  • Patent number: 9601890
Abstract: An electrical terminal applicator with a molded frame composed of a polymer base material mixed with 10% to 25% total weight of a reinforcing material such as glass fiber or carbon fiber. Prior to injecting the mixture into a mold, steel inserts for attaching various components are installed in the mold. A feed mechanism feeds a terminal strip into a crimp region. A plunger with a crimp punch reciprocates vertically within a plunger channel in the frame. An anvil is mounted to the base plate and extends into the crimping region. The punch and anvil are shaped to crimp the terminal to the wire conductor.

  • Patent number: 7036578
Abstract: A coiled tubing injector assembly includes a coiled tubing injector and a tubing guide. The tubing guide has an automatic clamping mechanism that includes a pair of clamping slips. The clamping slip will automatically move from an open position in which coiled tubing can pass through the clamping sips, to a closed position in which the clamping slips positively clamp the coiled tubing to the tubing guide. The clamping mechanism moves from the open to the closed position when the tubing guide is lifted from an installation platform in which the coiled tubing is positioned in the tubing guide so that it can be positioned on top of the coiled tubing injector. The clamping mechanism will automatically clamp the coiled tubing to the tubing guide when the tubing guide is removed from the coiled tubing injector.

  • Patent number: 6213369
Abstract: A material feeding apparatus has gripper apparatuses which perform clamping and unclamping operations of a material by means of a stationary gripper and a movable gripper, and a sliding block which can support the first gripper apparatus and oscillate in a transfer direction of the material. These members are respectively driven by first, second and third cams which are fixed to an input shaft. In order to closely attach transfer members interposed between the first cam performing a forwarding operation of the material and the sliding block to each other, a spring which always urges the sliding block in a returning direction is provided. Accordingly, it is possible to remove a play between the transfer members and perform a feeding operation at a high speed and a high accuracy. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a material feeding apparatus which can transfer and supply the material at a high speed and a high accuracy.

  • Patent number: 6179191
Abstract: An apparatus for advancing one or more lengths of wire in consistent successive increments includes a pair of cooperating gripper members. A first gripper and a second gripper are provided for advancing the length of wire, and are slideably located within a slot. A reciprocating press assembly having inclined surfaces is used to motivate the grippers. The inclined surfaces are inserted between the grippers and force the grippers to move away from each other during the downstroke of the plunger. Springs force the grippers back toward each other, and aid in repositioning the grippers and moving the wire. While one gripper grips and advances the wire, the second gripper is repositioning and not gripping the wire. The press assembly activates and advances one gripper during a downstroke, and activates and advances the other gripper during an upstroke. Also, during the downstroke, one inactive gripper is repositioned, while on the upstroke, the other inactive gripper is repositioned.

  • Patent number: 4552294
Abstract: This invention relates to a gripping feeder for an intermittent feeding of strip or wire stock in presses, stamping machines or similar machines. It is an object of the invention to provide such gripping feeder which permits a change of the stroke length to be effected from the outside while the machine is in operation and permits such change to be effected manually or by means of an adjusting motor and also permits an automatic adaptation of the feeding and retaining grippers to the thickness of the strip or wire stock to be fed. This is accomplished in that the carriage carrying the feeding gripper is adapted to be driven from the main drive of the machine via a feed rocker, which extends transversely to the direction of travel of the carriage and is fulcrumed on a slider, which is slidable along a rail that extends transversely to the direction of travel of the carriage so that an adjustment of the slider along said rail will result in a change of the stroke length of the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4465216
Abstract: In a rod cement feeding apparatus, the rod passes between two plates, pivoted to one another, each plate having a semi-cylindrical groove, so that the two grooves for a substantially cylindrical passageway for the rod. The surfaces of the plates in which the grooves are provided are, over most of their length, spaced apart by projections, so that opposed slots are formed which extend into the passageway for the rod. Projecting into one such slot is a spring-urged jaw which co-operates with a fixed jaw which projects into the other slot, the jaws being moved lengthwise of the passageway by a pneumatic cylinder arrangement. As the jaws are moved in one direction, the spring-urged jaw tends to bite into the rod so that the rod is fed with the jaws during their advancing movement, while when the jaws are moved in the opposite direction the rotatable jaw releases its grip so that there is no tendency for the rod to be fed in the opposite direction.
