holder even when the brake is on. The holder is also spring-mounted to its wall bracket so that it can rotate 90.degree. in the event the wand hose becomes snagged on a portion of the automobile being serviced, thus allowing the wand to be pulled out of the holder rather than having the holder ripped off the wall or the hose system otherwise damaged.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1979Date of Patent: December 22, 1981Inventor: Harold M. Patent number: 4022357Abstract: A retractable pouring spout closure for dispensing liquid products from containers in a safe and controlled manner. The closure consists of a plastic nozzle with integrally molded captive cap for friction fit engagement within a container wall opening. A tearing diaphragm seals off the upper end of the nozzle and has a cylindrical wall depending from its lower surface within the confines of the nozzle throat. A retractable pouring spout has its upper end tightly surrounding the depending cylinderical wall in stored position so as to require breaking of the diaphragm seal prior to unplugging the spout.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 1975Date of Patent: May 10, 1977Assignee: American Flange & Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: Davis B. Patent number: 3995769Abstract: A dispensing device for gasoline or the like liquid fuel which is mounted on a base structure or island as a part of the device, which occupies a relatively narrow space and may be of a hollow body so as to accomodate at least one of a flow meter, a fuel pump, and a motor for driving the pump. The device has at least three indication surfaces each directed in different direction around the device, so that an amount of the fuel dispensed and indicated on said surfaces can be read from any position around the device.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 1975Date of Patent: December 7, 1976Assignees: Nippon Oil Company Ltd., Tokyo Tatsuno Co., Ltd.Inventors: Etsuo Kuwabara, Masamitu Tadano, Mitsuo Horiuchi, Makoto Yoda, Saburo Ishida, Astushi Toba, Susumu Ohhashi, Yoshiro Iwano, Kazuo Sasaki, Mitsuo Iwano, Hiyoshi Tatsuno

Patent number: 3957181Abstract: A child resistant dispensing closure can be constructed by modifying a known type of cap and a known type of spout so that the spout fits entirely within an elongated groove in the cap when the spout is in a closed position. When the spout is in such a position the end of the spout which is normally engaged to move the spout between opened and closed positions is located within this groove in the top of the cap facing the interior of a part of the skirt. This part of the skirt is preferably separated from the remainder of the skirt by slits leading from the top of the cap along opposed sides of the part. This part is capable of being temporarily distended by manual manipulation so as to permit spout movement. Preferably such spout movement is initiated by applying pressure to a portion of the spout remote from the noted end of the spout.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 1975Date of Patent: May 18, 1976Assignee: Polytop CorporationInventor: Robert E. Patent number: 3934760Abstract: A combined closure and pouring spout assembly is disclosed. The assembly consists of an outer closure member adapted to be received within an opening provided in a container and the outer closure has an outwardly opening recess to receive a closure plug. An inner transverse wall is provided in the outer closure and defines a bottom for the recess and a circular aperture is provided in the inner transverse wall and an elongate tube in the form of a pouring spout having inner and outer ends is carried in the circular aperture. The spout has throughout a major portion of its length an outer diameter less than the diameter of the aperture whereby the spout may be moved, when the closure plug is removed, to an extended pouring position and to a retracted non-pouring position.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1974Date of Patent: January 27, 1976Inventor: Edsel Le Gresley
