  • Patent number: 7055724
Abstract: The support unit is essentially a box-like structure having a bottom, a top, two opposing side walls, a front door, a locking device for the front door, and a rear wall opposing the front door. The front door is pivotally attached to the side walls and positioned to allow a tool box or other container to be removed from, or placed into the support unit when the door is open and to prevent removal of the container when the door is closed. The container support unit is designed to securely hold a toolbox, or other box-like container, such as a U.S. Army-issue ammunition can. The support unit can be mounted to the side wall of the cargo area of a pickup truck, under the top rail of the cargo area sidewall, in front or behind the wheel well and suspended above the floor of the cargo area. The support unit can also be mounted on other vehicles, such as a boat, or any other suitable structure, such as a garage wall.

  • Patent number: 7044528
Abstract: The wheeled cargo container for a pickup or other similar vehicle is a cargo box that will swing out to facilitate the loading of cargo. The design allows the weight of the box and the cargo placed into it to be carried by the shoulder of the hinge bracket and the wheel or wheels. The weight therefore is not a hanging weight as would be the case of a door on its hinges. When the wheeled cargo container is retracted to the out position it stops directly above the tailgate. This allows a person to load cargo without the need to bend over to reach past the tailgate and into the bed of pickup or other similar vehicle. When the wheeled cargo container is retracted into the bed of a vehicle it is kept in place by a bumper that rests against the inside of the tailgate of said vehicle. The container therefore cannot move while the vehicle is in motion and the tailgate is closed.

  • Patent number: 6986541
Abstract: The present invention is an integrated storage compartment for a truck bed liner. A divider panel and an enclosure panel are formed by either molding or cutting slits on three sides of the liner bottom or rear wall, respectively. The fourth sideforms a living hinge. The living hinge allows the unattached portion of the truck bed liner bottom to move freely about the hinge. The side walls of the truck bed liner include receiving channels into which the divider and enclosure panels are locked into place. The side walls also have a closure means which comprise horizontal protrusions that form a closure channel to receive the enclosure panel. Thus, an operator can position the divider panel to a 90 position with respect to the bottom and lock it into the receiving channels found on the side walls. The enclosure panel is rotated to a 90 position with respect to a base panel and is inserted into the closure means to form, in conjunction with the divider panel, an enclosed trunk storage compartment.

Abstract: An improved truck bed toolbox lid and a method of producing the same. The truck bed toolbox lid includes an outer metallic sheet layer comprising a generally rectangular top sheet member, a longitudinal front edge member, two lateral edge members and a longitudinal rear edge member. A metallic liner sheet member is disposed inside the top sheet member in edge contact abutment with beveled inside edges of the front and rear longitudinal edge members and the lateral edge members to create an internal cavity in which the liner is by stitch welding. One or more injection ports are provided through the liner sheet member through which a self-expanding and self-curing, relatively high-density, foam is injected. The stitch welded edge contacts leave non-welded, gas permeable junctions along the wedged cavity periphery at a funneled apex of the edge contacted boundary which facilitate expansion of the foam toward the outermost edges of the cavity.
