When the basket is attached to a ski pole, a skier can use the pole to press down on the ski boot while he/she removes his/her foot from the boot while in a substantially erect standing position.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to a footwear removal device that includes two bases and a bridge connecting that two bases. Each of the bases has a front grip and a rear grip for catching the toe cap and the heel of the footwear, respectively. The bridge coupled to the two bases in a rotatable manner or a removable manner so that the bases and the footwear removable device can be folded or disassembled for carrying or storing. Each of the bases may be a single solid piece or comprise two parts that can be disassembled/assembled to change the overall length of the base. Embodiments provide a simple, inexpensive footwear removal device with a small number of components and are easy to assemble and carry.

Abstract: A device for assisting with tightening footwear laces includes a frame configured to at least partially surround a portion of the footwear. The footwear has laces and sidewalls. The device also includes at least two compression pads coupled to the frame. The compression pads are positioned so as to contact a respective sidewall of the footwear. The compression pads have a distance between them that is adjustable so as to cause the compression pads to press the sidewalls of the footwear inwardly.

Abstract: The shoe removal assist device is a device that is adapted for use with shoes. The shoe removal assist device is a lever operated device that grips the heel of a shoe with a plurality of spikes. The plurality of spikes grip the shoe such that the shoe removal assist device holds the shoe in position and allows the wearer to remove their shoe from the foot. The shoe removal assist device is configured such that it can be operated from a standing position. The shoe removal assist device comprises a shoe grip, a shaft, and a handle.

Abstract: An aid or device for assisting a person in putting on his or her shoes when the person uses an ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) has a generally flat platform or frame on which the shoe rests. A toe strap or restraint holds the toe of the shoe, and an elastic or spring-biased cord at the heel end has a clip or hook that attaches to the upper part of the orthosis. A handle at the toe-end or distal end extends upwards and permits the wearer to manipulate the donning aid with the shoe and orthosis so he or she can don the shoes without assistance of others. The donning aid can be formed from a sheet of ABS material with suitable cutouts for toe restraint and hand-hold.

Abstract: A boot jack for gripping a boot to assist a user in removal of the user's foot therefrom, of the type comprising a frame and a plate, secured to the frame, having a U-shaped notch for receiving and gripping the boot above the users heel. In this type of boot jack, according to the invention, the plate is supported on a frame in a downwardly inclined orientation towards the notch, when the frame is supported on a horizontal base, the plate being supported at a height above the base to permit the user's toes to press against the base as a fulcrum to facilitate removal of the user's foot from the boot when the boot is gripped in the U-shaped notch. A fulcrum or leverage block may be provided to accomodate variation in size of foot.

Abstract: A boot jack is described which provides a step tread surface on the top thereof having a generally V-shaped opening arranged about a longitudinal axis for receiving the heel of a boot to be removed from one leg of the user. The opening is formed by a pair of downwardly extending surfaces which terminate in opposed boot heel engaging edges. Left and right foot rest areas are defined by the step tread surface for accommodating the heel and ball of the foot of the other leg. The foot rest areas are symmetrically arranged about the longitudinal axis with a line bisecting each area extending at an acute angle to the longitudinal axis. The boot heel engaging edges are positioned below the step tread surface a sufficient distance to require the knee of the other leg to be bent when the boot to be removed is within the boot heel opening so that primarily the larger muscles of the other leg may be used to remove the boot.

Abstract: An arrangement for removing shoe wear from a wearer's foot, such as a ski boot or the like, wherein the boot may be clamped and retained on a support by a manually adjustable upright means operately associated with the boot support to hold and clamp various sizes of boot on the support to permit a person wearing the boot to withdraw his or her foot from the boot while standing in an erect comfortable position.
