  • Patent number: 10655412
Abstract: An equipment for stimulating increased oil recovery is described. The complex is most suitable for operations in wells where natural flow and gas-lift recovery methods are used, and also for combined treatment of bottom-hole formation zones together with acoustic (ultrasonic) emitters. The complex consists of two main parts: a surface power supply and control unit, and a downhole electro-hydraulic instrument consisting of a boosting inverter unit a capacitor unit and a plasma discharger. Said instrument has a diameter less than 52 mm, allowing the instrument to pass freely through all existing production tubing. The instrument has a modular structure, making it possible to build up the power of the plasma discharge from 0.5 to 3 kJ.

  • Patent number: 7875152
Abstract: A torn paper web capture system that is a mechanism for securing a band, tape or strap, preferably composed of paper, across a paper roll as the roll is rotating. A sensor means detects the torn paper web and initiates both the shut down of rotation of the paper roll and the release of the band. The band resides within a guide track, the track being generally C-shaped in cross-section Upon contact with spool journal or similar rotating member the end of the band adheres and is wrapped around the rotating member. This wrapping action takes up the slack in the band and pulls it from the guide track and against the paper web, thereby securing the loose end of the paper web. The contact between the band and the rotating member may be initiated in multiple ways, such as with a nip roller, an actuating shoe member, or the like.

Abstract: A yarn breakage position detecting device and method of detecting a yarn breakage position involves a running yarn tension detector arranged at a reference position and that outputs a tension signal by which occurrence of yarn breakage is detected, and passage of the end of a broken yarn through the reference position is then calculated based on the time period from occurrence of yarn breakage to passage of the broken yarn end through the reference position. The time when the yarn passes through the reference position is stored as a time at which the tension signal becomes lower than a lower limit value and/or a time at which natural oscillation begins.

The anti-wrap rollers are rotated at a surface speed nominally greater than the surface speed of the printing rolls. The anti-wrap rollers include a plurality of opposed peak and valley portions which enable them to interlock and grip the web along a line of contact.

  • Patent number: 5244067
Abstract: A detector on a wire lead machine includes a pair of contacts biased into a normally closed position. The wire is fed between the contacts, keeping the contacts open, and the insulation on the wire prevents electrical conductivity between the contacts. If the wire runs out, the contacts close to shut off the machine. Additionally, a splice on the wire establishes an electrical path between the contacts and, again, the machine is shut off. The detector includes a detection circuit which generates a control signal. In the event a splice is passing through the contacts, the detection circuit generates a control signal having a relatively short time duration (as for example, 100 microseconds) and holds the signal for a sufficient time period (as for example, 500 milliseconds). This allows a suitable control means (which may include a microprocessor) to shut off the machine because of either wire runout or a splice on the wire, thereby preventing serious damage to the machine and maintaining productivity.

Abstract: An apparatus for routing a passageway in a conduit includes an elongate cable for direction into a conduit passageway. A cable supply drum contains a supply of the cable and is rotatable about an axis, there being a length of the cable projecting to outwardly of the drum. A motor selectively imparts rotation to the drum about the axis. The cable and drum are configured such that the projecting length of cable rotates about its length as an incident of the drum being rotated about its axis. A brake is provided for stopping rotation of the drum and thereby rotation of the projecting length of cable so as to prevent torquing of the projecting length of cable as when the projecting length of cable is prevented by freely rotating by an obstruction encountered in a conduit passageway.

  • Patent number: 5190201
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reliably detecting the occurrence of a web break in a web processing system is disclosed employing a non-contacting, non-optical sensor to detect the presence of the web. Cushion pressure in a cushion pressure zone adjacent the web is sensed to determine a web break condition. A sensor block is mounted within an enclosure through which the web passes. The sensor block is configured to sense the cushion pressure in the region between an air bar and the web. The cushion pressure is communicated outside the enclosure to a transducer which compares the cushion pressure to either the internal ambient pressure of the enclosure or to atmospheric pressure. The resulting differential pressure is compared to a threshold differential; if the measured differential pressure drops below the predetermined threshold pressure, a web break is indicated and web processing is terminated.
