Carrier For Bow Or Arrow Patents (Class 224/916)
  • Patent number: 4768689
Abstract: A multi-purpose sling includes an elongated flexible strap with a hook attached to one end, with the other end of the strap attached to the middle bar of a slide buckle threaded on the strap, thereby forming an adjustable loop. A second hook is attached to a ring which is threaded onto the strap in the adjustable loop. Each hook is J-shaped and large enough to freely hold the string of a compound bow.In a second embodiment, a hook is attached to one end of a flexible strap and the strap is then looped through a large ring. The strap is then threaded through a ring attached to the strap near the first hook, and then through a second ring which is loose on the strap. The other end of the strap is then fastened to the large ring to form a double loop arrangement. A second hook is connected to the loose ring. In this embodiment, the hooks are generally U-shaped with a narrow throat portion which will snap onto a ring or similar member on the item to be carried.

  • Patent number: 4760944
Abstract: A sling assembly for a bow or the like includes a pair of mounting members adapted to be wrapped around the bow and a sling which is removably attached to the mounting members. Each of the mounting members comprises a sheet of fabric and Velcro fasteners on the fabric for securing the fabric after it is wrapped around the bow. A buckle on the fabric is attachable to a buckle on the sling. A sling assembly for a rifle includes one of the bow mounting members and a strap having a buckle on one end and a loop on the other end. The strap can be wrapped around the barrel of a gun, and the buckle is inserted through the loop to form a noose which can be tightened around the barrel.

  • Patent number: 4684047
Abstract: The present invention concerns a support for an archery bow which also permits an arrow to be carried with its notched end engaged with the bow string. The support includes a loop for attachment to the archer's wearing apparel and is preferably fabricated from a single strand of wire bent to a configuration including means for engagement thereof with the archer's belt, and a pair of spaced, V-shaped portions upon which the bow string rests. Centrally disposed between the V-shaped portions are a pair of spaced, parallel members between which the notched end of the arrow is positioned, in frictional engagement with the bow string and suspended downwardly therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4621752
Abstract: A holster to carry a compound bow at the waist of the archer in a nonrigid position. The holster is constructed of flexible material characterized by leather and a plastic in such a manner to form an oblong shaped pocket in which the bow handle is placed and secured by a safety strap. The bow can either be carried in a nonrigid horizontal position or tilted and secured adjacent to the archer's leg by means of a strap attached to the archer's leg. This bow holster protects the bow from expensive damage and allows unrestricted use of the hands.

  • Patent number: 4607606
Abstract: A bow mounted quiver includes a storage apparatus for releasably housing a plurality of arrows on one side of the bow and a counterweight mounted on an opposite side of the bow to compensate for the twisting torque produced by the weight of the storage apparatus and the arrows contained therein. Both the counterweight and the storage apparatus are secured to the bow by means of externally threaded shaft members. In a preferred embodiment, one counterweight threadably engages the external threads on the shaft member and is rotatable thereon so as to vary the torque produced thereby. That is, as arrows are removed from the quiver, the counterweight may be rotated clockwise so as to cause its movement toward the bow. As arrows are added to the quiver, the counterweight is rotated counter-clockwise increasing its distance from the bow and thereby increasing the torque produced thereby.

  • Patent number: 4480774
Abstract: The crossbow carrying case includes opposed based and cover sections having a generally triangular shape and interconnected along one edge to permit movement of the cover section between an open position and a closed position wherein the cover and base sections are in facing relationship and cooperate to define a compartment for receiving an assembled crossbow ready for use. When in the closed position, the base and cover sections are releasably fastened together along the other two edges by a zipper or the like. The crossbow is releasably held in place inside the compartment by a pair of longitudinally spaced tie down straps secured to the inner surface of the base section at locations corresponding to the narrowed hand grip portion of the crossbow stock and the area immediately forward of the forehand grip of the crossbow stock.

  • Patent number: 4363312
Abstract: An archery quiver for detachable connection to an archery bow having a telescoping prong and socket mounting arrangement in which all of the components are made of plastic and in which the prong and socket are locked relative to each other by a deflectable plastic latch and latch release mechanism. The latch is deflected upon relative movement of the prong and socket to permit telescoping after which the latch returns to its original position to prevent separation. A separate release mechanism is used to deflect the latch to permit detachment of the quiver from a bow.
