Abstract: Apparatus and methods for applying a barrier to a medical scope are provided. An apparatus may comprise a source of film and a housing. The housing may comprise a chamber configured to support therein the source of film, and an opening provided through a wall of the housing to permit a portion of the film to extend out of the chamber when the film is dispensed. The housing may comprise a recess located such that the extended portion of the film is permitted to hang freely in proximity to the recess. The recess may be sized to receive a distal portion of the medical scope. The recess may be adapted to allow the extended portion of the film to be applied to the distal portion of the medical scope when the distal portion is placed into the recess with the portion of the film located therebetween.

The main plates, and corresponding circumferential wall plates, are rotatable relative to one another to expose a support structure for a tape roll. A cutting blade may be provided on one of the circumferential wall plates and may include a substantially arc shaped support surface.

At least one writing implement is preferably staged in the storage area in the housing. The leading edge of the roll of material is pulled to a selected length to be used to wrap a food product. A cutting apparatus is used to cut the selected length of material. The food product is wrapped with the selected length of material. A label is removed from the roll of labels, marked with the staged writing implement and placed on the wrapped food product.

The cutting assembly includes a base, a cutter with a blade at an end, a shield, a shield base and a wiper plate. The shield is moved between a first position, in which the shield covers the blade of the cutter to protect users from hurt by the cutter, and a second position, in which the shield exposes the blade of the cutter to cut a tape off. The wiper plate has an elastic member with an end urging the shield toward the first position. No independent spring is included to reduce a number of elements and a cost of manufacture.

Abstract: A dispenser comprises a frame that supports a roll of adhesive tape, a handle, a flexible spatula for applying the cut end of the tape, and a cutting blade. The flexible spatula forms a right-angled member having a main arm and another arm which supports the cutting blade. The right-angled member is mounted so as to be rotatable between a rest position, in which the cutting blade is pressed by a spring against a protective member, and a working position, in which the cutting blade is lifted from the protective member so that serrations thereon intersect the path of the adhesive tape. This protective member has a face, on which the blade rests, and which ends in a projecting lip, forming a frontal protection for the serrations on the blade.

The control mechanism has a protective mechanism, a wiper and a cutting mechanism. When the tape cutter is not in use, the protective mechanism is extended over the cutting mechanism outside the tape cutter to avoid hurting users.

The blade holder is provided with two fixing studs and a receiving groove. The blade has two oval holes fitted around the fixing studs of the blade holder. The blade slide base is mounted on the blade to activate the blade to move forward, and provided with two oval holes, a projecting stud and a spring. The press plate is formed with a push plate at the lower end for pushing the blade slide base. The blade is sandwiched between the blade slide base and the blade holder to be guided and restricted in shifting, so that it can automatically cut off an adhesive tape with precision when the press plate is pressed.

Abstract: An adhesive-tape cutting device of an adhesive-tape holder includes a side plate provided on one side of a blade holder of the adhesive-tape holder. The side plate is provided with a support rod and a pivotal shaft. A press plate is formed with a push plate at its lower end to push a slide base together with a blade to move forward, with a curved support member formed between the press plate and the push plate and rested against the support rod of the side plate. The curved support member rests against the support rod serving as a fulcrum, operating the press plate with a little force to let the blade cut off an adhesive tape easily. The press plate is sandwiched between the support rod and the slide base, so it is needless to be additionally provided with any fixing member, economizing cost and facilitating assembling.

Abstract: An adhesive-tape cutting device of an adhesive-tape holder has a position-limiting device provided between the vertical short side of a slide base and the push plate portion of a press plate. The position-limiting device is composed of two position-limiting holes bored on the vertical short side of the slide base and two insert studs fixed on the push plate portion of the press plate, and the two insert studs respectively received in the two position-limiting holes to prevent the slide base from sliding leftward or rightward.

The dispenser has a frame including a bridging portion adapted to extend along a portion of the periphery of the roll of sheet material, and end wall portions fixed to the ends of the bridging portion and adapted to extend along the opposite end surfaces of the roll of sheet material on which the roll of sheet material is rotatably journaled. The carrying seat is provided with two longitudinal holes for fastening the carrying seat over the cutter of the adhesive tape dispenser by bolts which are received in the longitudinal holes. The carrying seat is provided in one side with two upright plates which are provided with two locating holes. The cover is pivoted with the carrying seat and is provided in one side with an arcuate tongue and a curved guard extending therefrom at an angle. The cover is provided in other side with two recesses and a flat portion which is provided in two ends thereof with a projection. The projection is retained in the locating hole of the carrying seat.

The blade protecting shield has a frontward edge, a rearward edge opposite to the frontward edge, a projection with two opposed end portions which extend integrally and rearwardly from the rearward edge, and a pair of spaced pivot blocks which extend rearwardly from the rearward edge and which are respectively on two sides of the projection such that a clearance is formed between each of the pivot blocks and a respective one of the opposed end portions of the projection. Each of the pivot blocks has a recess to receive a respective one of the pivot shafts and is pivotable relative to the connecting plates between a first position, wherein the front edge of the blade protecting shield uncovers the blade, and a second position, wherein the blade protecting shield covers the blade.

Abstract: A roll film dispenser is disclosed which utilizes a switch-retractable serrated blade to cut film being dispensed. In one embodiment of the invention, the roll film dispenser contains a roll of film which is arranged so that the end of the roll exits the dispenser through a slot at the top. Severance of the film is accomplished by tearing the sheet over the serrated blade. When not in use, the serrated blade may be manually retracted. Optionally, an acrylic sheet may be interposed between the slot and the blade to aid in stabilizing PVC-type films prior to cutting. A conforming weight is provided at the lower rear of the dispenser to resist rollover.

A roll of clear-wrap is rotatably positioned within the compartment in the housing from the open back between the side walls, so as to be dispensed therefrom through the open top. A mechanism is for retracting and extracting the cutting blade with respect to the top edge of the front wall of the housing by pivoting the handle on the side walls, so that when retracted the cutting blade will be safely stored and when extracted the cutting blade will be able to cut the clear-wrap being dispensed therefrom.

The guard (6) is guided in a gap (5) defined between a strip-like (4) front side of the tear-bar (2) and an inwardly angled part of the wall (1) of the casing intended to accommodate, for instance, a paper-roll holder incorporating the tear-bar (2). For the purpose of limiting movement of the guard (6) between an outer active guard position and an inner inactive position, in which the tear-edge of the tear-bar (2) is exposed, there is provided along the guard (6) a rib (8) which abuts the free edge of the strip-like front side of the tear-bar in the outer position of the guard. The guard is displaced to its inner position in the gap (5) by the material web (P) when severing the paper-web against the tear-bar (2).

Abstract: The invention is a device for opening heat sealed cellophane bags and packages. It is formed of a support bracket assembly, a doubled edged razor blade, and a safety guard assembly. The support bracket assembly is secured to the bottom surface of a cabinet or shelf. One end of the razor blade is inserted into a horizontal slot on the front wall of the support bracket assembly and it is secured in position by a screw. The other end of the razor blade is inserted into a horizontal slot in a vertical wall surface of the safety guard assembly and it is secured therein by a screw. The safety guard assembly is thus entirely supported by the razor blade and at a predetermined spaced distance from the front wall of the support bracket assembly so that a sealed cellophane bag or package can be drawn between their respective wall surfaces thus allowing the razor blade to cut off the heat sealed end of the bag.
