With Means To Independently Vary Mover Speed Patents (Class 226/111)
  • Patent number: 4037546
Abstract: a sewing machine apparatus for aligning one side of a series of fabric panels in a predetermined position. The apparatus includes measuring devices which associate with and continually monitor the position of one side of the fabric panels with respect to each other. A control means, responsive to the output of the measuring means, selectively advances or retards the top feeding mechanism engaging with the top layer or fabric or the bottom feed mechanism engageable with the bottom layer of fabric, as may be necessary, whereby aligning one side of the fabric panels at the completion of the sewing operation.

  • Patent number: 4014489
Abstract: A device for feeding strands such as for further textile processing wherein driving means comprising a pair of nip rolls are continuously and drivingly engaged with the strand extending therebetween, said nip rolls being movably supported between spaced speed-control rolls which are operable at different surface speeds so that selective movement of said nip rolls as a unit against the surface of one or the other of the speed-control rolls serves to drive the nip rolls and thus in turn feed the strand located therebetween at different rates. This device has particular utility in producing air-textured composite yarns, including both core-and-effect and slub-type yarns, but is not limited to such use.

  • Patent number: 4007866
Abstract: A web transport arrangement is devised for transporting a web material along a web path. The web material is supplied by a variable feed mechanism to a processing mechanism for processing the web. The web material while being metered by the feed mechanism is maintained by the mechanism under a low tension although the web may be maintained under a high tension during subsequent processing operations. A control circuit automatically compares the feed rate of the web through the low tension feed area to the rate of the processing mechanism operative on the web within the processing area and provides for any necessary modification of the infeed rate in order to synchronize them.

  • Patent number: 3954071
Abstract: A sewing machine for sewing two material layers to each other in aligned positions, comprises a top feeding mechanism engageable with a top layer for feeding it and a bottom feed mechanism engageable with a bottom layer of material for feeding it. The top and bottom feeding mechanisms are connected to a synchronizing device which regulates the relative speed between the two. A sensor or measuring means is engageable with the material being fed and is connected to the synchronizing means in order to vary the relative speed of the top and bottom feeds in accordance with the actual feed of the material layers.

  • Patent number: 3952932
Abstract: A tape transport system for use in a magnetic tape recorder and reproducer set is described wherein a magnetic tape is simultaneously driven by means of two capstans, and which further comprises two motors, one of which is associated with one of the capstans, and the other with the other capstan, driving discs connected to the motors, transmission belt means connecting the driving discs of the two motors with one another, and means for operating the motor downstream, relative to the moving magnetic tape, as the driving motor for the tape. Electrical braking means for braking the motor upstream relative to the other motor seen in the direction of the moving tape are also provided.

  • Patent number: 3944120
Abstract: An elongated pipe is held in a first constant tension mechanism and then, while the tension is maintained, the pipe load is shifted to a second constant tension mechanism by automatically correlating the declining tension force of the first constant tension mechanism with the increasing tension force of the second constant tension mechanism until the pipe is completely shifted to the second constant tension mechanism.

  • Patent number: 3940042
Abstract: A device for equalizing the speeds at which material moves through different sections of a machine which includes a tiltable structure sensitive to the depth of sag of the material passing from one section to another, a coil having a straight longitudinal axis is attached to the tiltable structure, and a spaced strip is disposed alongside the coil to provide a straight raceway containing a conductive ball, whereby tilting of the structure may allow gravity to move the ball along the raceway and so vary the impedance between the ball and one end of the coil. Another feature involves having multiple balls in the raceway, preferably of different diameter.
