Abstract: A storage compartment includes a housing, a lid, a locking mechanism, and a closure mechanism. The lid is pivotally coupled to the housing about a pivot axis for movement between a closed position and an opened position. The locking mechanism is displaceable in a first direction to move between an unlocked position and a locked position, the first direction extending generally normal to the pivot axis. The closure mechanism is configured to inhibit movement of the lid from the closed position towards the opened position upon movement of the locking mechanism to the unlocked position due to movement of the housing in the first direction with respect to the lid.

Abstract: A cup holder assembly includes a base. A side wall is coupled to the base and extends cup holder assembly-upward from the base to generally define a cavity for receiving a cup. A bracket is pivotably coupled to the base and is operable to pivot between a first position and a second position. A retention feature is coupled to the bracket and is configured to engage with the base if the bracket is in the second position to retain the bracket in the second position. An electronic device is operable between an unassembled position and an assembled position in which the electronic device is engaged with the bracket, wherein the electronic device is configured to move with the bracket as the bracket pivots between the first and second positions if the electronic device is in the assembled position.

Abstract: A container device for storing an identification device in a vehicle includes a key compartment with a cavity in which the identification device can be stored. An insert can store the identification device in the cavity of the container device. A container system and a method of actuating the identification device are provided.

Abstract: A vehicle storage device includes a panel, a storage unit provided adjacent to the panel, having an opening in a certain part thereof, and capable of storing a person's goods and belongings therein, a lid which can open and close the opening, and a locking device capable of keeping the lid in a closed state. An operation unit includes a design surface that is exposed in a vehicle interior. One end of the operation unit design surface is substantially continuous from a design surface of the panel, and the other end of the operation unit design surface is positioned adjacent to the lid.

Abstract: A cell phone holder for use with an automotive seatbelt. The device is to be attached to a seatbelt strap using a hook and loop fastener, a magnet or two-sided tape attachment methods. Magnets of the device hold a cell phone in place while in use. A magnetic plate with an adhesive side is provided to be attached to a back end of the mobile device. The magnetic plate is then received by the holder to facilitate a secure attachment. The holder may be provided in several embodiments, one embodiment may include a holder having a slit that is then mounted onto the seatbelt. Another embodiment may be provided as a foldable holder that folds over the seatbelt and is then secured through a provided fastener. Yet another embodiment may include a holder having butterfly clutch clips on a back end to be attached to the seatbelt.

Abstract: A vehicle console has a rotatable portion with opposite sides that are different distances from a rotational axis. Rotation by 180 degrees from a first position to a second position changes the vertical position of a beam portion of the console. One side can have a particular look or functionality, and the opposite side can have a different look or functionality thereby giving users more choices while occupying the vehicle cabin.

Abstract: A rotary holder device includes: a vehicle interior member having an opening portion formed with a predetermined shape in an upper surface thereof; and a rotary body mounted on the vehicle interior member so as to be rotatable about a horizontal axis extending in a horizontal direction. The rotary body has a first holder portion and a second holder portion provided at rotation angle positions different from each other. The first holder portion has a first opening formed in a shape corresponding to the predetermined shape, and a first bottom wall facing the first opening at a position at the horizontal axis side with respect to the first opening. The second holder portion has a second opening formed in a rectangular shape, and a second bottom wall facing the second opening at a position at the horizontal axis side with respect to the second opening.

Abstract: A deployable storage assembly (10) having a mounting portion (12) and at least one base (14) hinged to the mounting portion (12) for deploying between an open position for storage and a closed position. At least one frame arrangement (22) is connected to the mounting portion (12) to allow the base (14) to rotate to the open position and hold the base (14) when opened to provide a storage compartment. The frame arrangement (22) provides the sides and front of the storage compartment, while the mounting portion (12) fixed to the vehicle provides the rear surface and the base (14) provides the bottom surface. A retaining device (26) coupled to the frame arrangement (22) and base (14) contains items within the storage compartment. At least one fastener (28) is connected to the mounting portion (12) for selectively holding the at least one base (14) in a closed/stowed position. Undoing the at least one fastener (28) allows the base (14) to fold down to the open position providing storage space.

The frame has a pair of spaced longitudinal beams and at least two lateral ribs secured to the longitudinal beams, the rib nearest the distal ends of the beams including at least one portion having a circular cross-section. The removable load carrying body has a continuous surface surrounded by an upwardly extending perimeter. A downwardly extending coupling member fixed to the body removably and pivotally engages the rib nearest the distal ends of the beams so that the body can be tilted with respect to the frame. Downward flanges along each side of the body for engage ends of the lateral ribs of the frame to provide lateral stability for the body.

Abstract: An improved ash tray for use in vehicles having armrests with "fire boxes" therein which are covered by escutheons provided with detents for resiliently retaining the ash tray therein and which detents have become bent or damaged; said ash tray comprising a receptacle portion, a cover portion, and a generally U-shaped insert member, formed of spring steel or the like, having a crosspiece having a pair of resilient legs extending outward and downward from the upper edge of the crosspiece adjacent respective ends thereof. The U-shaped insert member is clamped between the cover portion and the rim of the receptacle portion so that the crosspiece lies within the receptacle, while the legs lie outside of the receptacle portion in position to engage the edge of the escutcheon opening and to resiliently retain the ash tray in position.

Abstract: A storage turntable is comprised of a prism having spaced apart polygonal ends connected by a plurality of rectangular sides. Each of the sides provides a desired storage accessory such as a beverage container receptacle or a coin storage device. One side of the turntable is a plain planar surface which merely closes the opening. The console has a rectangular opening and the turntable is rotatably mounted within the opening by axles which extend from the polygonal ends of the prism and are rotatably journaled in bearing blocks attached to the console housing so that rotary movement of the prism sequentially registers a desired one of the storage accessories with the console opening for access by the vehicle occupant. A round thumb wheel is attached to the prism and extends above the surface of the console to provide a convenient means by which the turntable can be rotated. A detent is provided to retain the turntable at the selected position.

Abstract: Safety supporting devices to automatically securely maintain the rearwardly tilted elevated condition of the cargo dumping box of overland drayage vehicles are provided. The safety supporting device comprises an elongated multi-teeth rack freely pivotably depending from the dump box rearward portion and automatically securely engageable with a detent rigidly mounted to the vehicle chassis. The rack and detent combination maintains the selected degree of dump box rearward tilt. When it is later desired to allow the dump box to descend, vehicular personnel actuatably withdraw the rack from the detent, including desirable optional provision for remotely controlled withdrawal initiatable from the drayman's station e.g. the operator's cab of a dump truck.
