Abstract: A dispensing box with a roll tensioner houses a material roll and maintains a material cutting edge in an upward position for easy grasping during use. The roll tensioner comprises distal and proximal end sections with opposing bottom tabs separated by a spring back reversion section. A roll tensioner slide assembly integrated in the front wall of the dispensing box has opposing parallel slits terminating at opposing parallel slots with parallel locking flaps. Opposing bottom tabs of a roll tensioner are inserted through the parallel slots, resting in a first position during non-use and adapted to be slid down into a second position in the parallel slits when later engaged for use to retain the material cut edge in the upward position for easy grasping. The locking flaps have break-away top and bottom walls abutting a bend wall and are in a stored position and later opened outward to a locking position during use to prevent movement of the roll tensioner.

Abstract: A paper towel dispenser includes a housing for holding a stack of interfolded towels. The housing includes a front wall, a rear wall, two outer side walls, an upper wall and a support surface for the stack of towels, the stack of towels being located adjacent and parallel to at least the front wall. The front wall extends a predetermined distance below the support surface. A dispensing opening is located between the front wall and the support surface, and at least one guide element is arranged to support a leading panel of a first towel adjacent the front wall and a leading edge of the leading panel parallel to the lower edge of the front wall.

Abstract: A device to restrain the unwinding of a roll of paper for use in combination with a paper dispenser is disclosed. The paper dispenser includes a back plate mountable upon a wall, a pair of opposed side plates extending from the back plate for rotatably supporting a roll of paper having a depending lead sheet. The restraining device comprises a base portion mountable to the wall and a support arm extending laterally from the base portion over the roll of paper. The support arm includes a collar located at its free end, the collar including a central opening. The roll braking arm is oriented substantially vertically and extends through the central opening of the support arm. The roll braking arm contacts and applies its weight as a braking force against the roll of paper to restrain the roll of paper from unwinding unnecessarily.

Abstract: A dispensing device for adhesive tape has a flat cylindrical base member with a coaxial axle element inside for the mounting of a roll of adhesive tape. A slit is provided along the wall of the cylindrical base member through which the tape is pulled out. On a section of the wall adjacent to the slit, a curved rectangular buckle is hinged to the wall, which can be flipped away from the slit to be held at an appropriate included angle with the wall. A cutting blade is provided along the outer edge of the buckle for cutting the tape while the end of the remaining tape is automatically adhered to the edge of the buckle. When the buckle is closed to the wall, the exposed segment of the tape is folded between the buckle and the section of wall.

Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses a tape dispenser having a plurality of spindles 26 that will hold various width tape rolls 14 within a housing 30 containing compartments for the tape rolls. The housing 30 is comprised of a rigid material having a plurality of grooves 28 on opposing walls of the housing for axially mounting spindles 26 holding tape rolls 14 therewith. There are serrated members 20 extending from the housing 30 enabling tape to be sheared into any length needed. Cover 16 also has pivots 22 and a locking element 24.

Abstract: A wrapping material dispenser system for providing a dispensing unit with cutting members on both sides without having to lift and turn the dispensing unit. The wrapping material dispenser system includes a housing that has a bottom wall and a perimeter wall for extending upwardly from the bottom wall. A top portion is operationally coupled to the housing. The top portion and the housing defines an interior space. The top portion has a slit that extends therethrough. The top portion has a longitudinal axis. The slit is positioned such that a longitudinal axis of the slit has a parallel relationship with the longitudinal axis of the top portion. A quantity of wrapping material positioned within the interior space. The wrapping material has a first end that extends through the slit facilitating grasping the first end.

Abstract: A movable air-permeable-tape dispenser. The dispenser includes a hollow cylindrical body provided with an axial long opening. A slide channel is parallelly adjacent to a first longitudinal edge of the long opening, and a stepped portion is parallelly adjacent to a second longitudinal edge of the opening. A cover is provided with a row of continuous teeth corresponding to the second longitudinal edge of the long opening and a shaft corresponding to the first longitudinal edge of the long opening. The shaft is fitted in the slide channel to enable the cover to pivotally turn about the shaft between a lifted position for a user to pull out via the long opening a length of air-permeable tape disposed in the cylindrical body.

Abstract: The invention relates to a tape dispenser for producing lengths of tape. The tape dispenser comprises a rotatable roller on which the tape is wound up and a rotatable take-off roller across which the tape to be taken off is guided. The take-off roller has at least one perforation element that is directed against the surface of support of the tape and that is used to perforate the tape. The dispenser is further provided with latch elements that block the take-off roller if the tape has covered a certain distance once it has been perforated. The latch elements release the take-off roller once the perforated section at the tape's end is separated from the tape.

Abstract: The perforated roll dispensing system comprises a hinged cradle within a housing enclosure with easily releasable latch lock. The semi-circular cradle trough provides a stable storage means for perforated roll products. The textured surface of the trough gives useful braking from the friction with the rotating roll for controlled metering and provides adequate resistance to tear and extract unity of the sheet material from the dispenser without unraveling. The hinge and latch feature make it easy to deploy and retract the cradle trough to the loading mode or the dispensing mode. The right angled top enclosure and back panel of the housing can be mounted on a vertical and horizontal surface.

Abstract: A tape dispenser comprises a generally palm-sized housing formed of a single piece of material. The housing completely encloses a roll of tape mounted within the housing for rotation relative to the housing. The housing comprises a body enclosing the roll of tape, an opening in the body for dispensing the tape, and a thumb-engageable cover integrally formed with the body. The thumb-engageable cover is pivotable relative to the body to open and close the opening. The cover includes a cutter (e.g., cutting teeth) for cutting pieces of tape from the roll of tape as the cover is moved to its closed position. Alternatively, cutting teeth may be arranged along both the cover and the body of the housing so that a piece of tape may be cut from the roll be pulling the end of the tape against either row of cutting teeth. Methods of making and using the tape dispenser are also disclosed.

Abstract: A dispensing apparatus and method are disclosed for dispensing sheet material from at least one roll of the sheet material. Dispensing is transferred from a stub roll to a reserve roll automatically in response to sensing a predetermined quantity of the stub roll. An isolating element is provided to lift the reserve roll out of contact with dispensing rollers during dispensing of sheet material from the stub roll, and a nipping element is provided to nip sheet material of the reserve roll when dispensing is transferred from the stub roll to the reserve roll. A cam controls movement of both the isolating element and the nipping element. Structure is also provided for sensing the diameter of the reserve roll of sheet material and providing an indication when the reserve roll is a predetermined diameter. The dispenser is quiet and capacity efficient.

Abstract: A pet refuse bag dispenser attachable to a leash provides a device for conveniently carrying a roll of plastic bags when exercising one's pet. The dispenser includes a housing which defines an inner cavity and has an aperture therethrough which permits access to the inner cavity. The roll of plastic bags is disposed within the inner cavity such that the bags may be individually removed therefrom through the housing aperture. The plastic bags are wound about a tubular axle which is positioned centrally within the inner cavity of the housing such that the tubular axle, and thus the roll of plastic bags, may rotate therein. In one embodiment, the housing is formed of a cylindrical base into which the roll of bags is inserted, and a removable lid which encloses an open end of the cylindrical base. In another embodiment, the housing includes a blister pack affixed to a backing so as to capture the roll of plastic bags therebetween.

Abstract: A raffle ticket dispenser which incorporates a holder for a continuous strip of tickets which readily dispenses a single ticket or multiple tickets. The free end of the continuous strip of tickets is fed through an opening in the holder which has a ticket locator that maintains the first ticket in the strip readily available, and provides an edge to facilitate the removal of a single ticket or multiple tickets. In addition storage compartments are attached to the ticket holder to store items associated with the sale of the tickets. This makes a convenient, portable device which is easily moved from place to place and, also, keeps all necessary items together.

Abstract: A dispensing assembly adapted to be mounted on a backboard that may be supported on an easel or other support structure. The dispensing assembly includes a cylindrical core; a length of sheet material in a roll coaxially around the core; and a molded plastic enclosure including an elongate front portion defining an elongate chamber having an open side, and a rear portion adapted to be mounted on a backboard. The front and rear portions include journal surface portions at their ends that journal projecting end portions of the core with the roll in the chamber, which journal surface portions are separated when the front and rear portions of the closure are separated. Edges of the portions are spaced to define an elongate opening through which lengths of sheet material can be pulled from the roll, and the sheet can be cut against a sharp edge at the opening on the front portion of the enclosure.

Abstract: A combined tape reel storage, transport, and dispensing device has a core supporting axle holding a tape roll for free rotation within a generally cylindrical durable polypropylene housing. Tape is fed through a tangential feed slot, over a support ledge, and beneath a V-shaped cutter. The cutter smoothly severs a desired length of tape without twisting or binding. The recessed cutting edge also prevents the user from jabbing or cutting themselves. A finger sized slot in the cutter allows precise and safe feeding and starting of the tape unwinding process. An integral carrying handle is incorporated into the housing top and a flat support surface is incorporated into the housing bottom. An integral central boss forms the axle for supporting the spool of tape. A flat retaining bar secures the tape within the housing while providing instant visual inspection of the remaining tape on the reel.

Abstract: A dispenser for a roll of adhesive labels or other types of tape rolls employs two sidewalls hinged to a third intermediary base wall to close and create a pocket for holding the tape roll while allowing the roll to rotate for dispensing. The base wall has a face for supporting the dispenser on a desk and the tape may be dispensed through a slot formed by the interface of the two sidewalls. Interfitting embossments in the two sidewalls allow the dispenser to be opened for removing or inserting a new roll of tape. A window cut in one sidewall allows advancing or stopping the tape with finger pressure against the tape. The dispenser is advantageously produced from a single piece of plastic.

Abstract: Wrapping table assembly for use with a roll of wrapping material such as plastic film. The assembly includes a table top supported by a base on which the roll of material is rotatively mounted. A blade for cutting the film material extends along one side of the table top, and a retractable blade guard protects against accidental contact with the blade. The assembly can accommodate rolls of different widths.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing paper towelling from a roll. The dispenser has a casing for holding the roll. The casing has an open bottom. A bottom member is mounted on the casing. The bottom member is movable between a closed position where it substantially closes the open bottom of the casing, and defines, with the front of the casing, an outlet for the towelling; and an open position where it allows access into the casing to enable the leading edge of the paper towelling to be grasped should it end up within the casing.

Abstract: A convenient, contamination-free dental floss dispenser assembly having a housing and at least one roll of dental floss mounted for rotation therein. The housing having a dental floss dispensing orifice and cut-off means for cutting off pieces of the dental floss. The floss being free from engagement with the housing and spaced away by at least one-half inch from the housing when the floss extends from the orifice to the cut-off means. Accordingly, the floss free of retaining means, may be gripped by the fingers without touching or contaminating any other part of the housing. The dispenser may also incorporate a means for securely holding the assembly against movement without engagement of the housing by either hand during the dispensing and cutting off of the floss.

Abstract: A floss dispenser according to one embodiment has a base with a spool housing provided on one end thereof and a cutting member provided on the other end. The spool housing holds a spool of dental floss and dispenses an exposed portion of floss through an output port above the base. The cutting member has a friction element (which includes a blade for cutting the floss) positioned on an upper end thereof across from the output port. The friction element holds a distal end of the exposed portion of floss a spaced distance from the output port so that the exposed portion of floss extends above the base and through a gap region between the output port and the cutting member. The gap region is sized such that a user can grasp the exposed portion of floss without contacting any part of the floss dispenser. In this manner, the user avoids contaminating the floss dispenser.

Abstract: A disposable coupon dispensing cartridge includes a housing and a passageway section having top and bottom walls extending from the housing to a discharge opening. A roll of a band of coupons is contained in the housing and has a leading tail extending from the housing to the discharge opening. The coupon band is provided with longitudinally spaced indices and a metering mechanism is carried by a passageway wall and is responsive to the band indicia to releasably restrict further advance of the band upon withdrawal of a coupon through the discharge opening. The metering mechanism may include a band bellying projection on the bottom wall and a stop forwardly of the projection and the indicia are longitudinal slits or may include a longitudinally vertically movable return biased pin for releasably engaging indicia defining holes in the band and a cam for raising and lowering the pin with its longitudinal movement.

Abstract: A dispensing apparatus for serially dispensing flexible plastic bags from a wound package of bags which are joined along perforated severance lines, including a panel, and at least one elongate dispensing slot extending through the panel. The slot includes relatively narrow and linearly aligned outer edge portions, and a laterally extending tongue positioned between the outer edge portions. Also, an opening is located on one side of the tongue. In use, the opening is used to facilitate thread-up of the initial bag through the slot, and the two outer edge portions serve to engage and hold the bag in the slot. During withdrawal, the tongue engages the central portion of the bag, and when the tongue engages the next perforated severance line, or the bottom of the cut out in the case of T-shirt bags, a significant resistance is imparted which causes the severance line to rupture, with the next bag positioned in the slot and ready to be engaged and withdrawn.

Abstract: An apparatus for holding, containing, and dispensing sterile, hygienic cordage, such as dental floss and suture materials. The apparatus comprises: a housing; and cutting and retaining means. The housing has a depression formed therein across which the cordage is placed. The apparatus allows a user to grasp the cordage, withdraw a desired length of cordage, and sever a trailing end thereof without manually touching the apparatus. This reduces the threat of cross-contamination between successive uses and/or users of the apparatus.

Abstract: A package and dispenser for a continuous roll of plastic bags has a generally cylindrical shape and a longitudinal slot for dispensing the bags. Adjacent bags on the roll are attached by a perforated tear line. The dispenser is deformable to allow the operator to grip the roll by squeezing the dispenser, preventing further rotation of the roll, and allowing a bag to be removed from the roll. The dispenser is transparent, allowing indicia to be seen from a flyer inserted into the dispenser and around the roll. The flyer also blocks the slot so that bags cannot be removed during storage or shipping.

Abstract: A dispenser for roll paper includes a receptacle body having front and rear sidewalls, left and right sidewalls, a bottom and a top pivotally attached to the rear sidewall, covering an opening for adding the roll to the interior space. A recess formed in the lid defines an opening that allows the users fingers to grasp the free end of the web at the recess. A slot between the lid and front wall of the receptacle allow the web to be dispensed, and an arm suspended from the inside of the receptacle holds the free end of the web against the front of the receptacle and adjacent the recess, in a position that allows the user to easily grab the free end of the web.

Abstract: A large roll toilet paper dispenser having means for dispensing the toilet paper in a twice folded-over condition to strengthen the paper. The twice folded-over dispensed paper permits thinner paper to be used. The dispenser can also have means for minimizing bunching of the paper while it is being dispensed so that it can be easier to tear. The dispenser further has means making it easier to dispense the paper. These means can include means for locating the paper outlet opening in a more accessible position, and means for making the locating of the paper end easier.

Abstract: A container for carrying a uniform, fan-folded stack of plastic sheet assemblies and for allowing the assemblies to be conveniently dispensed, one at a time, with minimal risk that the stack will become jammed. The stack of assemblies is retained behind a constriction within an elongated chamber having a corresponding shape and slightly larger size. Pulling the forward-most assembly through a narrow channel and exit slot at the forward end of the container flexes a trailing assembly past the constriction, while the remaining assemblies remain retained behind the constriction. In addition, a shallow recess in a wall defining the narrow channel conformingly receives a plastic sheet assembly in position to be dispensed, with the recess' rear periphery inhibiting the assembly from being moved unintentionally back into the chamber.

Abstract: A toilet roll holder includes a frame and a cover rotatably mounted to the frame by a rotary shaft. The toilet roll holder further includes a support mounted within the cover and supporting a toilet roll thereon, an operating plate located below and adjacent to a rear edge of the support and rotatably mounted to the cover by a shaft, a brake plate rotatably mounted within the frame by a shaft extending parallel to the shaft, and converging holding frames arranged on opposite sides of the brake plate. The operating plate is inserted into the holding frames through their upper ends when the cover is moved to a closed position, and is normally fit loosely between the brake plate and the holding frames so as to permit the toilet paper to freely pass between the operating plate and the brake plate.

Abstract: The disclosed ticket dispenser is especially designed for the dispensing of series-connected lottery tickets and provides a box-like structure for containing the tickets which are exited through a slot in one of the structure walls. The structure is configured so as to provide guide and ticket-tensioning elements about the slot and further includes wings closing the slot at opposite edges. The wall of the structure in which the slot is provided is hinged to the rest of the structure and has a lockable catch releasable to afford access to the interior of the structure. Portions of the structure are shaped in such fashion as to prevent or minimize interior obstructions to the free travel of tickets via manual tensioning forces applies exteriorly of the structure.

Abstract: A wrap dispenser comprises a generally rectangular box structure having a base, front and back walls, left and right side walls, and a hinged top or lid. A roll containment wall is mounted parallel to but displaced a short distance inwardly from said front wall, and serves to define the forward side of a central cavity to hold a roll of commercially-available plastic wrap within the dispenser. The front wall holds a cutting blade, and the top edge of the front wall includes a blade recess portion narrower than the width of the blade. The lid includes a recessed front edge that is wider than the blade recess portion, but narrower than the front wall itself. The side walls include recessed upper corners to enable a user to reach into the separation area between the containment wall and the front wall.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing a preselected length of strip material from a roll in which the dispenser has a housing with a cover member pivotally connected to the housing. The cover member has an elongated transversely extending slot with a bracket member extending therethrough and pivotally supported intermediate its edge portions to the cover with a portion extending into the housing and a portion extending outside of the housing through the slot. The bracket member rear edge portion is arranged to pivot upwardly against the inner surface of the cover and abut the inner surface of the cover to frictionally engage the paper therebetween. The bracket front edge forms a knife edge for severing a preselected length of strip material from the roll when the material is pulled downwardly against the knife edge portion of the bracket. The bracket member is arranged to be pivoted upwardly by the strip material to release the back edge of the bracket member and permit the withdrawal of a length of paper from the roll.

Abstract: The present invention provides a towel cradle particularly useful with any one of standard C-fold, multi-fold, single fold and rolled paper towel to be dispensed from a paper towel dispenser. The towel cradle comprises a hopper-like cradle body having an apertured towel support surface provided with a dispensing opening and a substantially solid towel support surface each of which is set at a downward inward angle continuing to a centrally positioned throat formed by downward extensions on each of the surfaces. The downward extension on the solid support surface is additionally provided with a paper cutting edge integral to said towel cradle. The cradle body is reversible within the towel dispenser such that in a first dispensing position the apertured support surface is positioned forwardly in the dispenser which is fitted with a towel guide for dispensing C-fold and multi-fold towels through the dispensing opening with the paper cutting edge being generally hidden to the rear of the dispenser.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing closure tags, includes a support structure on which is mounted a channel member defining first and second channels through which to feed a strip of closure tags. The forward end of the second channel is disposed slightly ahead of the forward end of the first channel to enable placement of a bag into the first tag while a substantial portion of the lower edge of the first tag is still disposed within the second channel. A guide member attached to the channel member defines a surface disposed generally ahead of and facing the second channel that includes a first portion extending from a first position that is generally directly ahead of the forward end of the second channel a distance slightly less than the tag width to a second position that is disposed sideways from the longitudinal axis of the second channel.

Abstract: A transparent dispenser is disclosed for dispensing material, generally tickets. One side of the dispenser is hinged for entry into the dispenser. A curl is formed within the dispenser in order to guide the tickets from inside the dispenser to the outside of the dispenser. In a second embodiment of the dispenser, the top and two sides are made of one piece of material and are hingeably connected to the bottom and front, which are made of one piece of material. In the third embodiment, an axle and wheel rotate within the curl to advance the tickets from the inside of the dispenser to the outside of the dispenser. In all three embodiments, various mounting methods are provided.

A flap is arranged to project outwardly downwardly in use condition, from the upper edge, being preferably integrally formed with the front wall. The leading edge portion of the film clings to the upper surface of the flap to prevent retraction of the film after a section is severed in the known manner. The flap is formed with at least one notch at its outer edge for grasping the edge portion of the film. An alternate embodiment provides a similar flap as part of a separate strip insertable into the carton.

Abstract: A roll dispenser 1, preferably one piece having no moving parts, has a rear aperture 8 for insertion of a roll and a front aperture 7 for extraction of material from the roll. The dispenser is conveniently made by injection moulding, or by compression moulding in which case it is desirable that the top surface 11 and bottom surface 12 are mutually parallel.

Abstract: A dispenser for rolls of adhesive tape is described. The dispenser includes a parallelepiped receptacle for a roll of tape, with an opening for drawing the tape from the receptacle and a cutting means adjacent the opening for severing the tape. The dispenser may include an angle member to serve both as a cutting means and a retaining surface and also serve to strengthen the receptacle in cooperation with a strengthening panel beneath the angle member.

Abstract: A dispensing apparatus for tissue rolls has a body member with a base portion, and a cover which is movable between a closed operating position and an open loading position. The base portion has sidewalls with bearing portions for a cylindrical tissue roll support and a front wall with an opening through which the free end of a tissue roll can be grasped by a finger of the user, pulled out of the opening and severed by engagement with a cutting edge extending across the opening. A lower guide plate member has an outer edge pivotally supported on the base portion for swinging movement around an axis parallel and close to the cutting edge inwardly above the roll support to rest on the tissue roll and support the outermost layer of tissue from the roll toward the cutting edge.

A box-shaped container has side, front, rear, and bottom walls, and a cover hinged adjacent the rear wall. The container has side spacers that normally receive a 4-inch width roll package, and a narrower, 2-inch width roll package may be received for which there are provided extensions for the spacers. The spacers slightly compress the package to provide drag on the roll as it becomes lighter. Disposition of the roll package is such that film may be removed from the upper region of the roll, through a slotted opening between the front wall and the adjacent free edge of the closed cover.

Abstract: A chewing gum dispenser is described wherein a rectangular box having a top, a bottom, two sides, a front and a rear end is dimensioned to contain a plurality of sticks of gum when the sticks of gum are stacked one upon another within the interior of the box. The front end of the box has a slot extending from one side of the box to the other side adjacent to the top of the box. The box has an elongated hole in its top surface and a spring attached to the bottom of the box and extending within the interior of the box toward the top surface. The spring urges sticks of gum within the box toward the top such that the uppermost stick of gum fits against the inside of the top of the box resulting in a portion of the top stick of gum being exposed through the elongated hole. By frictionally engaging the top stick of gum with a finger inserted through the elongated hole the top stick of gum can be partially pushed out of the box through the slot.

Abstract: This block-shaped container is characterized by a spring means which maintains cover of the container above serrated cutter in its inoperative condition thus preventing the hands of the user from accidentally coming in contact with the cutter.
