With Means To Disable Material-mover Patents (Class 226/161)
  • Patent number: 7900803
Abstract: The invention relates to an advancing apparatus for the intermittent supply of a semi-finished material (22) in the form of a band to a press. The apparatus comprises a pair of displacement grippers (4, 7) which run forwards and backwards and by which the material (22) is advanced in an advancing phase, a stationary pair of clamping grippers (24, 27) by which the material (22) is held in a fixed manner in a non-advancing phase, and a control rocker (12) with a control drive (40, 42) which is coupled to one control end of the latter and to which the pair of displacement grippers (4, 7) and the pair of clamping grippers (24, 27) are coupled mechanically and their interaction is controlled.

  • Patent number: 5350101
Abstract: A stock feeder has a housing for supporting both the stock and an advancer which coaxially extends through the housing and is formed as a collet which, when clamped, grips the stock and holds the advancer in a fixed relationship with the stock. At the extreme distal end of the advancer the collet is formed with a radially extending lip, and proximal to the collet the advancer is formed with a radially extending ring. A chuck which is formed with a radial groove slidingly surrounds the collet and is movable relative to the advancer. Specifically, the chuck can be moved on the collet between a first position wherein the chuck clamps the collet onto the stock and a second position wherein the collet is released to allow a sliding movement of the stock through the advancer. In either collet configuration, the stock may be rotated. An actuator is engaged with the groove on the chuck and is manipulable to move the chuck between the first and second positions.

  • Patent number: 4848636
Abstract: A roll feed apparatus for intermittently feeding a strip by a constant length into manufacturing machines. A pair of first and second rolls and a pair of first and second brake shoes are arranged along a strip transporting path. The rolls move swingingly in a strip transporting direction to transport the strip clamped between the rolls. The rolls move away from each other when they swingingly move in a direction opposite to the strip transporting direction. First and second cams are mounted respectively on outer and inner shaft members of a drive shaft for rotation therewith. The inner shaft member can be adjusted in its angular position relative to the outer shaft member. The cams are operatively connected to the second brake shoe.

  • Patent number: 4612794
Abstract: In crimping pliers for connecting contact elements to electrical conductors, which crimping pliers consist of a grip, a retaining plate, which is fixed to the latter and has a lateral recess accommodating the contact elements, on the upper side of which recess cutouts are made which interact with the crimping stamps which project at the upper side from a workplate displaceably guided in the retaining plate, on which workplate a hand lever is pivoted, the tightening movement of which displaces the workplate relative to the retaining plate and moves the crimping stamps into the open cutouts, a housing is fixed to the workplate in order to automatically feed a sheet-metal strip, which supports contact elements at intervals and has mating holes, and a linkage mechanism is pivoted on the hand lever.

  • Patent number: 4601420
Abstract: A roll feed apparatus for intermittently feeding a sheet-like blank material to successive work stations has a pair of sector rolls adapted to be driven by an oscillation driving device in synchronism with each other such as to clamp the material therebetween and feed the same intermittently in one direction, by virtue of a driving connection device which drivingly connects the rolls to the oscillation driving device. The apparatus further has a roll release device adapted to move the rolls away from each other when the rolls are oscillated in the directions counter to the feeding directions thereby releasing the sheet-like blank material from the clamping force.

  • Patent number: 4151771
Abstract: This relates to the handling of thin soft temper material during the feeding thereof and in formation of such material into individual components in a punch press. Most particularly, a pull tab formed of a plastics material-aluminum foil laminate is being formed. In order to control the movement of the stock through the punch press, the stock is longitudinally stiffened by the formation of longitudinal ribs therein. The ribs are preferably formed by the stock feeding mechanism. The work product is blanked and formed substantially in its entirety in regions of the stock outside of the stiffening rib areas and prior to the final severing of the work product from the stock, the stiffening ribs are flattened. In the separation of the work product from the stock, there is material removal in a punching operation along the areas previously containing the stiffening ribs.

  • Patent number: 4131224
Abstract: An apparatus having a table defining a work surface, and a carriage mounted for movement over the work surface in one direction includes a device for precisely indexing a strip of sheet material in the same direction so that various sections of the strip can be operated upon by an instrument mounted on the carriage. The indexing device comprises a bar that is parked at one edge of the work surface while the instrument and carriage are working on one section of the sheet material. The bar is subsequently attached to the carriage above the sheet material for an indexing operation. A plurality of magnets are mounted in the bar and cooperate with a clamping plate placed under the bar and the sheet material to clamp the sheet material between the plate and the bar during an indexing operation. After the indexing operation, the clamping plate and bar are returned to the parking position at one edge of the work surface and the bar is detached from the instrument carriage.
