Patent number: 11085727Abstract: Various examples of a tool-free dust cover for firearms are described. The dust cover is a monolithic piece having a cover plate, a first connection portion, and a second connection portion, with at least one of the first connection portion and the second connection portion being elastically deformable to allow the dust cover to be pivotably coupled to a receiver portion of the firearm. The first connection portion is received in a cavity of a first hinge knuckle on the receiver portion next to a first long side of an ejection port of the receiver portion. The second connection portion is received in a cavity of a second hinge knuckle on the receiver portion next to the first long side of the ejection port. When in an open position, the cover plate uncovers the ejection port. When in a closed position, the cover plate covers the ejection port.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 2019Date of Patent: August 10, 2021Assignee: Strike Industries, Inc.Inventor: YiHuei Jen

Patent number: 10545004Abstract: A bullet casing capturing assembly includes a wire that has a sequence of bends thereon to define a handle portion of the wire and a sock portion of the wire. The sock portion is positioned above and is laterally offset with the handle portion. The handle portion engages a handle of a semi-automatic firearm thereby facilitating the sock portion to be aligned with an ejection slot of the semi-automatic firearm. In this way the sock portion is aligned with a trajectory of bullet casings is ejected from the ejection slot. A sock is removably coupled to the sock portion of the wire to capture the bullet casings being ejected from the ejection slot.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2019Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Inventor: Rodney Forbes

Patent number: 10309738Abstract: A cartridge case catcher and associated methods. The cartridge case catcher is configured to catch cartridges ejected from an action of a firearm. The cartridge case catcher includes a mount for mounting to the firearm. The cartridge case catcher includes a receptacle having a case compartment sized for carrying cases ejected from the action. A mouth of the catcher provides access to the case compartment. A pivot connection connects the receptacle to the mount. The receptacle is movable with respect to the mount about the pivot connection between an operational orientation to receive cases ejected from the firearm action and an access orientation in which the receptacle permits access to the action of the firearm.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2017Date of Patent: June 4, 2019Assignee: Battenfeld Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Anthony Vesich, James Tayon, Michael Cottrell, Dennis W. Patent number: 7134233Abstract: A catcher, in combination with a firearm having an ejection port, for receiving and retaining expended magnetically attracted shell casings through the ejection port as the firearm is discharged. The catcher includes a hollow housing having a plurality of rigid walls, and retainers. One of the walls has an opening in communication with the ejection port when the catcher is mounted to the firearm for receiving the shell casings. At least one of the other walls includes a plurality of deflectors and each of the deflectors has a front face that is slanted away from the opening such that the deflectors are capable of deflecting the shell casings away from the opening and a rear face that is perpendicular to the planar surface of the housing or slanted away from the opening.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2006Date of Patent: November 14, 2006Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the ArmyInventor: Thomas W. Patent number: 6659316Abstract: This invention is a quiver for carrying sporting equipment or tools over the shoulder; it can be converted into a free-standing structure; and it can be disassembled when not in use for ease of storing and traveling. The quiver consists of a plurality of rigid tubes, with a means for holding the assembled tubes into a stable structure suspended from a shoulder strap. The quiver also allows peripheral equipment to be attached by such means as clips, hook-and-loop-type fasteners, hanging containers, and so forth. The shoulder strap is adjustable, for comfortable, hands-free carrying and for hanging the quiver from a chair, a hook, or other furnishing. Adding wheels allows the quiver to be rolled or carried. The quiver can also be converted into a stand which holds equipment off the ground. Further, after use, the quiver can easily be disassembled into individual protective casings for transport or shipping; when disassembled, the quiver components require less packing space.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2002Date of Patent: December 9, 2003Inventors: Rebecca B Fleming, Judith B Esterquest
