With Hose Pressure Relief Or Maintenance Patents (Class 222/73)
  • Patent number: 11926519
Abstract: A dispensing pump for fuel vending systems, comprising a pump body which forms internally a pumping chamber, which rotatably accommodates an impeller, functionally connected to a motor, and provided with an intake connector and a delivery connector, which communicate with the pumping chamber and can be connected to a fuel dispensing line; the pump body has at least one coupling portion for at least one auxiliary device of the dispensing line.

  • Patent number: 6662970
Abstract: An on demand oil dispensing system for motor vehicles including an electric motor driving a gear pump having flow paths including an intake line connected to an oil reservoir and a discharge line having a manual shut-off valve at the end thereof and a pressure sensing switch positioned in the discharge line which cuts off power to the motor and pump when the pressure in the discharge line rises above a set level and a reverse flow check valve in the discharge line upstream of the pressure sensing switch.

  • Patent number: 6354464
Abstract: A gasoline dispensing system and method according to which one end of a dispensing hose is connected to a source of gasoline, and a nozzle is connected to the other end of the hose for dispensing the gasoline. A conductor is connected to a source of energy to cause the energy to be transmitted flow through the conductor. The conductor extends through the length of the hose and the dispensing of the gasoline is terminated when current ceases to flow through the conductor as a result of it breaking in response to a drive-off, or the like.

  • Patent number: 5762104
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a system for pumping a liquid from a storage tank, through a pipe and out of a valve of a liquid dispenser. The apparatus comprises a manifold housing having a main flow passage formed therein, a check valve mounted in said main flow passage and enabling liquid to flow from the storage tank to the liquid dispenser, and a manually-operated pressure relief mechanism around the check valve. The mechanism comprises a bypass flow passage formed in the housing in parallel with the check valve, and a stopper which normally closes the bypass flow passage. To relieve the liquid pressure, the stopper is manually moved to a relief position where it is removed from the bypass flow passage, thereby enabling the liquid to flow around the check valve. To resume normal operation, the stopper is returned to its normal position where it blocks the bypass flow passage. The stopper is movably mounted in a bore in the housing, and the bore extends to an opening at the exterior surface of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5143258
Abstract: A liquid fuel dispensing system having a fuel reservoir and a plurality of remote fuel dispensers, each of which including a suction pump and a pressure regulator valve positioned in the fuel conduit on the inlet side of the suction pump. A pressure relief passage is positioned in the fuel conduit in parallel with the regulator valve. When the vapor pressure of the fuel on the inlet side of the regulator valve exceeds a predetermined pressure, the pressure relief valve opens to permit the flow of fuel through the relief passage within the conduit, thus bypassing the regulator valve.

  • Patent number: 4919305
Abstract: A fuel dispensing nozzle for refueling vehicles is disclosed. The nozzle provides a poppet valve for manually controlling the flow rate through the nozzle and an automatic flow control regulator for limiting the maximum flow rate through the nozzle to a predetermined maximum flow rate. The illustrated embodiment provides the automatic flow regulator in an existing passage within the nozzle body downstream from the poppet valve. Therefore, the regulator can be retrofitted into existing nozzles without separate fasteners or the like. The regulator includes a polymeric sleeve having lateral ports and a piston slidable in the sleeve providing an orifice around the operating rod of the poppet valve. A spring normally maintains the piston in its full open position. When flow rates approach the maximum desired predetermined flow rate, a pressure drop occurs through the orifice, producing a force overcoming the spring and causing the piston to move down and partially cover the ports in the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4116246
Abstract: A machine for dispensing a beverage into a container formed from a mixture of a dry granular base food product and water. The machine has a product metering unit carrying a food product storage container. The metering unit has a rotatable auger driven by a drive mechanism including an electric motor to dispense food product into a mixing bowl. A solenoid control valve operates to control the flow of water to the mixing bowl when the electric motor for the dispensing unit is actuated. An adjustable means restricts the size of the water carrying hose from the valve to the bowl to regulate the flow rate of water to the mixing bowl.
