In another embodiment, a cover molding encloses the crush cell structure is crushable with the structure in a side impact collision.

    Abstract: An apparatus for printing variable information on a tape to form a tape segment, applying the tape segment onto an object, and cutting the tape segment includes a printer for printing information onto the tape segment. A controller controls the printer in response to input to vary the information printed onto the tape. The printed tape segment is transported to a location for application onto the object and is cut. The unwind tension of the tape as the tape is removed from the tape roll is controlled to present the tape to the printer at a substantially uniform speed and to reduce jerkiness of the tape. The information is registered such that it is placed at a predetermined location on different tape segments.

    Abstract: A yarn dispenser having upper and lower rollers feeding yarn from a skein. The upper roller is pivoted to the side for insertion and removal of yarn. The upper roller has a part of its central circumference recessed so as to free yarn one time in each rotation of the upper roller, to thereby prevent balling of the yarn. A miniature, 1.5 V battery powered motor powers the rollers via an O-ring belt drive. A foot controlled switch is used in the electrical circuit. The yarn dispenser can be mounted in a briefcase sized receptacle by snap fasteners or may be removed, in which case the dispenser can be supported above a supporting surface on a removable cover on which the base rests.

    Abstract: Means are provided for accurate incremental feeding of web material from a supply to a work station by a combination of intermittent drive means for advancing the web and electrically controlled magnetic brake means for clamping and stopping the web after a desired increment thereof has been fed from the supply to the work station. In one embodiment the intermittent drive means comprises a second magnetic brake means reciprocated through advance and retraction strokes of predetermined length which is actuated and deactuated in phase opposition with the first brake means to effect the incremental advance of the web. In another the embodiment intermittent drive means is comprised of sequential feed rolls which nip the web material over a predetermined circumferential extent of the rolls to effect a given incremental advance.
