  • Patent number: 9079741
Abstract: A tape applicator to apply tape onto a vertical face of a carton with the tape roll mounted for rotation on a horizontal axis and including a tape deforming device position on a tape path between the tape roll and the point of application of the tape to the carton. The tape deforming device twists the plane of the tape through 90° from horizontal when leaving the tape roll to vertical for application to the vertical face of the carton. The tape applicator can adjust the position of the tape at the point of application to the carton vertically.

  • Patent number: 7828926
Abstract: The present invention provides assemblies and methods for selectively removing resin coatings from a radiation detector. A method includes positioning a cutting edge on a resin coating formed on a radiation detector. The method further includes positioning a bonding member on the resin coating, applying a force to the bonding member such that a portion of the resin coating is pulled away from the radiation detector, and cutting the resin coating so as to detach the portion of the resin coating pulled away from the detector, thereby selectively removing the portion of the resin coating from the radiation detector.

  • Patent number: 6913178
Abstract: A tape dispenser for two or more tape rolls installed therein includes a housing having a first casing and a second casing coupled with each other in which a chamber is formed and a roll mount is provided in the chamber, wherein the housing has an outlet and a cutter mount at where a cutter is mounted. Three disks are installed on the roll mount between each two of the tape rolls, wherein the disk has flexible arms with blocks thereon to be against the neighboring tape rolls respectively such that the disks serve as separators to keep the tape rolls from each other. A button is movably installed on the second casing having four driving to pressing the tape roll, whereby the disks serve as brakes to keep the tape rolls still.

  • Patent number: 5370916
Abstract: The invention provides a longitudinally extending adhesive tape product adapted to be cut off into a plurality of tape segments by use of a transverse cutting edge. The product comprises a longitudinally extending tape wound into a roll, the tape having a first side which is adhesive free, a plurality of longitudinally separated indicia and a second side which has a corresponding plurality of longitudinally separated and transversely extending coating bands of pressure sensitive adhesive. The coating bands have leading and trailing edges and are separated by portions of the second side of the tape which are substantially adhesive free. The indicia are so located relative to the coating bands whereby when one of the indicia is aligned in a specified relation to the cutting edge and a tape segment is cut off, the cut off tape segment has a single one of the coating bands and the coating band on the cut off tape segment is located adjacent a transverse edge of the tape segment.

  • Patent number: 5215240
Abstract: A definite length dispensing apparatus for dispensing thin adhesive tape includes a rotatable feed mechanism, a drive assembly and a rotatable stripper mechanism. The feed mechanism includes a plurality of spaced feed discs that are configured to remove a continuous strip of adhesive tape from the supply of adhesive tape. The drive assembly includes a manually operated lever arm which is coupled to the feed mechanism through a gear assembly. The drive assembly drives the feed mechanism. The stripper mechanism is positioned adjacent to the feed mechanism. The stripper mechanism includes a plurality of spaced stripper discs, with each stripper disc having a peripheral edge defined by alternating curved and straight edge sections. Adjoining stripper discs are rotated relative to one another such that a curved section of one stripper disc is adjacent to the straight section of an adjacent stripper disc. There are multiple feed discs for every one stripper disc.

  • Patent number: 4755254
Abstract: A stand for supporting a roll paper sheet and a roll of tape having an adhesive coating on one face thereof. The stand includes four upright leg members. Opposed roll supports are carried by opposed ones of the leg members. A tape support is carried by another of the leg members. Tape from the roll of tape on the tape support passes over an edge portion of the roll paper sheet to attach a portion of the tape to the edge portion of the roll paper sheet with the adhesive coating of another portion of the tape being exposed.

  • Patent number: 4334945
Abstract: A device for separating shadow masks from a strip of base material includes a conveyor upon which the strip moves. Two loading plates are arranged above the conveyor and press the strip against the conveyor. The loading plates are separated by a space which is angularly disposed with respect to the axis of the conveyor. A tensioned wire is arranged in the space and a magnet raises a fully etched portion of the shadow mask over the tensioned wire as the shadow mask enters the space. The tensioned wire thus shears the partially etched shadow mask from the strip of base material.
